The people were so nice, and the food was delicious! We got the Baja fish tacos. These were easily some of the best fish tacos I've ever had. I got a side of rice with it and it was like no other rice I've ever had. I believe they called it their poblano rice? It had corn and peppers and some kind of seasoning in it that made you want to just keep eating! We were so pleasantly surprised by this place!! Overpriced nasty food. The restaurant was clean and the service descent. But I can't get past the awful, nasty food and the cost of it. I would have enjoyed sitting home with crushed ice more than the tasteless house margaritas. Online - the restaurant shows half-orders of nachos are available. In person, I was told that wasn't the case but they could place an order for a kids size plate. Okay. The waiter failed to mention there would be an upcharge of $3 for steak fajita meat - which I feel he should have done instead of saying "yes! I'll do that for you." Best Mexican in Jasper! Our waiter was wonderful with the kids and accommodating. It's always clean, well staffed, and never too loud. The menu is big with plenty of diverse options. Portions are big without being "too big". I love the poblano rice, and today I tried their berria queso tacos which were fantastic! I've had them at other Jasper spots, but this was definitely better. I also had the coconut pina colada margarita with a tahin rim. It wasn't too sweet and more coconutty rather than pineapple. This place is great... it looks like your typical Mexican restaurant..honestly, you can't go wrong no matter what you order... I've tried almost everything.. it's all good... tastes fresh an the waitstaff are awesome.. now, if you want a quick meal, I suggest going for lunch... they get quite crowded in the evenings.. although, you still get your food in a reasonable amount of time.. the place is very clean and they do serve lots of alcohol.. so, I strongly suggest you go give this place a shot.. you won't be disappointed read more

The ambience in the restaurant is acceptable, and the staff was friendly and quick to offer chip and drink refills. Salsa, one of the most important things in any Mexican restaurant, was good, but not exceptional, being overall fairly watery in consistency. The flavor was subtle yet delicious. The food on the other hand, was not only less than impressive, the meal was unsatisfactory. The beans tasted burnt, and the amount of cheese on any part of the meal you receive will be almost none. At 9 pm on Sunday night, driving through this town, it was hard to find anywhere open to eat. At last we came upon Dos Magaritas and were slightly apprehensive due to the mediocre reviews on Yelp. I am happy to report that this place was good. We were greeted and seated promptly, chips and salsa were brought out, and our order taken. The food was prepared quickly and the portion sizes are decent. I went for the tropical fajitas and thought they were very good. It's not the best Mexican food I have ever had, but the quality of the food and service was good and I'm happy that they were open at the time. Give them a go. read more

Local Jasper Mexican restaurant is quite good. Visited several times now to be sure it has not a 'one hit wonder' and each time has been better than before. Fajitas tropical with pineapple was very good. Service was excellent and prices reflect recent inflation- but i had FAR rather pay more to maintain consistent quality vs many restaurants who try to hold prices (and margins) by cutting quality. read more

There was nothing really special about this place. Stopped here on the way back to Atlanta from a cabin in Blue Ridge. We passed 3 other Mexican Restaurants within about 1/2 a mile of each other, and just randomly decided to go to this one. Kind of wished we'd gone to La Parilla instead, but we were willing to try something new. Not terribly busy, but the waiter really waited a while to get our orders. We expected cheaper food, because of the way the restaurant looks, but it was fairly expensively priced for the quality. Just to get cheese dip, expect to spend an extra $3.00. Salsa tasted pretty fresh, and the chips were thin and crispy (the kind I like). It was about 7$ for a burrito with rice, which was a pretty good size, but the flavor was nothing special. Not a 7$ burrito, that's for sure. I've honestly tasted better at Chipotle. Chipotle certainly tastes fresher. My friend got a steak and cheese taco, and I believe that was a little cheaper. We came on a Sunday, so there weren't any lunch specials, even though there was a menu down on the table specifically advertising lunch specials... So if you decide to go to this place, lunchtime is when the best deals are. You can get things for around 4-5$, and that includes two foodstuffs, and some rice. The lunch menu ends around 3:00pm, though, and isn't counted on Sundays at all. The final verdict: I eat at a lot of Mexican restaurants, so I have gotten pretty good at finding reasonably priced Mexican food, that is also good quality. I also cook a lot myself, so I can recognize fresh ingredients and proportionate seasoning, and this place was bland and didn't seem to use very many fresh ingredients. read more

If I could give this zero stars I would. Absolutely, without a doubt, the worse Mexican restaurant I have ever eaten at. My taco came out cold. The tortilla was really thick and there was hardly any cheese. The refried beans were so runny that I needed a spoon. The chips glistened with grease. Salsa was pretty good. My moms quesadilla was soggy. When I asked about it he said that was how they make it and that most customers have to eat it with a fork. The beef. Oh my the beef. It tasted like they boiled it. We came on Sunday at about 12:00, it was not busy in the least. Our server was inattentive, we waited 20 minutes for refill on chips and salsa, she then proceeded to tell us a big party had the kitchen backed up and now they were back on track (there was no large party as the largest party in the restaurant was a table of 6 and they got their food after us.)My mom only wanted two soft taco supremes. They were bland and the ground beef looked like wet cat food. I had the house special, ribeye with shrimp and (might I say the smallest drizzle of) queso which was alright. Worst Mexican restaurant ever!!! The food was disgusting and tasted like it was left over from the day before. My rice was ice cold like it just came from the fridge. My husband's burrito sauce was brown not red. My shrimp quesadilla was very bland. The shrimp weren't seasoned at all and tasted like they were freezer burnt. I visited this Mexican restaurant a few days ago for lunch. I ordered the lunch steak fajitas. It's always a treat to see and hear your meal coming out on a sizzling hot plate! My pitiful meal arrived. No sizzle. No hot plate. Just your standard restaurant plate. When I placed my order, I asked for just the meat and onions. No peppers or anything else cooked with the steak. There was something red and soggy in my steak that my waitress assured me was tomatoe. Simple request not met. Strike one. The meat was way over cooked and very tough. Only a few onions. Must be a shortage. The toppings were practically nonexistent. They did not have enough there for even one fajita. Strike two. I asked my waitress to bring me two very small servings of the pico and guacamole. She brought out two tiny (smaller than a shot glass) serving of each. Just enough to split between my two remaining fajitas. I finished my disappointing meal and requested my check. They charged me for those two tiny toppings!!! She apologized saying she had to charge for anything extra she brought out of the kitchen. Strike three! I asked to see the Manager. I told him about what had happened with my pathetic lunch. He asked "Why didn't you send your plate back?" And have them tamper with my food? No thank you. "Why won't your food prep staff put an adequate serving on the plate so we don't have to ask for more?" Crickets. He took the toppings off my bill, and I left. There are other Mexican restaurants in the area. I would encourage anyone reading this review to eat someplace else. read more

Two times in the past 1 month we have not only received poor service but also experienced problems with the owner when paying. The first time we paid in cash and the change they brought back was $10 short. They finally gave it back to us but not without an argument. Today, thinking using our debit card would be better controlled, our server took our card to run it, brought it back with the original receipt but no receipt to sign. Went up to the owner to get the receipt to sign it and she told us that we had not given anyone our card and that we needed to pay immediately. Very poor customer service insinuating that we had not offered to pay. After an intense argument with her I told her to just run the card and I would be checking my bank account when I got home. We will never go back after the way we were treated for trying to do the right thing and sign the receipt. She also tried to blame the server and told me that it was not her problem that I was upset. read more
