So upset with this experience at dorman. I usually love this place! This time is not the worst set I've ever had but it's extremely lumpy and uneven, and the girl missed a whole spot on my nails. I was also in sooo much pain it felt like someone was holding a lighter to my nail beds. I tried to tell the girl that I didn't like what was happening multiple times but she just ignored me. I also asked her to get the underneath of my nails because it was a fill in and there was stuff trapped under the nail, well she didn't do that either. Me and two friends had pedicure appointments at 6:30 last night. The place was swamped, but they got us in quick. I had Danny and he did a good job! Very pleased. I've went here for years, and today I went and got a dip mani and gel pedi (my usual) The man made my nails too thick and bubbly, when I asked him to buff them thinner, he rudely told me no because people complain too much about their nails breaking. For the rest of the manicure he slammed down tools and was extremely rude. My pedicure was horrible, the hot towels were cold and the didn't match my nails right! The guy told me that from a far you couldn't tell even though he agreed it was too dark! They also didn't offer to fix anything and when I suggested, they said it wasn't bad... i Went and got my nails done on Wednesday and Tony is the one that does my nails. I have been going to Dorman Nails for about 6 months now. I went back the next day because I had done and pink and white I had a pink and & white ombre and when I go to was my hands the inside of my tips turned black. I came in as a walk in. i arrive at 9am in the morning no other customers we're present but me. I was in there 9 am almost 12 pm. Tony did assist me when he arrive and told me that it would be 1 hour Before he could get to me. He had a 9:30an pedicure with a client, but didn't tell me that he was getting her nails done, so the hour has pass and didn't even acknowledge to let me know. he mentioned that he was gonna do a free whole set. I waited patiently all that till almost 11:30 still no service. The owner has never been friendly since day one. So I had to let him know where I was coming from. I will never recommen no one to this place because the owner has a nasty attitude and I have been putting up with it for to long. My nails were done by Nick turned out nice. Rough on the edges but I can't complain that much. The lady that did my pedicure convinced me to do the upcharge and did none of the services for it. When I brought this to attention of the manager he said that she said she did everything. I told him she did not, and told him that my friend sat down 15 minutes before me and we finished at the same time. He told me that I just wasn't paying attention. I told him that I was and my friend watched me receive my services. He said "well the lady next to her said she did everything too" and repeated that I wasn't paying attention. On a Goldilocks scale, my tech was just right - not awkwardly quiet nor constantly talking to his coworkers in his native language. I like some simple, sporadic conversation. Normally the standard pedicure would suffice ($30), but I opted for next step up, which included callous removal, mint therapy and hot towel wrap for an extra 5 bucks. They have been so nice. It's great to go into a nail salon where you can actually relax. I have been going there for three months now, every other week. In the beginning, I would take whatever tech was there, and everyone was good. They did the job, the tools are sanitized, the bowls are cleaned immediately after each client, and the air quality is pretty good. Now, I recommend seeing Tom. He was the right fit for me, and everyone needs to find the right tech for them. He's the reason I keep regular appointments, and don't go to the spa with the newest chairs, the great art, and the subdued and muted muzak. My nail master is Wi. He's amazing and I get the gel over my own nails except when they become too brittle and I need tips put on. His work is so good, at least once a week a person will comment on how great my nails look. This is strange but it's been happening since I started using Wi years ago. He doesn't make them too thick and shapes them perfectly for my hand and each finger. They for sure look more natural than my own nails ever did! He does excellent work with feet too. I've used many people at this salon and I've never had a bad job. They do pedicures especially well. I've been coming to the salon for 11 years. That's every 2-3 weeks for 11 yrs. Their nail techs drill and use scraping utensils, to wear down your nail. I keep trying them but every time it's the same. I go, and my nails are strong, and healthy. After a few visits of them drilling your nails to death and scraping layers from your healthy nails; my nails are weak and thin again. I have to wait months for them to get right.
