My two garage door motors were getting old, and I wanted to upgrade the system. Melissa and Bobby in sales were excellent in answering all the questions I had over the phone. They even allowed me to text them pictures to get an accurate quote and guidance. I am price-conscious, and Melissa was patient in running multiple quote scenarios from maintenance repair and upgrading different motors. Melissa kept me updated on when I would get the quote, as she needed to get in touch with her Engineers to provide an accurate quote. Not once did I feel like they forgot about me. Bobby was super excellent, too; the day before the install, he confirmed what would happen during the install and what I was getting. Later that night, I changed my mind and wanted to upgrade the motor model and called Bobby after hours. I felt terrible, as it was after hours. He was with his family/kids at home. He was so patient to walk me through what additional features I would get with the new motor and sent me a new quote as we were speaking. Finally, Jose and Robert did a great install. First, I got a text message on the day of the installation where I could track them coming to my house with a time of arrival. They explained how a garage door system works as I was curious and asked specific questions on where I wanted the buttons and things like that to make sure it was installed how I wanted it. They walked me through what they would be doing for the installation. The work was clean and professional. All the wires twist-tied, hidden and tucked where able. No grease, nuts/bolts, or trash left in my garage. They helped with all the programming and walked me through the features of the new motor. BUYER BEWARE! Shamrock Overhead Door is the most dishonest company I ever encounter. I wish I could give zero star to them. I called them to repair my garage my door on 7/19. 7/21 Friday, two of their technicians came to my house. Once they arrived, without inspecting the possible problems, they immediately said our garage door opener is an old model without censor and they would not work on it. However, they still charged me $175 fee without doing anything. After refusing me to waive the $175 services charge, they tried to sell me to buy a new garage door opener. I had the garage door services many times and I never heard of such policy before. I didn't know a garage door company will not repair an old model garage door which is quite ridiculous. It is fine if that is their company policy but their customer representative on the phone should tell the customer upfront of that policy before scheduling an appointment. My husband and I cleared our schedule waiting for their crews coming that morning with high expectation of their services only left with frustration and disappointment. I am wondering if there are other customers being scam by them. I email them back of my frustrating experience several times and asked for a refund, no one responded to me. I called the owner number direct line can only leave a voice mail. He did not respond to the text neither. On a rainy Friday afternoon, Melissa answered the phone, arranged for SAME Day service and followed up several times before Michael arrived in the late afternoon to make the repair. I told my buddy after Melissa called me for the third time to request more info about my garage opener, "I really think they care more about this garage door opener than I do!" First job I had Shamrock Over Door do was the tuneup and replacement of the rollers. Josh was concerned about the quality of the work done by another garage door technician stating that it was not up to code and did not have the required safety feature. They took care of it. He also pointed out that the tension springs used by the previous garage door company as a replacement to a broken torsion spring was under rated. The is a possibility that it could break. We understood the concern. Josh gave two proposals. One to replace the springs with the right size and the other to replace the garage system excluding the motor with a better quality build and material. I had them replace the garage door system. Our garage door opener was making a bad sound and wouldn't close completely unless we detached it from the track. On the day of our appointment, Josh called to get some more information. He could tell by the sound that we needed a new motor which would have to be ordered, so we scheduled another appointment for a couple days later. Shamrock replaced a broken torsion spring on my garage door last year. They replaced both the springs as recommended. They were punctual and finished the job on time, so everything seemed good. Their prices were middle of the road. One year later, the spring broke. This spring is supposed to be rated for 10,000 cycles. The last one had lasted for 7 years. My garage opening habit has not changed. So the spring breaking in 1 year suggests bad quality spring or undersized spring. This was around mid December. I could not get hold of anyone at Shamrock. My cars were stuck in the garage, so I could not wait for someone from Shamrock to answer their phones. (I did not leave a voice mail). I picked another company that was available to do the work right away. The person calculated the spring size and came up with a thicker spring wire size. He also pointed out that the two springs from the earlier installation were not the same length. One was 1.5" shorter. I cannot think of a reason for that :( read more

I want to like this company, but have been waiting for a new garage door opener for 5 months. This began in September and it is now the end of February. They fixed our door effectively but we have had nothing but frustration trying to get our opener which has already been paid for. We've had two different men come out to follow up, each saying he needs to order the correct opener. I have made numerous phone calls, faxed our receipt twice at the company's request, and been apologized to by very nice men with no result. We had our garage doors installed in dec 2014. In jan 2015 the doors did not close all the way. I called and josh came out right away to take a look. He said he needed to get a part and would be back in 2 days. Well, 2 weeks later after my wife calling him everyday to see when he will show up with a couple of no shows in between he finally comes. He installed the metal bar across the top inside door and left without even letting us know it has been fixed. Now I know why he didn't tell us it's fixed because it wasn't. The door squeeks so I went out and bought an L bracket and correctly installed it to the roller. He tried to secure it to the drywall with one screw which eventually fell out. What a joke. read more
