We have watched the winery and tasting room grow from humble origins on Willcox Bench . I love their RED a house blend with a great label of a cute lab. We always get their Bubbly pink in a can when we order their pizza . This is my favorite place to take visitors for wine and a pizza or maybe their greet beet salad as well. Lots of patio space in front or back with charming plants and adorable dogs on occasion. The staff is terrific from co owner Kelly to Karen who is a great server to Brook who always has the best smile - all three are terrific ! read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience today. Janice was our server and was patient, fun, kind, helpful, and very knowledgeable about the wines. I highly recommend this winery! The ambience and service is incredible. read more

Overall a nice experience. Wines were tasty and owners were hospitable. Beautiful setting appropriate ambience.

I have long considered Dos Cabezas to have some of the best wines produced in AZ - the last time I went to a wine festival a bottle of their El Campo is the only one I bought. Yesterday was my first visit to their tasting room in Sonoita. They are located right in "downtown" (ha!) Sonoita, so this is a convenient place to start your visit to Southern Arizona's wine country. They also are one of the few tasting rooms that serve food: appetizer platters, pizza, etc. These are made in a food truck out back. The downside is that the tasting room is not located at their vineyards or wine production facility, so you don't get the "feel" of being at a winery. That's why I dropped one star in my rating. All four of us ordered a full tasting menu - I stuck to the reds as I normally do. Their wines are all consistently good, it's hard to go wrong with any of them. TLDR; stop here first and keep your glass for a discount at other wineries, have lunch, enjoy! read more

Amazing pizza and wine. The service could use a little bit of improvement but the management was great. Would recommend as one of the best places for lunch in the Sonoita wine region. Extra points for its prime location and walkability from the Sonoita inn. Can't wait to return. read more

What a fabulous restaurant! Nice atmosphere and amazing food! My wife's family has a Ranch nearby and Dos Cabezas is always a must stop when we are in the Sonoita area. The pizza is wonderful paired with the house Rose'. Highly recommended! read more

Dos Cabezas Wineworks - Tasting Glass - Wineries Near Me - Sonoita, Arizona

Our first time visiting. Overall experience was so, so. We wanted to try some wine and get some pizza. We obviously came at a bad time for the pizza. Our server told us the pizza oven was going to be down for an hour. We said we would wait, because we were hungry. He assured us we would be some of the first pizzas out as soon as the pizza oven was up and running. An hour and a half passed and our server came back and told us we would have our pizzas out in 5-15 minutes. Almost a half hour went by and five pizzas came out, none of which were ours. Admittedly we were getting a little upset. He went to check and told us ours would be coming out next. The pizza was good. I did find a hair on mine (possibly dog). I would go back and give them a second chance. Maybe it was just an off day. It just seems insane to shut your pizza oven down during a busy Saturday. read more

My wife and I have been coming here for years, and finally became members 3 years ago. For anyone coming to Sonoita for a day trip, start off here and enjoy some great wood fired pizza and i would be surprised if you didn't take some wine home. Relaxed atmosphere with a large screened front porch and plenty of indoor seating with a back outdoor partially covered patio. Come early as often the wine buses stop here around 11:30 and it becomes packed on a Saturday. A must stop. read more

I have been here twice and both times I had great experiences! Service was top notch servers were attentive and friendly made suggestions. Lots of seating choices cute front screened in patio and nicely shaded patio and seating in the wine tasting room and more by the bar! First time I went with my boyfriend and we shared a flight of wine and Pepperoni+ pizza. The Pizza was phenomenal! I'm more of a sweet wine girl and waiter helped me pick wines that were good all dry but smooth. 2022 Pink was my favorite, White 2022 was really good and 2016 El Campo was a bold red but a good pick. The second time I came in with my boyfriend and best friend and her boyfriend, we had great service and enjoyed bread with matcha butter which was delicious and I had the carbonated pink which I think is not quite as good as the bottled un-carbonated one. And had the Allred which was yummy but personally I like the pepperoni+ more. I can't wait to go back and try their desserts! Also I forgot my hat and the sweet ladies working tried to run it out to me and I missed them and turned around a minute later they had it behind the bar for me. read more

