Came out same day and fixed a broken garage door. Mark was a consummate professional.

Ugh, what more can we ask for to get such great services? Nicole was extremely helpful and knowledgeable on the issue quickly with the estimates and quotes and got back to me right away with my garage door not opening. Two guys, Yoel and Vincent, showed up in less than 30 mins to get my issue fixed. If you are looking to fix your garage door, don't look further. These people know what they are doing, extremely helpful, the price reasonable and knowledgeable. Thank you Nicole, Yoel and Vincent. What a pleasure to work with you all. We are so lucky to have you all serving our area. Best, Natalie read more

Recently had my garage door replaced. Service was outstanding - very prompt and friendly. New door looks great!

For many days, my garage door opener was not doing its job. It would open half way, and go back down. Personally, trying to fix the problem became an excercise in futility and very frustrating. After checking around, I called Independent Garage Door. I'm glad I did. Mark was great. Not only did he fix the opener issue, he performed overdue maintenance on the door chain, wheels, etc. I had him replace the old, outside, touch pad as well. Price for all the work was very reasonable. The garage door opener is working beautifully. I definitely would recommend, and call them again when needed. read more

Mark and Steve had us very pleased. They took the time to straighten the sleeve; replaced the gasket and the old springs that were teased; tuned up and greased all the movements with ease so winter will fly by without a care or breeze (blowing into the garage that is). Now that the door is tight and serene we are kicking back with our fingers intact sipping on hot chocolate and moving in and out without any keys. Five stars and celebratory cigars but please no smoking in the garage. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Independent from start to finish. I am a new homeowner and, in the process of moving things in, my garage door stopped opening. On a weekend, of course. Nevertheless, I reached out to these guys and Mark, a co-owner, called me back almost right away to talk through the problem. Once we figured out it was something that could wait until a weekday, he said he'd make a note to have Nicole call first thing on Monday. Sure enough, Monday morning rolled around and I got a call from Nicole (who is so great!) first thing. Vinny was out within a couple of days and both fixed the immediate issue and diagnosed the underlying problem (a bad operator). He was very straightforward in saying I could limp along with the current operator for awhile if I wanted and left replacement up to me. I ultimately decided to just go ahead and replace and Mark was back out with a new unit just a few days after that. Mark is just amazing -- a friendly, deeply knowledgeable guy who takes the time to do everything, big and little (running wires with near-obsessive neatness, for instance), to make sure the job is done just right. I really cannot say enough good things about this team. They get the job done right, quickly, and at reasonable prices. On top of that, they're just a pleasure to deal with. I have found my garage door company for life. read more

When one of my two 20+ year old garage door openers started acting up I called Independent Garage Door. I had a good conversation with the woman who answered the phone and after going over all of my options, I elected to just have them come out an replace both of the openers given their age. She stayed on the phone with me while I measured my doors and within 10 minutes I had a detailed quote (a great price) and an appointment. The morning of the scheduled install, I received a phone call letting me know the estimated time the crew would be there. I received another call to let me know the crew was on their way. The crew arrived 30 minutes early and got to work. Within just a few minutes the technician advised me that he found the problem with the opener and he offered to repair it instead of just going forward with the new installs. He told me it would be a quick and inexpensive fix and I would probably get a few more years out of the old ones without any issues. Despite the offer, I went ahead with the replacement as they were over 20 years old and I wanted the peace of mind. I greatly appreciated their honesty and the offer to fix over replace. I am not sure too many businesses would have been handled it that way. That being said, I am 100% satisfied with my new door openers. They are whisper quiet and they even took the time to reconfigure the set up to make the new install look neat and organized. They took the time to go over the features and owners manual and told me if I had any questions, just give him a call. When they were done they swept my entire garage and left it cleaner then what it was before they started. The installer told me he works every job like he is doing it at his own house and that really showed in the finished product. Can't say enough how satisfied I am with this business. Great customer service, installed a great product and honest. I highly recommend Independent Garage Door and I would use them again in a heartbeat! read more

Great company to work with. Easy to schedule and work with. I found a sticker for these folks on my door opener and couldn't be happier. I called with a door that wouldn't open and they were here within and hour. They diagnosed the problem as either the receiver of a circuit board and tried the receiver 1st. They left the old one after replacement and left saying they'd check back in a week to make sure it was working properly. Sure enough a week went by when their office manager called to make sure it was working properly AND that they had located a plastic lens cover (30 yrs. old) for the light bulb. Incredible service, great guys in a family biz for over 50 yrs. and great pricing!!! read more

I always get multiple quotes for big home improvement work. Heck, it can take me three days to buy a toaster. So, I spoke with a lot of door installers before I chose them. It wasn't just the door, which we love. It was the impression that they could handle the job. We wanted the existing corner angles on the house removed to make 90 degree corners. That involved cutting vinyl siding, carpentry, and new aluminum sheathing, something a lot of installers couldn't do. We didn't want to hire multiple firms for one job. That decision paid off, as in the corse of reworking the opening, they found rotted wood, and they were able to repair that at minimal extra cost and time. They had three trucks and six guys here and finished in one day. Very happy. Well recommended. read more

