The sandwiches here are CLASS. It's always busy, there is always a queue, but it moves quickly and they know how to sort it all out. The only place I've ever been to that does bigger, better, sandwiches is the Carnegie Deli in New York - and that's saying something. They have every God's amount of filling, sauce, spread, salad items that you might want or need for your sandwich, and a good choice of bread types too. They aren't stingy on fillings, in fact that's what they are known for, and you will come out feeling totally stuffed but happy because all the ingredients are very fresh and nothing is too heavy or fatty. I envy those who work in offices downtown that have doorsteps orders delivered for lunch almost every day - their delivery service is very popular. If you're about the Lisburn Road and are feeling peckish, I would definitely recommend this eaterie.

Huge choice of sandwiches

Service was slow. Got the order wrong. Tables were filthy as was the toilet. The two stars were for food tasting okay and they did a good job of making a pot of tea.

If you love a good sandwich with plenty in it..this is the place for you! Doorsteps is awesome! The sandwiches are so big you sometimes struggle to hold it all together...heaven. Their chicken tikka is especially good! Doorsteps is highly popular and at lunchtime be prepares for a lengthily queue and a bit of a wait...but totally worth it! The staff are great and always have time for a bit of craic and the cafe is always clean. If there's no seats you can take away and dander across to the park and enjoy your feast there (weather permitting). Big thumbs up for me!

We got there first and we really only had a double espresso and croissant each. Both were very good indeed. Our companions arrived and ordered coffees too. They surprised us as we went to pay - they picked up the tab, decent of them so I can't report the cost. It's quite a large place once inside, and as we walked in at a front counter we were right next to a display of their rather expensive pastries and they looked delicious. The seats were comfy and the staff were a friendly bunch and they were super efficient. This place is on Belfast's Lisburn road, and although we had arrived just before 11am on a Monday morning we found on street pay car parking space very challenging to find indeed. I keep reminding myself that we are supposed to be in austerity yet the coffee bars are full and on street parking is at an expensive premium - seems austerity is only for the poorest and hammering down on our public services like the NHS, education and on and on. Think I'd rather pay fair taxation. It's become a much crazier world. As I write I hear Mr Trump on the radio claim he hasn't a racist bone in his body. I never thought I'd agree with him; he hasn't. The racism is evidently in his brain alone.

So I got a pre-packed sandwich instead which they heated on site. Still tasted great but I will have to go to botanic if I want to make up my own salad or sandwich for takeaway. Decided to try here and sit in this time (for lunch). Decor is lovely and the restaurant is more spacious than the other store. They have a small menu but also offer daily specials and separate vegetarian menu. One of the specials offered was a rare beef sourdough sandwich served with fries and hot sauce. Although the sandwich was tasty and a lite messy due to the coleslaw and rocket the beef was not rare. There was also quite a bit of fat around the edges of the beef. Opted for a watercess, feta, beetroot and quinoa Salad as a side order. For 3.50 this salad was huge but a bit salty. Unfortunately didn't have room for dessert but took a look at all the lovely treats on offer for future reference. Great to see they are licensed as well, I will be back to try out the dinner menu along with some cocktails.

This really is a 'secret' garden…read more My sister and I were seeking a venue for a little treat and she recommended we try here. Afternoon tea without the ridiculous price - perfect. At £24 for two this really is a steal. Sandwiches of your choice, scones (with the usual accompaniments) and some yummy traybakes. This is more like non pretentious, Northern Irish style afternoon tea. With the tray bakes including mini fifteens and malteaser squares. If you are looking for something cutesy, scrumptious and not breaking the bank then look no further! Will definitely be back. Don't forget to check out the gift shop for some trinkets and the perfect gifts for mums.

Tea rooms attached to a garden centre, tend not to have the most out there reputation. I'm glad to say my scepticism was blown out of the water. This place is definitely a little gem of Belfast. The actual tea rooms/restaurant are an elegantly appointed building with stunning views of the countryside. You feel like you are in the great hall of some stately Victorian home. Sumptuous décor and a varied and delicious sounding menu. As we were there during the week we availed of the two courses for £9.99 (I think that was the price so apologies if I got this wrong, my mum was paying) We both ordered the soup for starter, Butternut Squash, chilli and coconut. Very tasty and a huge portion, I couldn't finish mine because I wanted to leave room for the main. My mother ordered slow cooked beef brisket, Mash and roast root veg while I had the smoked haddock, creamy bacon and leek sauce and the same sides. I cannot fault the food, it was delicious. My only tipple would have been that a selection of different sides for the fish may have been a little better, Maybe some samphire and potato croquets or some such. We also caught a glimpse of their cram tea on another table which looked stunning (I think the Waitress said it was £20/25 per head) Overall an amazing place for lunch, but it doesn't end there. They also offer a dinner menu Thursday to Saturday and it is BYO so definitely cannot be doing wrong there. I highly recommend this place for lunch or for dinner! If you go for dinner though I think you have to book as this place is making its mark on the map and seems to be getting ever more popular!
