I order the same burger every visit, and this time it was cooked perfectly--hot, juicy, and delicious. The bartender was attentive, checked in when needed, and also gave me plenty of space to relax and enjoy my book without feeling rushed. It was a much more enjoyable experience all around, and I'm happy to see such an improvement. I'll definitely be back

We have always been fans of the McMenamins family of restaurants, hotels, and bars. After living in…read morethe Pacific Northwest for many years, we had the chance to visit quite a few of their locations and have always admired their unique approach to hospitality. One of the things we appreciate most is how McMenamins thoughtfully rehabilitates historic properties, preserving their character while giving them new life as welcoming places to gather. Each location seems to have its own personality and story, which makes visiting them feel special. Today, we had the opportunity to stop by this location, which we had not visited before. We were only planning to grab a quick lunch/dinner and get back on the road, so we didn't explore the property or dive into its history on this visit, but it's clearly a place worth spending more time at in the future. For our meal, my wife ordered a salad, I ordered a pizza, and we shared a side of Cajun tots with their housemade Ranch. Everything was enjoyable and hit the spot for a casual, satisfying stop. We'd happily return when we have more time to take in the full experience. A few things we've noticed over the years from our experiences with McMenamins: Many of their establishments introduce you to pieces of history you never really knew existed. There's often a surprising depth to the stories behind the properties, and even a quick visit can leave you wanting to learn more. Their beer can be very tasty and original, with a variety of offerings that feel thoughtfully crafted and true to their brand. As for the food, it generally lands in the realm of upscale bar fare, or perhaps bar food that wants to be upscale. Most menus are fairly similar from location to location. Don't get me wrong, the food is good and enjoyable; it just sometimes feels like it's presenting itself as something a bit more elevated than it actually is. The pricing tends to follow that same pattern, occasionally feeling a bit ambitious for what's being served. Service can be great, but it can also be hit or miss, and it's wise to be prepared to wait a little longer than expected at times. That said, the atmosphere and grounds at many of their locations are truly outstanding. You can wander the properties for quite a while at many of their locations and still not see everything. The level of detail throughout, both inside and out, is often absolutely amazing and is what really sets McMenamins apart.

The first thing you'll notice is the ample outdoor seating - perfect for enjoying a meal and/or drinks outside in nice weather, shaded by large trees. The vibe inside is cozy, with lots of stained wood and warm lighting. The front room has a fireplace, and the dark wood L-shaped bar is inviting. Decorating the walls are a large Jameson's Irish Whiskey mirror and a variety of photos, sayings, and Irish knickknacks. Absent the sound of a telltale accent, you won't know whether you're in Lake Oswego or Limerick. Somewhat hidden is a basement area with a TV, board games, shuffleboard, a dartboard, and mini-foosball table. There are a dozen or so beers on tap, including Guinness, of course. Pints are served in special Guinness glasses. Behind the bar are a nice selection of Scotch and Irish Whiskeys. Appetizer favorites include Bavarian Bangers (soft pretzel and banger sausage) and Pan Seared Brussel Sprouts. The menu includes staples (Fish N' Chips, Shepherd's Pie, Bangers & Mash, etc.) as well as a selection of sandwiches and burgers. The Dullahan is a great spot for a family outing or to meet friends, rain or shine!

We ordered Fish (Atlantic Haddock) and chips, chicken sandwich, and chicken wings with Jameson teriyaki sauce were soooo good. Chocolate cheese cake made in house was also good, and we will go back for their famous Irish bread pudding next time.