A warm cozy atmosphere, friendly service and very good wine. I'd never heard of wine from Arizona, so I was presently surprised by the quality of the wines. I did a flight tasting and everything was superb. The white was delicious and dry and my wife decided to skip the flight for a full glass after the first taste. I continued the flight with reds and was once again pleased. We ordered the snack tray with olives, cheese, breads, meats and veggies. Simply delicious. We bought two bottles to go and enjoyed the at our air b&b. My only regret was we did not have room to eat the pizza which looked incredible. Oh, I did have one problem. We forgot to take home our beautiful plastic wine glasses that came with the tasting. Oh well. Perhaps next time I'm in Elgin. read more

Dos Cabezas Wineworks - Delicious wine! - Wineries Near Me - Sonoita, Arizona

Absolutely love this place. Terrific wine and the winemakers are amazing folks. Great food & great staff make this a must in Sonoita.

Pizza was good. Only one waitress to serve all of the outdoor dining made the service slow. When we did get service, our sever was very nice but she needed help to cover the needs of all the tables she was responsible for. read more

Wife and I were looking for something new, came across this place and had a customer in parking lot telling us how great it was. Boy are we glad we stopped...the snacks aren't crap like most vineyards and the wine was great...freshly baked bread - hell yeah we'll be back and we'll bring friends and family for sure. This place is awesome!!!! read more

Love this place. The best hand-picked local organic exquisite foods accompanying wonderful wines. The quality of this place is in a class of its own, compared to the other local wineries, which have lousy food carts on the side, separately, accompanying their wines. read more

Good pizza. Great food. Terrible service. We waited an hour and a half and never received our food, ended up leaving as we couldn't wait any longer. We were never told of a wait for food nor was anyone giving us updates on the food/service situation. We weren't checked on for 45 minutes and waitresses kept passing by our table, looking at us and never acknowledged. We walked outback and there was no one working in the kitchen/trailer. Very upset about our visit and advise anyone to be weary of the service. read more

Dos Cabezas is one of the first wineries you see in Sonoita - it's just a bit out of "town" with beautiful views of the mountains. Unfortunately you can't sip your wine in the porch or the patio- that's not the winery's fault, it's due to local ordinances. Anyway, Dos Cabezas was our first stop of the day and it was "good". The tasting (6 pours) was $10 so the most expensive of the day. That does include a plastic glass - if you want a real glass I think it was $14, but then you can reuse it at other places. Apparently they do a sparkling that is out of this world good but that was not available in our trip - I thought the wines were pretty good but not great enough to justify the per bottle prices (mostly $30+). We did grab a bottle of their Pink for $19 - I really did like that one. Staff was pleasant but not overly engaging or interested in telling us about what we were sampling. Overall, it's a nice stop and I'd go back to try that sparkling. read more

Holy pizza and wine! Seriously outstanding wood fired pizza using locally sourced ingredients, quite possibly the best food you can find in Sonoita. The wine is excellent as well. Did a flight and enjoyed every wine I had. Fun decor and nice atmosphere. Staff is so incredibly kind as well! (Also pet friendly, like most spots in Sonoita, so that's a plus too!) read more

Awesome place! Great wine & charcuterie. Best chorizo I've ever had. Cute little place. Didn't try the pizza but it looked amazing!! Make sure to get the magic bar for dessert. Just don't eat the whole thing! read more

Stopped in for the wines and they have Pronghorn Pizza under the same roof. We were lucky enough to have Kelly, one of the owners, as our server. She took plenty of time to help with the wine selections and we went with the cheese plate which was very flavorful. Ordered a Griffin pizza and it was very tasty as well. Turns out it was named after one of her sons. We will be back and would definitely recommend everyone one to stop in. Thank you Kelly and staff! read more

The fun filled wine tasting weekend I had planned for my birthday turned out to be a wash - literally, when the monsoons brought flash flooding to Elgin and we had to cancel the trip. On our way out of town, we decided to stop into Dos Cabezas Wineworks which was easily accessible right off the main drag. This cute tasting room ended up being our little oasis in the midst of all the rain. Besides one other group, my boyfriend and I had the place to ourself and a great opportunity to talk with the owner and learn more about the vineyard while enjoying our tasting learn. When he heard about the failed birthday plans, he sent us home with one of the flourless chocolate cakes they were selling on the house. That paired with sweet white blend bottle we brought home was the perfect way to end the day. We will definitely stop by again on a sunny day! read more

