This is a very cute cafe, much larger than it looks, and we really enjoyed our meal here. I had the jacketed potato with prawns while my husband opted for a soup and sandwich. The soup of the day was an apple and parsnip soup, and it was quite good. My potato was loaded with the prawn salad...a much larger portion than I was expecting...and it was absolutely delicious. We had an excellent meal for a very reasonable price, and I would highly recommend Pots of Pleasure!

On our dash around Ballyclare, which moments later resulted in our feasting at Deb's Diner (there's a review for that...), we hastened past Pots of Pleasure, I made a mental note to later check out the gift shop, unintentionally omitting the fact that it was actually a coffee shop too. Darn it. When we did eventually check this wonderful little gift shop, I was completely awestruck that there was indeed a little tea room snuggled away at the back, but also incredibly disheartened that I had missed a tremendous opportunity to join the numerous customers who were sipping, eating and chatting away. As soon as you step through the door, the buzz is overwhelming, and you notice that the place is astonishingly busy. Not wanting to part with the pleasure just quite yet, I decided to have a nosey around the gift section. The most exquisite scarves from Spain at thirty-something quid lay neatly folded on the table, beside a whole lot more luxurious outdoor accessories. My eye was also caught by the shelves of musician gifts - little ornaments and figurines with musical notes, and lots of other associated gifts. A whole repository of colourful Bridgewater candles, cabinets filled with beautiful jewellery and 'Enhance' accessories, shelves stacked with Emma Bridgewater home ware, cute arrangements of Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries...such wonderful choice. I would love to pop back one day and check out the actual pots of pleasure (in coffee terms), but I have to say, that gift shop was something else...

Fresh cream buns, tray bakes and all sorts of baked breads were all stacked high. I asked the assistant could I have a selection of 30 random buns, her choice, but this caused confusion so I had to ask about four times. Once I got the message across she picked a fantastic selection of cream buns and a few tray bakes. The buns themselves were out of this world - clearly freshly produced. As other reviewers have mentioned you need to be in early to get the best stuff. Price wise it's great value - I paid under £20 for 30 fresh buns. My one gripe was the customer service - the two workers watched me to try to pull the door open whilst holding three boxes of buns.

Even when I couldn't call in after school I would wave through the window. After not being in for a while, when I finally did I was made to feel very special. As he said I was a very polite, well mannered girl. The buns are most defiantly the best also at amazing prices. I would defiantly recommend this bakery to anyone!

There is something very comforting about bakeries and the smell of bread and buns, it's obviously the insecure over-eater in me coming through there, but there really is. They've got lots of little cakes and buns in the window to pull you in and the usual display cases with coconut rings, éclairs and jam tarts and apple pies and so forth to choose from. I got a cream-filled coconut finger with the traditional radioactive red jam blob on the top and it was MASSIVE and it was only 60p!!! I had to stop myself from buying anything else. The girl at the till was really pleasant too and made some conversation. I would call in here again soon, but I'm really starting to worry about my 'aul figure!

The staff is friendly and the environment is very clean and inviting. The place was packed guessing by its popularity in the area. There are many tables to sit at and also a gift shop sort of section where you can buy chocolate boxes. The hot chocolate drink was VERY rich as expected and satisfied my cocoa craving.

They also have a bistro/restaurant in the evening which runs fantastic one off deals such as from Wednesday to Saturday this week and from 5pm they are offering buy one get one free on the main courses. They also offer a comber steak night where two people can dine on two starters, two steaks with the trimmings and a bottle of wine - I've seen this done before in other places but I have heard this one mentioned time and time again. In the daytime enjoy a coffee or tea with homemade scones selling at £1.00 each - happy days. And they have Wi-Fi and baristas - the perfect combo! Awesome!

They surprised us as we went to pay - they picked up the tab, decent of them so I can't report the cost. It's quite a large place once inside, and as we walked in at a front counter we were right next to a display of their rather expensive pastries and they looked delicious. The seats were comfy and the staff were a friendly bunch and they were super efficient. This place is on Belfast's Lisburn road, and although we had arrived just before 11am on a Monday morning we found on street pay car parking space very challenging to find indeed. I keep reminding myself that we are supposed to be in austerity yet the coffee bars are full and on street parking is at an expensive premium - seems austerity is only for the poorest and hammering down on our public services like the NHS, education and on and on. Think I'd rather pay fair taxation. It's become a much crazier world. As I write I hear Mr Trump on the radio claim he hasn't a racist bone in his body. I never thought I'd agree with him; he hasn't. The racism is evidently in his brain alone.

They have a small menu but also offer daily specials and separate vegetarian menu. One of the specials offered was a rare beef sourdough sandwich served with fries and hot sauce. Although the sandwich was tasty and a lite messy due to the coleslaw and rocket the beef was not rare. There was also quite a bit of fat around the edges of the beef. Opted for a watercess, feta, beetroot and quinoa Salad as a side order. For 3.50 this salad was huge but a bit salty. Unfortunately didn't have room for dessert but took a look at all the lovely treats on offer for future reference. Great to see they are licensed as well, I will be back to try out the dinner menu along with some cocktails.

The range of food was decent enough and although there wasn't a great deal of stuff to surprise and delight the true foodie with 'out there' choices it had all the traditional crowd pleasers and it does them very well. The staff are nice, chatty and friendly and you never seem to be putting them out by being there as you feel in some places. The café is clean and tidy as well as feel cosy and bright. The coffee machine is a proper espresso maker however I was initially worried when I saw the lady take out a kind of tea bag thing and but it in the espresso basket, the pre-prepared 'Nespresso' type thins aren't usually great, and although it hardly constituted the best quality of coffee I've ever had it was far from bad. All this and the prices are decent too. The only thing was like many people nowadays I like to sit and read the news, catch up on Facebook, check Yelp for the place I'm in when I'm in cafes and the phone signal in the centre of Magherafelt isn't great, as there is no Wi-Fi available, you are kind of stuck.

Today I stopped at Bread & Banjo and had the spinach, feta and hazelnut quiche and a coffee. Amazing - it deserves 10 stars not 5. Coffee was fabulous too. Everything in this bakery is hand made.
