We had a new garage door motor installed in July 2025. I seems to work in "good" weather. But in cold weather it has lots of problems. Primarily the door won't stay closed. It will go up and down several times before it remains closed. I've been late for appointments that I left extra early for because I couldn't trust the door to close. A technician has come out 3 times since October; the answer is always how very sensitive the sensors are. There's NOTHING interfering with the sensors. Even the technicians don't see anything. We are very disappointed that this company cannot fix a problem they installed. These are sensors for warm weather states. They don't work reliably in MA fall and winter months. read more

Unfortunately this company will tell you one price to fix your issue and after you have agreed to have the work done they will send you a bill for a much higher amount and when questioned about it the billing manager, Lisa, will tell you flat out, "that is the price, nothing you can do about it" even when you explain that you were told a much lower price by the office person and the technician who performed the work. She even lied to me and said she told me the higher price which never happened. I would never recommend this company to anyone. It also took them 4 visits to fix my issue as they kept showing up with the wrong size springs. I also had to physically help the technician install the weatherstripping on my garage door because he could not do it by himself, it was a 2 person job. Then he put the rusty old springs on my new carpeting that I had on my garage floor that is now stained forever. Again, I would not recommend them to anyone. I understand mistakes can happen and things miscommunicated but to be so rude and lie to a customer is just not acceptable. Once again, DSI does amazing work for us. We had a torsion spring snap today. It happens after they wear down. The garage door would not open and my wife's car was stuck in the garage. They had a tech to us within hours. Joe was so fast with the repair and such a pleasant guy. I hung out with him for the whole repair and he educated me on the springs and how to maintain the door better in terms of oiling it. Such a good guy. When I needed a repair to my garage door I looked up garage door repairs and made calls to several companies. Only three replied to my calls ( and Angie request) two made appointments to come to house and none showed up. Then I went to garage door sales, my local Door Systems office answered my call, set up an appointment and SHOWED UP ON TIME! Price was a bit more than I was expecting, but they gave me options. They fixed my door, and showed me how what I could expect from that door in the future. I called to have them send a sales rep to look at what new doors would look like and what options were available. A month later I did order the new one and it was just installed by a very excellant installer. When he left there was no way to know he'd been there but for the new very quiet and well fitted garage door on the face of my garage. BRAVO! Neglecting garage door for a while...then there was a problem, and so I contacted Door System. They sent out two staff because our job required two trips, and one technician was more friendly than the other, but both got the job done and the garage door sounds great and our initial problem was also fixed. The staff in the office (receptionist, billing person) are very friendly and helpful. Definitely will use them again. I am giving them four stars instead of five only because one of the technicians, and I can't remember which one, was not that friendly. Otherwise, would have given them a 'five'. read more

Beware! This company hires inexperienced installers. Our brand new expensive wooden doors were noisy and catching on the tracks. They finally came out to look at after 5 phone calls and escalation to a V.P. The second installation team said that the first installation was a mess. I have continued to have issues after the second band-aid installation. Now the doors have completely dislodged from the header. I called the company and they once again used their usual tactic of not calling back and ignoring customer issues. The installation has endangered my children and made the doors unusable. If you hire this company, prepare to find a good company and pay twice. Also, beware if you are working with a contractor, they get kick backs to use this company and both will then blame the other. read more

We had used door systems in our other house and just built a new house and wanted to use them again because of their great service and quality products. We had 2 custom doors installed along with tracks and motors. Bruno Joline was the salesperson and he was great to work with. He designed it as we requested and it came out great. The install was seamless with their office staff and the install crew were great as well. We had an issue with the doors and the trim pieces and I emailed them the photos and they came our quickly to inspect the issue. It was a manufacturing defect and they confirmed it with the manufacturer and ordered 2 new doors. The original doors were removed and the new ones replaced. Excellent customer service and excellent follow through and excellent products. They do what they say and stand behind their products. I would recommend them to anyone looking for doors. read more

I had this company to fix my broken garage door rail. They promised me they will call be one hour before they went but I never received the door. They just went to my house (only my 9-year son was home) and fixed the door. The door occurred a screech sound after the fix which it didn't have before the fix. I wasn't able to discuss with them on the price or check the service. This price was too high to my expectation($260 to fix the single garage door rail). I called to their office to complain and they blamed me I should wait at home. I talked to three staff and their attitude was arrogant. She told him that he needed to come back on Monday to finish doors because of time constraints w painter finishing house - he said Ok to Monday- never showed or called back. Hank salesperson scheduled me a new appointment for Wednesday to install door stops (delayed my painter from finishing in time) Warranty technician came on Wednesday to finish door stops- asked why they weren't finished initially when door was installed and was in disbelief original installer didn't finish! The came out to give me a 'free' quote on a broken garage door. The tech was super nice, said it needed to be replaced and they would send me a quote, this was 3/1/19. So the sales guy called me to come out and look at it, I explained I could not take any more time off work and just needed a quote as I was told by the tech that's what would happen. Finally 10 days later he gave me a quote but we had chosen another vendor. Now (July) they are telling me I owe the $148 for work done to my broken door. They are claiming they invoiced me May 31st but I never got anything in the mail, i found it in my junk email. The sales person called me (the same one who wanted to come out in March) and told me I owed them money for the work done. I explained I had zero work done. He said he met with me in March and explained the work done. I told him I never met with him and he was lying. He got very mad and said he wasn't lying. I told him to tell me what my driveway looked like if he was here because I am 100% sure I never met with him, he said he had pictures and was looking for them. At which point he back pedaled and said he must have confused me with someone else because he didn't have pictures. I authorized no work to be done and being billed 3 months later for work I didn't authorize (or have done) is not OK. Buyer beware, apparently a free quote isn't free. read more

My door was original to the house (1941) and was in need of some work. Previous owner had a opener installed but was not handling the load well and was also in need of tuning. I had Door Systems come out to inspect the parts and make a recommendation. No overselling or use of fear to sell me up. I forgot the guys name but he was intelligent about the products, understood the details and answered all my questions. For many reasons I selected to go with a new, insulated door, quiet belt drive opener and exterior keypad for my kids to access with the added security benefit. Installation time and duration was right on. Installer also spoke well of the management and that goes a long way these days. I hired Door Systems to replace the spring for my garage door. The man replaced the springs as well, without asking first. I was actually Okay with it, as he said the others were fraying. Now that I received the bill, I am now questioning whether I should have asked to see the old ones. When he finished the work he was hired for, the technician spent about 15 minutes spraying the tracks of my garage door opener. He said, he was just doing it to be nice and be sure they ran smooth. Then I received the bill. They charged me $7.14 for the spray and at $146.00 per hour for him to do the spraying. A job I have done myself many times and didn't need him to do. read more

I had a garage door damaged by a car and they came out quickly and were able to replace the door with a new one identical to the old one. It started well, called them and left a message, Nicole called back the next day and left a voicemail to set up an appointment, we called back to confirm the date and all was good. The service date comes around and no one shows up. We call Door Systems and they tell us that they don't even have us in their system and are we sure we spoke with someone from their company? They did acknowledge that Nicole works there, but still, they didn't have us in their system. Ridiculous! Wasted a day off waiting for these clowns without even an apology. Echoing the other reviews on here, don't waste your time with this place. We ended up going with Mortland Doors and I can't say enough good things about them.