OMG. I did not expect this. We knew the wine was stellar but food in Sonoita is usually good but not amazing. This pizza was amazing. We ordered to melon salad and the pepperoni pizza with the Macha salsa. Unbelievably good. Not one complaint. Tons of kudos. Best pizza in 200 miles. Yum. read more

We stopped here for 2 reasons. Wine and Pizza. But be aware, the pizza oven takes "breaks". We were told an hour for pizza which we agreed to. Had a glass of wine each which we drank slowly, waiting for pizza. At $15 and up a glass, I wasn't too excited about drinking more than 1 glass while waiting for the pizza oven to finish its break so I can have a $20 pizza. 2 hours later, we got our pizza. The pizza was good but by that point we were extremely irritated over the long wait. With all the wineries in town only open until 5 or 6, wasting 2 1/2 hours in one over priced winery waiting for pizza was not worth it. I probably will not return next time we are in town. No fault of our server who did his best. read more

This wine can be bought across Arizona. It was great to go to the actual winery and try a bunch of their wines. They offer great wines! Try the El Norte, it is fantastic! read more

White, Pink, Red. That is what keeps us coming back. This is a terrific tasting room and there is a nice patio out back. The staff are friendly and generous with the pour. The pourers are very knowledgable and you can learn as much as you want to about the wine, the grapes, the trials and tribulations of being a winemaker in AZ. Todd and Kelly Bostock, the wineworkers as they call themselves, were named "winemakers to watch in 2015" by the San Francisco Chronicle. I love red wine and their bottle simply called Red is my favorite. El Norte is a higher price point and was even served at the White House. If you are in the area, this is a must-stop. Take a case home. Across the street, you'll find their wines for sale in the general store and the mark-up is already apparent. read more

Thanks a bunch for allowing us to bring in our own snacks to enjoy with your fabulous wine samples. We stopped in on an early Sunday mid-day and were enchanted with the wines we sampled. We took home a bottle of Rose that was really special. Thanks again for the warm welcome and information regarding your winery and the surrounding area. read more

Had a wonderful experience here as we always do. The wine is beautifully fine and great pizza and staff. Thank you for the fun time.

Another great solid winery in Sonoita/Elgin. Great selection to choose from based on your preferences. Highly recommend visiting, Dos Cabezas in a must every time we visit! Very relaxing environment and solid selection of wines! read more

Meh. All but one of the wines comes from a vineyard in Willcox, the other is from a local vineyard. Most people seemed to be here for the pizza. We each tried six pours. My husband enjoyed a couple of the reds, but I did not like any of the five reds that I tried. The server was very friendly and pleasant. The price was right, but I was disappointed in the quality of the wines. read more

Our first and favorite stop on a weekend of wine tasting in the area. Friday, empty. Lots of attention of course. We liked their wines so much, we came back the next day on our way out just to buy 2 bottles. What can I say? I'm not a wine connoisseur....I know when i like a wine and when i don't. I like reds, and sipping cold sweet wines. It's more about the experience at wine tastings than the wines to me. Although it was subdued, I have to go against my former advice and say I did like the wines here more than the other places on our adventure. They also had the coolest t-shirts. Buy a plastic wine cup and you get a discount at all the other wineries. Plus it's great for camping! read more

Of all the wineries on the Sonoita/Elgin loop, this one is the must-stop. They have the nicest tasting room and a great patio. In the peak season, they sometimes serve food as well. They also have the most varietals, I think, so you get A LOT of samples to try and you are sure to find something you like. The other big plus is that they are right in the middle of town so you... A. - can't get lost and B. - can walk somewhere close by to eat if you need to sober up a bit before driving on. The downside is that they don't have an actual vineyard there, just the tasting room. But most of the other places around here (as well as the ones up North in Verde Valley) get the bulk of their grapes from Wilcox anyway. It is great to see a winery around here doing so well. Other than AZ Stronghold, Dos Cabezas makes my favorite Arizona wines. read more

This tasting room is pretty pricey at $15 a flight- to be fair, they do give you quite a lot of samples (more than some of the other tasting rooms), and this of course is the price including the glass which you take home. None of the wine blew me away, I enjoyed the tempranillo, but as it sat in the glass it changed flavor and wasn't all I thought it was initially. It's a nice place to stop in if you're driving through the area...but if you're driving through the area you might as well visit the other vineyards in the area ;) The woman pouring was nice, but didn't really engage or speak with us about the wines. Oh well. I will probably leave this room out of our Sonoita tasting rotation. read more
