Amazing experience, super cool animals and very interactive. The staff is really friendly and informative!

I took my family on an outing to Animals Edventures Sanctuary; and, we had a fantastic time! The guides were very informative. They let us explore at our own pace, but they were around if we had any questions. The animals look healthy and happy; and, they appear to be well cared for too. If you don't want to make the long trip to the big zoo, Animal Edventures Sanctuary is a great substitute because you can experience many different species of animals in their habitats. We got to give the camel and some of the other farm type animals snacks. The entrance fee is very reasonable to see all of the different animals because otherwise, you might not get those experiences. I did want to pet more of the animals, but we didn't. It might have been because of the time that we went or maybe it just wasn't a safe thing to do for the animals or us.

Absolute hidden gem! We stopped with our 18 and 14 year olds, and we all had a blast. Friendly people, fun animals, excellent experience. Thank you for such a great time!

What a cool little place! I highly recommend the trip! There were about 200 animals on site; many are in enclosures but there are several that roam the property: a big friendly dog, some peacocks, a couple of big pigs, cats and even a pair of kangaroos at the time we went. Things aren't fancy here but we left feeling really connected and involved with the animals. We paid an additional fee to have a private encounter with Betsy the sloth and Teddy the monkey: well worth it! ( $20.00 per person per private animal encounter) We were able to pet and feed both and learned a great deal from staff member, John, who hosted the encounters. Everyone there made us feel welcome and really seemed to enjoy working there. Time wise- we spent a couple of hours here and saw it all. I love what they are doing here and will make sure that next time I'm in the area, I visit again!

501 c sanctuary for various animals. The animals are well cared for and it is an educational experience. I would recommend this to anyone: adult or child.

I'd been hearing about this place for weeks before I finally got the chance to visit, and I'm so glad I did! The animals seem happy and relaxed, and the staff really cares about them. It's not as organized as a zoo style experience (because it isn't a zoo) so if that irks you maybe steer clear, but I thought it was phenomenal. The kangaroos as well as several dogs and a couple pigs roam the property freely. All of them are friendly and a blast to interact with. (I even got to hang out with a baby kangaroo!) Having the chance to chat with the owner while I was there was very informative and I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun, different and educational way to spend a weekend

You never know what amazing places that are hidden I your backyard. Never knew that out in the country on 12 acres of land it's an amazing sanctuary that house so many animals. Great place for families, especially the kiddos. So many animals roam free and you could touch them. So if you love animals and are looking for an outdoor adventure you should really look into this place, and the low admission helps give the rescues a home.

I'm not mad that we came here and tried something new. But, I wouldn't come again. It's pretty small for the price (around $38 for a family of four) it's not set up very well, and it's around someone's house. Most of the animals you could see anywhere (pigs, chickens, horses). I would have rather got to spend more time with the two kangaroos on the property. Or more time with the mini horses.

We learned of Noah's Landing when they brought some of their animals up to Durham for the Great American Tobacco Duck Race. Decided to do down to Coats, NC this weekend to see the whole thing. Very glad we did. Noah's landing is a private zoo of mostly rescued animals about an hour drive from Raleigh. The price is very cheap - $10 for adults, $8 for kids. This comes with a two hour personally guided tour. Unlike most zoos this tour has you face to face (feeding, petting, etc.) the animals - see my pictures. Make sure you bring good walking shoes and a camera on your visit. Our tour started at 11:00, lasted for over two hours and was personally guided by Nathan. Nathan was knowledgeable on all of the animals, was very attentive to our kids and made the experience one of the best outings out family has had together in years. My personal favorite was their monkey who loves his back rubbed. Our kids' favorite was the Cockatoo that sang Old McDonald. The kids loved feeding the horses, donkeys, zebras, rabbits, tortoises, llamas, and yaks with carrots (they provide).

MEEEE-OW!!!! These guys rock!!!…read more I am a traveling contractor who does not get the opportunity to be at home with my pets very often and the majority of that responsibility goes to my partner. With an ill pet, all you want to know is, "Is he going to be ok?" "Is she getting better?" Our pets are more than a part of our family, they ARE our family. When my pet, Sparky, became distant and annoyed, and began to eat less, he also had a growth on his chin that I could not help him with...because I am not a doctor. Ah-ha! I reached out to HOPE Animal Rescue and I can't be more grateful. They stepped in and helped get Sparky to a veterinarian within a few days, after the application process was completed, and Sparky is a HAPPY CAT. Laurel was especially helpful in that she made the process seem like there wasn't a process...even though we all know what it takes to get things done today. Feats like this are not marginal notes in life...they are magnificent, loving, caring moments in time that help us to remember, "Wow. I really don't feel so alone out here in the world." I cannot say enough about HOPE Animal Rescue. In a way, Hope Animal Rescue rescued my pet AND me, because I was so distraught over what was happening to him and the not knowing is what creates the fear. Thank you to Laurel and the entire VOLUNTEER staff and businesses that help to support Hope Animal Rescue. You rescued the best part of me today...and if you're doing that for me, I know that you're doing this for a lot of other people. THANK YOU for all of the hard work that you're doing out there for the animals that aren't a part of our health care system.

