This spot was located close to our airbnb on a recent trip to Door County so stopping by was a given. We stopped by one morning for coffee and breakfast. The coffee was a solid ok. The food was good! I ordered a specialty latte, which was less flavored than I expected and the espresso was a bit bitter. My son got their mocha mary, which delighted everyone at the table. A mocha garnished with a sausage, egg, and cheese, a doughnut, a brownie, and a strawberry--Wisconsin bloody mary style. It was definitely the star of our breakfast show. The service is lovely and they do have a cute little gift shop inside. We were able to get a couple of souvenirs in their gift shop. It's a quirky little shop and truly 5 stars for the gift shop! The service was friendly. though the set up is odd. It's not totally clear that if you want a table, you can go ahead and sit at one and you will receive table service. It was confusing and ultimately we ordered at the counter and were informed once you order at the counter, you can sit at a table but won't have service. It all worked out and we were still able to enjoy our breakfast on the patio--but something to note. read more

I noticed that they have GF muffins in their display case that were individually wrapped. I got the carrot cake and chocolate one to go. The cashier indicted there are more choices in the summer but I was excited they had some in the store. The store is super cute with a lot of options to look through. Great coffee shop! I was in Door County for three days, and I visited Door County Coffee twice during my stay. The first time, I stopped in for lunch and a tour. The second time, it was for a quick cup of coffee and breakfast to go. So, the first time I visited included a tour. Did you know that they offer a Coffee 101 Tour on Fridays for $20? They do! You get a behind-the-scenes look at their roasting facility, learn about the beans they use, see where they package the coffee for shipment, taste some samples and lots more. This is a fun little factory tour that's great for people who love coffee, and it made me appreciate all of the love and attention that Door County Coffee puts into its product. The tour lasts about 30 minutes. If you don't want to pay to take the tour, you can still peek into the factory from one of the windows in the coffee shop itself. You'll see the roasting station and people milling around. It's neat to know that the cup of coffee you're enjoying was roasted and tended to right there in that same building. As for the food: They have a pretty tight cherry crumble bar. Door County is known for cherries, so anything cherry here will be great. I also got a Cherry Chicken Melt (grilled chicken, Swiss cheese, cherry chutney, caramelized onions on a ciabatta roll) which was pretty good. The Italian Wedding Soup (meatball soup) was just OK. The meatballs were a little tight (in a not good way). The baked oatmeal, which I picked up to go, was fine, but I like my oatmeal a certain way, and this wasn't the way I liked it, so that could be why it wasn't my favorite. Overall, I'd come here for the coffee mostly. The coffee is sublime. And honestly, if they can do coffee excellently, then that's all that I need from a coffee shop. read more

Door County Coffee is your typical stop for Door County tourists. Yes the locals stop there also. They have a huge variety of Door County Coffee flavors in already ground or whole beans. There is a gift shop and a small Cafe that offers a variety of hot and cold drinks, food and other goodies. I was excited that they had some gluten free options and my husband and I split a gluten free carrot muffin. It was super yummy. I also had an iced Carmel macchito which was good. Although pretty touristy, this place made a good cup of joe, with plenty of outdoor spots to sit when the weather is nice! I came here on a weekday afternoon to get some coffee beans. The minute you step into the store, you can smell the pleasant aroma of the delicious coffee (beware if you aren't a fan of the smell of coffee). The store has a coffee shop that also sells food on the left side with some patio seating. The right side of the store sells a variety different flavors of coffee beans (weigh & purchase) along with other items from snacks to kitchen items, souvenirs and small gifts. The staff were friendly and helpful. I'll be back to pick up some more coffee if I'm in the area. read more

Picked up a can of vanilla bean cold brew. Doesn't taste like coffee or vanilla. Can says zero cream, which I believe. Zero sugar, definitely. Zero guilt not quite, I feel guilty for wasting $4.55 on a can of cold five day old sink water. Most unpleasant taste found in a can. read more

For the record, we picked up these flavors on this visit: Bourbon vanilla cream Peanut butter crunch Hazelnut creme After numerous purchases of their coffee flavors over the past year, I'll drop down to a 4 star rating. I've found that the flavors don't hold consistently for very long, maybe a month or 2 or so, and then they all fade to pretty much the base coffee flavor. Also, I've since learned that several main DC coffee flavors can be bought at several different stores at a price $2 to $2.50/lb lower than the $12.99/lb price at their flagship store. This frankly seems kind of odd and off-putting to me for a flagship store. Overall though, DC coffee is undoubtedly a very good brand that is definitely worth trying. The extensive flagship DC Coffee store is also a must visit at least once while in Door County. My benchmark though, for what it's worth, for a great deal on a great flavor-retaining coffee is still just getting Starbucks French Roast at Costco when it's on sale. read more