Excellent service on my garage doors from Vinny from Independent Garage Door. He was very knowledgeable and professional in his work. Independent Garage Door gets it done all the while keeping you informed of anything that they noticed needs fixing. Candy in their office called to let me know when they would show up to perform the work to be done also. All in all a very pleasant experience in every phase of dealing with Independent Garage Door of Worcester. Nice to see a local family owned business getting it done right. read more

Independent garage were great to deal with along with prompt, couteous and excellent service and would highly recommend them to family and friends. The service technician was absolutely an expert at his craft as I needed repairs to my garage box lights and a garage door switch. He also made a few other repairs as he noticed my springs were stretched out on the doors. It was like my garage doors had a physical exam at a very reasonable price. Would definitely do business with them again. read more

We had a wonderful experience with this family-owned company. Mark and Sean were friendly, fair, knowledgeable, and efficient despite many unforeseen setbacks with our broken garage door (which seems to have been a DIY project of the previous homeowner back in the 1970's to give you an idea of what they were dealing with). Without breaking the bank and with few large replacement parts needed they got our garage door up and running once again- which as new homeowners is a huge relief! We will certainly be using this company for all our future garage door needs and recommend them highly! Thanks again! read more

Great experience. Although they had to attend to some emergencies st the day of my appointment, they stopped by anyway to fix the cables of my garage door. Very knowledgeable, effective and fair rates. Unlike others, they don't try to talk you into buying a complete new door or other stuff yiu don't need but fix what needs to be fixed. Highly recommended. read more

Superb workmanship. Top quality material and installation.Extremely customer friendly and accommodating. Very fairly priced. Succinctly that describes my experience with Michael Dow, Owner of Independent Garage Door company. My wife and I could not be more pleased with the professionalism and congeniality of Independent Garage Door Company. Essentially what "sold" us on this company was the fact it is a family business with over 30 years experience. There was no "pressure" to sign now or the price goes up as many installers narrate. Add to that one gets a" Live" person when calling their number (508 755 1745) during business hours. No computer robot responding!. We highly recommend doing business with Independent Garage Door Company. read more

This company was great to work with from the office help to the installers. They came right away got the job done quick and price was reasonable. Would definitely recommend them. Thanks for the great service read more

Mike and his crew did an excellent job of replacing a very worn 40 year old wood door. Very reasonable cost and the work was completed when promised for the estimated price. Thank you, Independent Garage Door for helping me fix my 3 car garage! All 3 of my garage doors broke right after another and I had been lifting my doors manually for over 6 months! I finally decided to look for someone to repair it. So, I called Independent garage door to get an idea on how much it would cost! Although they weren't able to give me an estimate they walked me through the process so smoothly it didn't matter! I called them on Sunday, expecting a machine so that I could leave a message since most businesses are closed on Sunday's but they had an emergency representative answering their calls so I was able to speak to someone about my needs and she told me someone would be in contact with me the following day - which was a plus! Just as the emergency rep said I received a call from Tammi who was very inviting and understanding to my situation. She explained to me their process and told me someone from their company would be at my house within the hour. Before I knew it, Mark and Rick (the technicians who fixed my doors) were at my doorstep! They were very knowledgeable and vigilant, making sure my rundown doors became like new! They were very understanding with the budget I had set which was the most important thing for me! From previous experiences I've had people repair things without warning of how much it's going to cost and then it resulted in a horrible experience and a major headache! I was outside with them every step of the way and they were courteous of my home and had great patience with me asking as many questions as I wanted! I would recommend Independent Garage Door Co. to anyone interested in getting their garage doors fixed! I'm not usually the type of person who writes reviews but I felt they definitely deserved it! Thank you, again to the Independent Garage Door Team! read more

New to the area and looking for a garage door company I came across Independent Garage Door on Yelp. Because of the wonderful reviews I made a call about 5pm and got the answering service. Waiting days to have someone get back to me I was a bit disappointed but decided to call again. This time Nichole picked up and from there the great customer service began. She knew her stuff and made sure I was prepared for my service call. She made me measure my garage door, asked me what type of opening mechanism was originally installed and even asked if it was attached to my house. All of these questions allowed Mark and Sean to be prepared for their call. Within a few hours my new garage door opener was installed along with a keep pad entry. Because my garage is not attached to my home, Mark installed an emergency lock should the power go out. And they even repaired some shoddy work done previously. I highly recommend Independent Garage Door for their knowledge, prices and wonderful customer service. read more

I recently had my garage serviced by the company. The 14+ -year old garage finally needed repair. I had the broken steel cables and few hinges/brackets replaced. They also checked the entire structures and showed me how to care for the parts. The service was professionally done. Mark and his buddy got the job done in 1 hour and the price was very reasonable. Btw, prior to the service I called few other companies, and either their hourly rates are higher or they can't tell me the length of the repair time. I picked Independent Garage Door Co. Overall I am very satisfied with the service. Thank you! read more

My 15 year old garage door opener was opening part way and shutting off. The guys from Independent Garage Door came today to check it out. I expected that my garage door opener would need replacement. Instead, they determined it was not the operator, but replaced pulleys, adjusted the parts, cleaned and lubricated everything, including my other working garage door. Extremely reasonable. I would recommend them to anyone needing replacement or repair. Great to see an honest, family run business doing well for so many years. read more
