Normal yearly hours are Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. The 6,000 sq ft pentagon-shaped splash pad features multiple jets of streaming water from 35+ water features (devices that spray, shoot, or dump water on you). There is a giant bucket that dumps gallons of water onto anybody that stand below it. Children who are not toilet-trained yet must wear a swim diaper. Water shoes are highly recommended. There are restrooms and there is a shelter that is perfect for relaxing in the shade while kids are still in view. Though, I would check before counting on hanging out in the shelter, as it can be reserved by other people for parties. There are a few benches, but I suggest bringing your own lawn chairs. There isn't much shade so you might want to wear a hat, carry an umbrella, and wear lots of sunscreen. There is no place to store your stuff, so make sure you bring a bag that is easy to carry. Really wish there were lockers. Make sure to bring your own towels. Residents (who live within town limits and pay Fuquay Varina property tax) can visit the splash pad for free, but must have a Resident Splash Pad card (which can be picked up at the Community Center during regular business hours of Mon-Fri 8 am-9 pm; Saturday 8 am-5 pm). You have to bring a proof of residency (driver's license, a utility bill, or some other proof of residency). A new card will be issued each year. If you do not live within city-limits of Fuquay Varina or if you live in another town, there is a $2 charge per person for all-day admission (which can be paid by cash or credit card). One parent will be admitted without charge. Children under the age of 2 are free of charge. All children under 13 are required to have parental/adult supervision.

We played on the side next to the tennis courts and it did have some updates. 1 of the slides was repaired, which was nice to see. They have a sizable restroom and lots of picnic tables under a pavilion. There are baseball fields and a paved walking path all the way around the park. They just installed a new fitness center for adults in the farthest field from the SRAC. My personal favorite is the playground with the pirate ship and rubber mats under all the equipment. My only complaint for today was that they had fresh mulch delivered, it looked like it was sitting, waiting to be spread and it was on top of one of the slides so the equipment couldn't be used. Other than that, it's a great park!

I had several tiny rock hit my car as he was blowing air into my car. I would think its common since if your using the weed eater or an leaf blower you have the use it so when u cut the grass nothing would fly onto the cars or the people but they don't care about that so there is grass, rocks and stick thrown up in the air which can hit a car or a person!

You can tell these animals are well cared for as well, just keep in mind that they are rescues and we don't know what they have been through before they arrived. the entrance fee is more than reasonable for the experience.

Absolute WORST experience I've had in a very, very long time. After being checked in, my family…read more(three children and 3 adults) went down to get our floats, got in the water and started to float (no staff was there to help or assist like any other rafting or float place I've been), the staff said it would take about 5 hours (it took 6) - the wind was against us that day and I had to essentially pull us the entire 2 miles - all the while being blown back in the opposite direction. There was brush all along the bottom of the river slowing everyone down. When we finally got to the end, we had to ask someone that happened to be fishing where the exit ramp was. No signage, no staff to help, but a missed call from the front office asking where we were. When we finally got up the ramp, I called and they seemed annoyed and surprised we were 20 minutes after the last group. The driver was quiet and acted mad that he had to come get us, upon check out the lady up front said we had to pay a fee because we were 20 mins "late" (no mention of this in person or anywhere physically visible) - how in the heck can we help the river being low and the wind working against us? $300 plus $60 late fee turned our trip into a nightmare. They need staff in the water guiding/assisting, which they don't have, in case something does happen. Main takeaway - DO NOT GO HERE. It's terrible and the staff seemed annoyed that they even had to be there. JUDGING FROM THE REVIEWS, THEY DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK - actually scan thru and read them, but read the RESPONSES from Cape Fear River Adventures as well - GO TO "LOWEST" up top under "SORT BY" and read them ALL - these are normally buried so far down that people don't see them. Many reviews are super similar and it's definitely obvious that they don't take criticism well AT ALL - keep that in mind too! STAY AWAY. This place gives Lillington a bad name.
