One not professional when you come in, they don't greet you. Don't even bother walking in there they are prejudice. We went in to look for a prom dress. First of all they don't even let you walk and look for the or even bother to show you any dresses it was horrible plus they started closing doors like if we were going steal something we work we make good money. She messed out in good purchase just by looking at somebody's appearance or race!!!! so we went to Alfie 86th St. Much better treatment, not prejudice at all and we tried many dresses and you could actually see dresses that you like.... I never ever recommend anyone to go marinas unless you Russian they only like there kind Maybe they'll treat the Russians better I don't know, but it was a very horrible, horrible experience sad that my teenager niece has to experience that. read more

Upon receiving the wonderful news of my nieces engagement, I wanted to buy myself a beautiful gown for her wedding. I was very excited for my niece and my future nephew, but not very excited on shopping for a gown. I have been blessed to be invited to take part of numerous celebrations and have purchased many dresses, from black tie affairs to afternoon weddings, and everything in between. I have shopped at many boutiques and what should be a fun experience, turns out to be stressful. I can't tell you how many times I felt pressured from the owner or staff in buying a gown that I didn't even like, just for them to make the sale. I know exactly the style that looks nice on me and yet they try and steer my otherwise. As I walked into Marina Clothing, I immediately saw an immaculate , spotless, tastefully decorated boutique. I was greeted and asked to wait while they helped another women decide on her purchase. The place was loaded with gowns, all hung up neatly in plastic. I showed her a picture of a gown that I was interested in. No other store had it in stock, but Marina did. She opened the dressing room door for me and I was stunned with the spotless white floors, gorgeous floor mirror, a small settee, and clean hung robes, just WOW. I tried the dress on and loved it. I felt the dress was a bit too tight, and Marina actually agreed with me, I was so Impressed with her honesty. Many others would have argued about the size, just to sell the dress as is. She checked availability, ordered the dress the next size up and told me she will have the dress the next day. Sure enough I went today to pick up my gown. I told Marina that I will be shopping there again for another affair I have. Without me even asking, she brought out 5 gowns, one more beautiful than the next, and asked me to try them on just for fun. Never have I ever experienced this service, she made me feel like a princess and I felt zero pressure in making another purchase that day. I will be shopping here for all of my upcoming affairs. if i could give ZERO stars i would! i bought a dress online that didn't make it on time even with expedited shipping so i went in today in search for a last minute dress. i had to greet the ladies who were seated and they did not seem welcoming to me what so ever. i told the lady i was in search for a dress for a ball and that i had ordered a dress but did not come in time. i said i would like something similar to the dress i ordered online and showed her a picture. she had the nerve to ask how much did i pay for the dress. i answered saying $200 which she replied "we only sell dresses here $500 and up" i said ok well i mean what do you have then that maybe is close to something like this. she answered "nothing" and basically didn't show me not one dress. when i answered " really nothing ?" she answered "absolutely ". she looked so serious and did not even at least apologize or say "well i have nothing similar , but here are a few that would be nice on you ." i was willing to drop $500-$700. she treated me as if i was beneath her and didn't have the money. maybe it was because i'm hispanic or maybe it was because i was dressed very casual and inexpensive . i mean i just worked 9 hrs and been searching for a store right afterwards. never judge a book by its cover. i was getting a dress for a military ball. i also work for the city of new york. i was completely disgusted and felt so unwelcomed. their store looked sloppy too like it would be a hassle to even go through the dress rack. read more
