Dos mas, no mas. A couple of friends and I ventured to the lovely island and to be Frank we were quite famished. We took our talents over to Dos Mas which I assumed was better than the mediocre "Sharky's Cantina" but oh was I mistaken. The service was piss poor as it took a hefty amount of time to receive our beverages and food. I believe this led to my colleagues water being tainted someway somehow. There was some sort of unknown gunk in my apprentices water and she sadly could not drink the rest of it because she was trembling in fear at the unsightly sludge. At this point, I was officially pissed. The cell service was also quite awful so I was unable to answer any of my colleagues or worried family members wondering where I have been for so long. It must've taken three trips around the sun before we received our food, which was mediocre by the way. The items we ordered were delicious, especially the mushroom taco. Mango salsa is addictive, and the chips were fresh and crispy. Guac was pretty bland. The only complaint is the pricing, se items are pretty expensive for the small portions received. The other night, we ordered take-out of our usual three tacos/ each for a party of three and dunno what happened! Utterly without flavor, herb or spice, textures...skimpy fillings, particularly the short rib (whose price has considerably increased) and the taco itself was wet cardboard-like. Thinking it was just a way off night, we asked our son but he had a similar experience the week before. We know you have the skill and capability.... The spicy margarita tasted like canned, pickled jalapenos and would have been better with fresh jalapeno instead, in my opinion. Brunch was disappointing. Huevos rancheros: the beans weren't warm and looked sad, the cheese wasn't melted, none of the cotija or cilantro mentioned on the menu, and there was very little salsa. The chilaquiles were better, and the salsa tasted good, but they seemed to be made with soft tortillas, rather than chips or crisp fried tortillas, so the texture was soggy and off. I have never popped into Dos Mas in Oak Bluffs for a meal. Last night I was thinking of ordering carry-out and saw that Dos Mas offers delivery. During the Covid19 crises there are limited choices for eating dinner. I might be the furthest distance from their location. $5 for delivery and certainly among the best hamburgers I have ever had and by far the most enjoyable fried yucca ever. Yes, my tip was larger than the fee and come to think of it, I have not checked the cost yet. read more

We stopped into this spot while enjoying our honeymoon on the island. During COVID, many restaurants are filled with frustrated staff who air on the side of rude more often than not. THIS PLACE WAS AMAZING. Kind, welcoming, and extremely personable staff and owners. The coconut margaritas were to die for, I had 3 just myself and I normally don't drink much. The guacamole was excellent, could tell it was homemade. Falafel was good, a tiny bit dry, the beef chips were awesome! Very tasty and the only thing that had a very big portion size. We had heard positive feedback and went with a group for dinner. The waitress was incompetent and after finally taking down our order the food arrived and was inedible due to being spicy hot. We complained to the waitress who did nothing to resolve the situation. Walk by and go to Sharkeys instead. We decided to try breakfast here we were excited about the huevos rancheros and chilaquiles. The portions were so small that they came on plates that should be reserved for side dishes. You know, the ones that you use at home for a salad or a piece of pie? In addition, the prices were way too high for the portion size. There is no meat or fresh vegetables (except for one leaf of cilantro)included in either of the dishes that I mentioned and for $12 a plate, there definitely should be something else. The Friday eggs that were included with both of these dishes were overcooked, with hard yolks in the middle. We also ordered pancakes, and given the portion size for the other two dishes we needed it. However, the pancakes were burnt on one side and extremely chewy. This place has a great location and a wonderful porch - hopefully the food will improve. read more

The manager/owner was very rude and unprofessional. Myself and two people in my party ordered a mimosa. The mimosas were made with Proseco. We did not like the drinks and asked for them to be sent back. The owner/manager (so he stated) started to scream and stated it was ridiculous because all Mimosas are made with Proseco and next time we shouldn't order one. "If you dont like champagne, dont order mimosas! " I tried to explain to explained there's a difference between champagne and prosecco. He did not want to hear it. He tried to embarrass us in front of the other patrons. Just being loud and rude!! I insisted on paying even though he offered to comp the bill. Awful. If I could put negative stars I would. First walking in we were optimistic about this restaurant. We were a group of eight all ording on seperate checks (we ordered at the same time at the same table) the wait was about 30 minutes and still hoping that the food would be good. When the food came I recived one taco for 5 dollar. the taco was cold, distastful, unseasoned, and mediocre. The food was taken out at separate times and by the time the last plate was served we were all done with our meals. when we walked in we had to ask the waiter to seat us and continued to have to ask the waiter for basic nececitys that should have been taken to us. By the end of dinner we found that the chips and guacamole was charged seperatley, $4 for chips and $5 for guacamole adding up to $9 in TOTAL. In was more that the tacos in all and the guacamole was below mediocre. At the end when we got all of our mediocre checks for our mediocre meals, we had to walk up to the waiters and ask to pay. We waited over an hour for cold pancakes and butter warmer then the pancakes, but that wasn't even our issue! There's was 1 poor waitress running ragged. I didn't like the mimosa and sent it back for regular orange juice. I then got yelled at by the '"owner" told not to order mimosa's if you don't like champagne and OJ. He was loud and I was embarrassed. I told him there no reason to talk to customers like this. He did apologize saying he had a rough couple of weeks. He insist upon standing on his word that champagne and prosecco are the same thing! I told him there a difference. He said there's not. I told him if you a Budweiser and you get a Corona, wouldn't you be upset?! I should have stayed with my reservation at Biscuits. Instead I was impatient and had to pay the price. Came to Martha's Vineyard on vacation with my family. Trying to enjoy ourselves in the limited time we had in between ferry's, we came across this place for a quick bite to eat for breakfast. Seated quickly, and that's the only complement they will receive. It was 6 of us and only 5 ordered, the food took 50 minutes to come. I ordered a pear ginger and I wasn't told it wasn't available until an hour had past once I finished my meal. Paid $18 for a appetizer looking steak omelette and all of my family members orders were kid size as well. My dad's fried potatoes never came and we put that order in with everything else. As a resident/islander for years, I was very excited to try Dos Mas, especially since Backyard Taco is their sister restaurant and I have never had a bad experience there. However after we were seated, the waitress asked if what we wanted, and when a friend asked for a drink her response was "Well Cleary you've had enough tonight" and then continued to single out a friend at the table saying "especially this one". Mind you, we did ABSOLUTELY nothing to warrant this type of reaction, and were 110% sober. After I told her how that was extremely rude of her to approach us like that, she went and got the manager, who I was expecting an apology for because I was SHOCKED at what had just taken placed, and instead he made an excuse "Well if she thinks you guys are too drunk she's saving out ass", "Well we've have had a tough day". Not a sincere apology, no discount, just big Ego. Lessoned learned will not ever be taking family nor friends there again. read more
