This place is located in the town of Oregon,Illinois. Being Texican my coworkers and I tried it out and the place did not disappoint. I have tried their Queso Fundido with chorizo, their Carnitas which were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the Enchiladas with carne asada. The a service was fast and friendly even though it was dinner time. The place full and they were playing Mexican Music in the background so the ambience was great. Just finished a long day of racing, and decided to have Mexican before I head back. Got my menu at 2:46pm and then bill came at 3:22pm. It was pretty quiet and I dined alone, everything I ordered arrived. I was planning to order dessert or another drink once I got through some of what I had, oh well. That ruined my mood quick, so I paid and just sat there working on my meal. Really enjoyed the Burrito Grande, it was quite "grand" and beefy. The melted cheese mixed with the sour cream was so sweet, I savored every bite. The Regular Pina Colada Margarita didn't taste of alcohol whatsoever, it was more of a slushy, that didn't melt fast enough...since I was rushed. Whatever concoction the shrimp was in, didn't add any flavor or anything to the shrimp. Overall, weird day. I was probably better off with the original plan of Taco Bell. read more

I got ordered it for take out the other day and it was amazing! I ordered 3 plain steak tacos and it was still hot and they ever sent chips and salsa with it! The employees were super friendly and willing to make accommodations. I highly recommend coming here for some good Mexican food! read more

Nice place to grab lunch close to work. The food and service is always good. The margaritas are just ok and a bit pricey $12 for a regular size soda glass. The black light wall murals are worth the visit itself. read more

This place is awesome. The owners, servers, and everyone bent over backwards to make sure we had a great experience. Enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa upon arrival. Had the shrimp chimichanga grilled. I was offered choice of grilled or deep fried. Much healthier grilled. Yummo! Friend had the paella, he couldn't finish, but loved it. My other buddy had enchiladas and was quite happy with it. I was talked into dessert. They had chimichanga cheesecake which was quite interesting, but extraordinarily filling. I am now stuffed! El Gordo!! Ha ha!!! Prices are reasonable, you definitely get what you pay for. Props to staff and mgmt here! Gotta stop here. read more

We were in town for an appointment and decided to have dinner, we have passed Dos Amigos many times so we decided to try it. They have ample free parking on both sides of the building with seating inside and out. The place appeared to be clean and easy to get around except the floor inside was rather slick which was concerning. They have both booths and table and chairs. Shortly after we sat down we were served complimentary chips and salsa they were fresh and tasty. We ordered a beef chimi meal which came with rice, beans and salad. I ordered the chimi with the cheese sauce on the side and it came as requested. The other meal was I believe call Shrimp Yucatan with tortillas, rice and salad, it was very good and a little different than i have had before. I have to say the service was outstanding and could not have been more attentive. Our drinks were kept full and our food was served quickly, hot and fresh. read more

The Chili Colorado was great. I would put up against anything in the southwest. I love green chili and don't get it much in this area.

I was excited to try anything from this place so I was greeted very friendly even though they were a little bit busy and they let me take a menu out to my car cause I was with my dog and I took my time and their patient and I got the steak fajitas which is skirt steak, I had it well done I got extra salsa extra cheese on the side and lime and it was so good and I had plenty left over and it came with chips! I will definitely order this again and I'm excited to try other things and also the restaurant look nice and fun so I look forward to sitting down and chilling down I'm eating more of the friendly staff! Best margarita I've had in a looooong time! Our meals (#10 and 2) didn't disappoint. Flavorful rellenos topped with a tomato sauce, taco (beef--well seasoned) and enchiladas (chicken and beef) were simple but fresh. For me, the sign of things to come is foreshadowed in the beans and rice. So many can be bland. These were lick-the-platter-clean delicious. Service was friendly and we were asked several times if we were enjoying our meal. Great little find in this town with other good options. Next time we are visiting and have a craving for Mexican , we will make a stop! read more

We arrived here ravenous after a hike at the Statepark around 3pm, ready to eat anything in sight a big party of 11....our waiter seemed a bit overwhelmed with the group bcos he was the waiter, bartender whatever else. Our food was the best, this side of the border. We ordered a ton a stuff but special mention for the michelada(beer+bloody mary) , I didn't quite like the margarita but everything else on the menu from chimichanga to enchiladas, fajitas and tacos were good. In town on a trip and see that this restaurant had a 4 star. This was the worst Mexican food I've ever eaten. If I could give a negative star I would. So my travel companion and I get seated. Big bowl of chips and salsa. There's a positive. Order basic chimichanga and enchiladas. Awful. Both of ours. Just hamburger meat browned and thrown in a tortilla. Nothing else. If cheese was on them is was waved over it and missed the plate. Beans were watered down. Soupy even. Rice no flavor. This town may think it's good Mexican food but I assure you it's not. I travel a lot. Worst part was after finishing the meal and hitting the men's room I watched as one of the cooks did his business and then left the room without washing up. We always have a good meal at Dos Amigos. My husband loves the fajita's and I love the margaritas. All meals come off of the kitchen fast and hot. So if you are starving and starting to get hangry this is the perfect place to grab dinner. read more

we stopped in here for lunch as our daughter was playing in a basketball tournament. the food was awful. I had the taco salad which there was hardly any ground beef and it was so greasy and they melted a white cheese sauce on it and topped it with shredded lettuce. it wasn't edible at all. my husband ordered fajitas for one with just onion no peppers and the first time it came out with peppers and we sent it back and the second time it came out with onion and tomatoes. whatever he ate it but it had no seasoning to it so it was bland. the chips and salsa were good but I would never return to this restaurant. service was below average as well. read more