Door County Pumpkin Spice Coffee: I despise the cold of late autumn & winter; however, the frigid temperatures do improve a good cup of coffee. Even better is a steaming mug of pumpkin spice coffee while peacefully reading one of Mr. King's masterpieces in my study. Thankfully Door County's take on the coffee allows me to do just that. Opening the packet releases a tantalizing aroma of pumpkin, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. Once brewed the java is smooth and flavorful. Sipping it evokes thoughts of autumn, pumpkin farms, pumpkin pie, and of course Halloween. The coffee is a winner on its own but pairing it with a number of pumpkin flavored pastry products will really give your taste buds something to howl about this Halloween. If I find myself unable to sleep much during this spooky season it could be from all the scares or it could be from all of the delicious pumpkin spice coffee I've consumed (or even scarier, it might be from all the sugar & candy!). Particularly in the fall. The veggie wrap is good, as is the seasonal fall pumpkin soup. )The soup tastes like desert, so plan accordingly.) The BLT is meh, with too much mayo on overly thick, lightly toasted white bread. The fancy grilled cheese is too fancy, with the grilled onions, tomatoes and cheese somehow canceling each other out. The coffee is coffee. The Colombian and breakfast blend were both watery and nothing to write home about. Maybe their goal is to use the coffees as a basis for other flavors. They have a lot of flavored coffees, so if that's your thing you may have a better experience. Godspeed if you arrive at the same time as the trolley. We stopped here on our way back home from Egg Harbor. I am embarrassed to say that I didn't realize that this is the same Door County coffee that I find in grocery stores back home, and we almost drove past without realizing what it was! We turned the car around and grabbed two drinks to go and shopped their extensive gift and ground coffee selections. My white chocolate mocha was delicious! My mom purchased a coffee advent calendar for me, and so far I have liked every flavor aside from the coconut caramel, but I am not a coconut person. This is a really fun place to stop and although we didn't get any food, seems like it's a well-run business with a convenient drive-through option. read more

I was gifted their Highland Grogg whole bean decaf coffee and it's been delicious! They have some cool flavors on their website, my only complaint is their whole-bean decaf selection is very limited. They do sell it pre-ground but that's usually too finely ground for my Chemex. Maybe one day! read more

We stopped here this weekend during our trip to Door County. We had a BOGO coupon from the Venture Wisconsin coffee shop passport. When we first entered, we went to the counter to place our order for drinks and to get a small pastry to share. It was only after we placed our order that we discovered they had a menu as well. When I discovered this, I also ordered a cherry chicken sandwich. We found a table by the fireplace, where we drank our beverages and at the cherry tart. Both were superb. A short time later my cherry chicken sandwich was brought to me, and it too was fantastic. I give the food in this place a solid 5 starts. What I didn't like was the confusion. The fact they serve food was not obvious to us. We accidentally found the menu at the counter. What was also confusing was whether we should place or order at the counter or wait for someone to wait on us at our table. Finally, we had to ask whether we were supposed to bus our own dishes or if someone would be picking up our plates (they bus your table, but we didn't know that). Would I go back? Definitely. I just wish they provided clearer instructions on ordering food and bussing the table. read more

Ok. Door County Coffee and Tea is one of my top 3 coffee shops! For all you coffee aficionados out there, you need to try this one. A huge selection of seasonal and regular coffees. I've been working my way through all their flavors. And it's been a wonderful experience. They have awesome fall flavors but hurry. The Christmas flavors will be out soon. On our first visit together to Wisconsin, we wanted to get Irv some local coffee. (I am a tea drinker) So, while making stops and visiting sights, we heard so many good things about Door County Coffee that we had to make it our first stop. We got out of the car and the scent of coffee overtook us- literally!!!!! My first impression is where my positive experience ended. We ordered food and coffee and were given a timer that would buzz when our order was ready. Our food never came. I noticed that other orders were out in 5-7 minutes so I timed a few patrons. Seventeen minutes after our order was taken by the cashier, and many, many patrons later, I asked a masked worker the status of our order. The original cashier never looked at us just talked to the masked young lady that I posed the questions about our order to, and then she disappeared to the back after asking for our buzzer number. A minute or two later, she came back, again, not looking at me or my husband, and placed our order on the counter in front of young masked lady who answered our question and apologized about our food being so delayed. No apology or acknowledgement from the original cashier just a continuous chin raise from her through the entire experience. Not sure but felt she really didn't want to serve my husband and I and made sure we knew it. Ironically, when we paid up front, the original cashier made sure to tell my husband not to put in his card until he answered the questions about service, before we ever got our food. It made us select a tip before our service experience was even started. Interesting.....Im sure she knew what she was doing. Very very disappointing. The potato bake Irv ordered was pretty warm - which means it was not just sitting in the back waiting to be delivered but plated recently. The toast, also was warm and is served spread with butter before toasting. Very good bread. The side of cherry jelly was also good. Hard to enjoy a meal when you feel like your total experience was waylaid by a staff member :( Husband ordered the praline butter pecan coffee which was a medium roast. He said it was light but good for a light coffee! The remaining staff was pleasant and helpful, all whom had smiles on their faces. Those pleasant employees took the sting out of the morning experience at Door County Coffee. read more

A must-do coffee café! Great coffee and pastries, and a full service café if you're staying for breakfast or lunch.

My boyfriend is obsessed with Door County Coffee (he gets beans shipped to us in Milwaukee and drinks it every morning), so when we were up in Door County, we had to go check out their brick-and-mortar store. I had no idea that it was a full cafe and shop! (I wish I would have come hungry, look at that menu...still drooling. Also obsessed with the dessert/pastry counter which had GF options and cute mini carrot cupcakes!) It has an adorable country-chic interior -- I wanted to buy all of the things they had for sale (but I limited myself to my new favorite kitchen towel and a jar of cherry horseradish sauce.) They also have...wait for it...A COFFEE FLIGHT! Such a fun way to sample a few of their most popular drinks. Wish we lived closer because I would be a regular here, but I'll definitely be back.