Great system in place. Adopted my dog easily and they confirmed it was the best place for the dog.read more

We adopted a 3 year old pit mix named Preston from MADR last year. Preston was living with a foster family who took great care of him and brought him to adoption events. We saw Preston on Petfinder and fell in love. We called the rescue and talked with his foster mom, Sherry. We could immediately tell how much she cared for her fosters. She gave background on Preston and interviewed us to make sure he would be a good fit. He is high energy and was not trained so he needed an active family of experienced dog owners. We knew he would be perfect as long as he got along with our other dog. We met the rescue in Fayetteville at an adoption event. Sherry was experienced with introducing new dogs. Preston and my other dog, Zeus, thankfully hit it off. Preston immediately took to Zeus and Zeus quickly accepted him as his new younger brother. The rescue offers a trial period before paying the adoption fee. We were very confident Preston would be a perfect fit so we went ahead and paid the fee the same day. The rescue gave us his vet papers, heart worm meds, rabies tag, harness, and leash. Preston was already neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations. We love him so much and take him everywhere we can. He loves swimming in the pool, shopping with me, hiking, running, and playing at the dog park. He now knows how to fetch! He is incredibly sweet and certainly high energy. We are very appreciative for Sherry and Making a Difference Rescue. Overall, excellent experience adopting from this rescue and we certainly recommend this rescue to others!

I wish I could give a better review, but my experience here was incredibly disappointing…read more I took an entire week off work specifically to adopt a kitten and help it adjust to its new home before I returned to 8-hour shifts. On the first day of my time off, I visited Fayetteville Animal Protection Society. I spent two hours playing with the kittens, taking my time to bond and carefully choose the right one -- something I thought any adoption center would appreciate. After deciding, I was told to complete an online application. I did so promptly and walked back to the front desk to inform the staff and ask about the next steps. Instead of a friendly response or guidance, I was met with a cold, dismissive "What else you need?" from the woman at the desk (African American lady) When I let her know I had completed the application, all she said was, "It'll take 2-4 business days," with no further information or care. I wasn't told anything about the specific kitten's adoption status, how many others had applied, or even what to expect next. Over a week has now passed, and I've received zero communication. What's most frustrating is that I could've gone to another shelter and likely adopted a kitten the same day -- but instead, I wasted my entire week off waiting on a process no one explained. If you're serious about adopting and want to feel respected and informed during the process, I'd strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

The application is…read moreextensive, but for good reason, they want to make sure the animals they've worked so hard to keep healthy and happy end up in a good home for them. I have family who fosters animals and we are all blown away by how well behaved and quick to adjust this dog was, and I feel the application helps them make sure the animals go to the best fitting home for them. She had multiple vet checkups during her time at FAPS too and we came home with medications, treats, food, toys, and paper documents of medical records all included in the adoption. The volunteer that took her outside to meet us when we were first there was also so kind and lovely, we talked for probably 15-20 minutes about the dog her pets and trails nearby. It took us two business days to get a phone call to notify us we were approved. If we were to adopt another animal in the future this place would 100% be my first choice! I don't think I could've picked a more perfect dog for my family if I tried, we are all so happy (maybe not the cat... but he's getting there ).

I had received a notification that Black Dog had a poodle for adoption and so I let her know. We sent an inquiry to the rescue and were told when the operating hours were. Unfortunately, she didn't fill out an application and we couldn't get a hold of anyone at the rescue so the dog had been adopted by someone else. Wish someone would've answered the phone before we drove all the way out there! I will say this however, this is a place that truly loves animals. They have it all. They have the cutest chickens (some Polish mix which are my very favorites), cows, a few very very spoiled, and pampered cats (one who may break all Guinness records because he is 22) and of course the dogs. Each dog has it's own kennel. On the property they have a very long dog run as well as an agility course for exercise. These dogs were all actively trying to get our attention as a sort of 'Look at me!!' sense of excitement. When we pulled in, we saw the cutest little girl happily towing a newly adopted dog. The look on her face had you think that this would be a precious relationship for that very lucky dog. They were *extremely* helpful and provided my mom with a paper application for her to fill out so that the next time they get a Poodle, she will be already on their list for approval. I honestly hope that it works out this way. I can't imagine a nicer group of people that honestly care for animals providing my mom with her next Prince to spoil.

The young lady at the counter said to put them under the Christmas tree where I saw about a dozen different types of animal donations. Unfortunately my spouse is highly allergic to animals, but I love dogs so I just donate what I can from time to time. I asked if I could take a look at the dogs even tho we can't adopt. Not only was I told yes, but if I wanted cuddle time with any just let her know. Be still my heart! So I went back to the kennel area and the first dog greeted me with non stop barking. Well, that's a fine howdy do! Turns out all the kennels were full and this first dog was the only one making a racket. The rest were so eager and friendly with tails waging wildly and eyes that begged to be taken home. They really tugged at my heart strings and by the time I reached the last kennel my eyes were welling up. I knew cuddle time with any one of them would make me have a major eye leak so said my good byes to them and said their new homes and owners would be there soon. As I opened the door from the kennel area a young couple was making their way to it. I gave them a heads up on the loud one in the first kennel, but said the rest would be happy to see them. Fingers crossed they didn't go home without one of these sweet pups!

The big open space near the front of the store, during adoption events, usually has a large open top cage for the dogs. Like Kristen said in her review, there's a lot of space here, and not a lot of product. But, what they do carry, at least in the non-food items, is a little different than what you'll find in the big box stores. The mugs and picture frames, for example, are adorable.
