I am nearing 60 years of age. This is the first time I have ever written a bad review, ever! Question: Why would I continue to pursuit this practice after my bad expirience? Answer: My insurance.
This is the most frustrating office staff I have ever encountered!
I have now been trying to make an initial appointment with Dr. Cage for a solid month.
My objective in writing this review is in hopes that Dr. Cage might become aware of my personal experience with her staff. Let me be clear, I have a rather serious hand problem and I understand Dr. Cage is the best available. However, it would seem she is the best available only for some. I feel targeted and my race discriminated against by her vindictive staff and I will now reject her care entirely as to avoid being retaliated against.
Dr. Cage may be a good surgeon for some. However, I won't assume she would side with common sense and me, against her own staff because, many small medical practices fear and dread corrective proceedings toward their own staff. Why? out of fear in retaliation upon themselves and having retaliation adversely effect their practice. A doctors staff, whether good, bad or indifferent are the lifeblood of the practice. Doctors have all been burned by poor performing staff.
This doctor may be caught between a hard place and rock, herself. It's not likely she will run out of patients but I had to ask myself, why? Why Barbara and the schedulers, Amy and Elise would discriminate so harshly against such a modest complaint made back in early June?
I only complained to Barbara about not being given the opportunity to make an initial first appointment because I was routinely being given an extension to which a voicemail must be left. Nobody has ever answerered the extension and I continued to leave voicemail messages requesting an appointment several times. No harsh language was used, no rude message was left.
So, I wondered, why so harsh? Until, I realized my last name is one of an ethnic minority. So, on July 2, 2019 early in the day, in a last attempt and limited of options due to my insurance. I once again, was directed by Barbara to the voicemail extension 1211 (Amy and Elise) in which I was forced to use my name. Hmmm.
I stood by my phone the entire rest of day until 5pm. I was not called back. Lastly, I was only called back twice in June 2019 ever. The last attempt to call me in order to schedule a first appointment was by Amy on June 19th and admittedly states in her message, a second attempt to reach me. Only a second attempt? And no attempts after June 19th. Hmmm.
Perhaps this negative review based on racial discrimination will help to counter any discriminative actions toward and against any ethnic individual seeking medical help from this medical practice in the future.
Now, what of my hand? read more
