Came to this unassuming Mexican restaurant in Byron. Dos Amigos is one of the few places to get such cuisine around here. It has pretty limited choices around here for any kind of ethnic food obviously. Find something pretty typical like burritos, tacos, and more. This certainly isn't the most authentic but it has pretty good flavors and stuff. Best thing of course is the drinks. It's of course got lots. These are better than much of the food, but the food isn't bad though. A value when thinking about it. It's about $6 for a margarita. Add a buck to put in a flavor. The food menu has the expected stuff. It's about $12 for the Vegetarian Fajitas. Our options were kind of limited with all the meaty items. These come with bell peppers, broccoli, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, and zucchini. Also comes with plenty of side items. These included beans, guacamole, lettuce, pico de gallo, rice, and sour cream which I left off. Also a few tortillas to put these in. There's always never enough of these. Good place to get Americanized Mexican food. It's actually a little more authentic than many local Mexican restaurants. There's meaty items along with some things for vegetarians. read more

As a former Southern California resident for 18 years, I'm always on the hunt for authentic Mexican cuisine. Walking in, it has the look and feel of a touristy type place meets dive bar. The staff is very personable. Pretty busy Friday night but we were served pretty quickly. Ordered the guacamole and was not overly excited. Not chunky and felt "watered down". The fajitas rancheros were well seasoned and very flavorful. Only provided with four tortillas but was able to ask for more. So good flavor for the most part but not truly authentic Mexican food. read more

We went there 3 times in 2 days, we were at a wrestling tournament. The Margaritas were Perfect. The salsa was just right not too spicy. The roof was delicious , there was 5 of us, the 2 dinners we had were different and could not of been better. Years ago we stayed in Old Mexico in San Diego , my husband has always said it was the best food. Now he says this restaurant was the BEST. Waiters and Waitress were so kind and nice. They almost ever time make a burrito; incorrectly after going over with order, taker 3 times! Plus, they charge customers a fee to eat there over and above their restaurant menu cost, they charge customers to pay the fees. Their businesses are supposed to pay.! read more

Food was good, margaritas were excellent. 5 people in our group at 5p on Saturday afternoon. Food came out very quickly. 2 people were still eating and waitress came asking if we wanted any boxes. When she brought the boxes back, the 2 people were still eating & she brings the check also (?) We were going to order a 2nd margarita but I guess she felt she didnt need to come check on us again since she had already slipped us the check...which was not itemized, just our food items and total owed. I have never felt so rushed to eat & leave! Later on a guy in our group mentioned that when he went to the restroom one of the kitchen staff was coming out. There was plenty of parking and entry was somewhat handicap accessible. The restaurant inside and out looked clean and well kept. The restroom was very clean and handicap accessible. I wouldn't say the service was great, it was ok nothing good or bad stands out no was overly friendly or that efficient. The food was ok some of our plates were very hot while one wasn't even warm. The flavor of the rice was very good and we all enjoyed it. The chips were unique and tasty. The salsa was very good both the mild and the house made hot was outstanding. The chimichanga was good but nothing different than most chimi's. The cheese quesadilla was flat, dried out and flavorless. The cobo plate was ok, the taco consisted of shell, ground beef and lettuce. The burrito was ground beef wrapped in a flour shell with a little tiny bit of cheese on top. The enchilada was ground beef wrapped in a shell with a little red sauce on it. The meat was the same in all of them and it was very light on flavor. We came in around noon on a Saturday and got seated right away and the sever came quickly with warm nachos and salsa. The salsa was blended to a sauce and a little bland but okay. I ordered the chicken taquitos and my husband ordered a burrito which came with rice and beans. The taquitos were greasy to the point the grease was dripping onto the plate. So unfortunately that overpowered the whole flavor. It was served with a pico de gallo which was on it's way out and guacamole that was just okay. Great, simple, authentic Mexican. We've had a huge variety of items up and down their menu and have never been disappointed. Carne asada tacos and steak burrito are my favorites. Sorry but extremely disappointed. Stop in occasionally passing through town. Food was cold and extremely below average. Restaurant was also very dirty. Ate less than half the meal and left early. Will try again and hopefully things will improve. Service was fast and friendly. read more

Dos is apparently known for their margaritas. They certainly aren't known for their food or service. The food is bland- I can make much better Mexican rice than theirs just by following the Pioneer Woman's recipe. The service is slow, food is slow coming out of the kitchen. I think if you're going there to drink, it's fine. If you're going there because it's Byron and there aren't many options, it's fine. If you're going there for decent food, pick someplace else. read more

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant of all time. I would totally recommend it to anyone who's passing through Byron. I'd go to the original Byron restaurant but the Oregon location is also very good. Every time I eat there I can't go without having there beans and rice. I do not live in the area, but stopped here on my way to another destination. The service was prompt and the wait staff very friendly. I was not impressed with the food. I ordered the two enchilada plate. While it was delivered promptly, and was hot, it had zero flavor. The ground beef was the consistency of a pate' and all the ingredients on the plate had absolutely no flavor--enchiladas, ranchero sauce, beans and rice--not even salt.
