I used to love this store so much. I would go in at least once a week and spend at least $100 at a time, until I had a horrible run in with their manager and I'm FOREVER turned off and don't think I'll ever go back. Worst customer service. I purchased three items on 5/25, didn't have time to try on and proceeded to tell the manager, who was the one who checked me out too, that I don't have time to try on, and she suggested a smaller size and told me the return policy was 10 days with receipt. Great, I thought, I'll take it home see what I like and return it if I don't need it (I had a family event the next day).
2 out of the 3 items weren't to my liking. One dress was too short and one skirt was way too big. I work 5 days a week, 8-10 hours a day and have a family to go home to. I figured I'll return it Sunday, which is the 7th day, exactly. I went back to return it yesterday, the manager was at the cashier. She looks through the stuff and decides that I WORE THE SKIRT AND DECIDED TO RETURN IT. She said the plastic part that holds the tag to the skirt isn't theirs (????) and that I must have taken it off and replaced it with my own tag (?!?!?!?). I was FLOORED. She proceeded to go around the store asking her workers if this is their tag and if it looks like it was worn. In front of 10+ customers. I stood there in shock because a) I've NEVER been so humiliated in my life and b) it's a $30 skirt, who wears and returns ANYTHING, let alone something that's $30???? I calmly, and almost inaudibly tried to explain to her that the skirt is too big and I can even try it on to show her that, and that I would never do such a thing, that she can even come to my house and search to see if I have these tags. I don't even know where you get tags to replace!!! She was so disgusting about the whole ordeal, proceeded to insinuate that I must have taken the tag off and worn the skirt. I was there with my under a year old daughter, being belittled by some pissed off manager who didn't want to handle a return. I even said to her you can keep the skirt, I have nothing to do with it.
I don't care about the $30. I don't care about the skirt I'll never wear. What I care about, is that she has the decency to berate me in front of people, try to insinuate that I would return used merchandise, and that I would go out of my way to replace tags. The worst part is, she took down my name and phone number and also labeled the receipt that the item was worn, in case of what - that I'd come back when you're not there and try to return it again? I've never been so disrespected, let alone humiliated in my entire life. I've never written one review (good or bad) about any establishment I've ever been to but this made me so furious, especially because I didn't do anything wrong. I used to LOVE coming here because they had the cutest things and I figured I'd help out a mom/pop shop in my neighborhood and the girls there are always so friendly. Even the manager used to be nice up until a certain point. Guess they cut her salary so she thinks she needs to piss all over everyone else. You get better help at Forever 21. read more
