Doorsteps at Conway Mill could easily be missed (drove past many times before noticing it myself) due to minimalist signage. Conway Mill is as expected by the name an old mill which is now a large multi use space, including hairdresser, make up artist, museum and Doorsteps to name a few things. Doorsteps can be hired for private functions and is fully licensed.
Been in a few times with colleagues for lunch as the prices are good, portions are generous and food is tasty. The frys are pretty darn good, a small fry is £3.95 and consists of one each bacon, sausage, egg, black pudding, potato bread, soda bread, half a fried tomato and some mushrooms. For an extra £1 you can upgrade to the large fry & get an extra egg, sausage & bacon.
Staff are friendly but tend to be under pressure at lunchtime as there aren't enough of them. The 2 girls today were taking orders, making sandwiches to order for both sit in & take away customers, making tea/coffee, serving up hot food, taking orders from kitchen to customers, clearing tables & taking payments and the place was full. I overheard a few customers complain about the wait but both girls remained polite and apologised which was all they could do in the circumstances.
I was hungry by the time my fry arrived so got stuck in without taking a photo but will be back and will get one then read more
