If I could post 0 stars I would. This service can not possibly get any worse. Tonight it has gone out about 15 times for about 3-6 minutes each time. Impossible to watch TV. When you call to report a problem the only thing their useless people do is say to restart your router. Last week we called technical support and was told there was no problem on there end and we need a new router. 4 days later they send out a notice that they have been experiencing major outage problems for over 4 days, yet the jerks at tech support we're not aware of it! If you call with a problem, they tell you they will expedite it, and then it takes 3-5 days before they call back! They don't care that people need the internet to do their jobs. The only reason they are still in business is because there are no other options! Their value is crap because we pay for crappy service that is ALWAYS going out! read more

Internet connection is spotty and very slow speed. You will be better off with DSL or Satellite and have more consistency

Like many reviewers I've had problems throughout with DC Broadband: ridiculous installation charges; incorrect installation they then instructed me to fix myself; poor signal where I live; outrageous charges for archaically slow speed ($60/mo); and now they want to charge me $75 to fix the "radio" which has come "out of alignment." I didn't install it, it's not my fault it's "out of alignment." If you have another option, take it. As soon as I find one, I will. Communities need to enter the modern age and provide their own internet services to residents, as Egg Harbor does. Internet Service-for-Profit is unproductive, not conducive to an informed, engaged society, and discriminatory. read more

The actual service is great, once you get your dis mounted. Providing DCB a place to put there dish was left up to me since I did have a clear path to their tower by mounting it on a tree. I mounted a pipe on a big rock on the shore, which I hope survives the ice. I was not told they had a lift that they brought to my neighbors and went way up in a tree and mounted theirs. This would have been a better option for us. This is our only complaint. Service is great. Ability to put in winter mode is great. Best we switch out Verison phones to internet mode and dropped a land line. read more

Didn't ask where I wanted dish in back yard. They almost placed in the middle of my view of water. Attached to a tree , instead of using a pole in ground. Didn't bury cable: installation still $175! Missing power supply to make router work. Becky accused me of having it..... so I had to pay $20 for piece! Unfortunately , not a lot of choices in DC, so they get away with this type of "customer service" . read more

I was extremely disappointed that DCB told me that not only is broadband service not available in my area, they have NO PLANS to expand into my area. My house is in a longstanding development that is well populated and needs this service, and DCB just ignores us. They are called Door County Broadband, but they don't really serve Door County. Not a solid business model, folks. Good luck with that in the future when the competition passes you by. read more

Not recommended for anyone on Washington Island. Almost all problems with your service is your responsibility. Service calls, if you can get them up here are $75 plus $80 for the ferry. Even if they make 2-10 service calls here, all of you will pay $75 plus $80 for the ferry. They told me it is in your contract. Purchased a new router yesterday, now I have another problem with "line blockage" and no chance for service until 10 days from now when I am not here. Wanted to return my $75 router and cancel the service, no refund plus need to pay them $15 a month for rest of my contract...it is in the contract. Go with Verizon, despite their issues, they don't charge for service. read more

There's really no other choice in my area. The router they sold me for $75 failed in less than 6 months. They replaced it under warranty, but the service call was $79.13. So, the failure of the router they sold me cost me more than the router, which was under warranty. I posted this review on other sites and DCB replied that we made the choice to pay the service charge versus stopping by their office to pick up the new router. Curious, since they were unable to diagnose the problem remotely because they couldn't communicate with my unit and they said we needed a tech to come out. I'm still waiting to learn how/when we were given the choice to come to their office and pick up a new router to avoid the service charge when they were unable to identify the router as being the problem without the on-site service call. read more

Do not do business with this company! Owners are arrogant and have very questionable business practices with minimal technical understanding. Numerous service outages are ignored by the company, and outside of regular business hours (9 to 5, M-F) your only option is to leave a message and hope they get back to you. None of my hundreds of outages were compensated and if you complain your service will be slowed to the point it is useless. I have been lied to many times by staff and owners who take my service difficulties as a joke since they can be heard laughing about my complaints in the background of calls. I was exposed to this abuse for years since this was the only internet service in my area and I needed it to work remotely. One of the owners admitted during a phone conversation that their installation of my wireless hardware was faulty but refused to take any action to resolve the issues. Further attempts at resolution led to their attorney who mocked me and openly lied in writing about their responsibility under federal and state regulations. The attorney also refused to respond to very reasonable inquiries and I was disconnected without appropriate notice. read more

Good service from great people. Speed is a little slow in late afternoon and evening.

I've used this service for over 3 years and in the past have found it to be the best service available for my remote location. However, this year, for no reason I've been able to identify, speeds have fluctuated badly, ranging from less than 1 Mbps (making internet service virtually unusable), to 7 Mbps, although my agreement calls for 5 Mbps. I've spoken to their Tech 1 and Tech 2 support people with literally hours on the phone, but the problem has not been resolved. I've added WiFi extenders, deleted them, plugged, unplugged the router and 'modem' for hard reset; I purchased a new router, but found it was incompatible (powering the new router disconnected the 'modem' which acts as the power supply to the old router); etc. I've asked for replacement equipment, but have been advised that cannot be done except in person, which would take nearly a full day of travel, given driving distance and ferry schedule to do so. In summary, the service the past few months has been marginal at best. Given that I rely on this for document transfer, etc. in my business, this has created a serious problem for me. Unfortunately, I've recommended this service to others, but now feel I can no longer stand behind this recommendation. On the positive side, all of the personnel I've spoken with have been very pleasant and sympathetic. But not able to address the inconsistent speeds. read more

The speeds are GREAT & as promised during the day time hours. HOWEVER... they fall WAY off in the evening hours. I've gotten 5.68mbps LESS than what I am suppose to in the evenings. read more

We were hopeful after listening to DCB radio commercials.We live in Carlsville and don't have many choices. After many emails and phone calls we finally got someone to come out. We were told we don't have a clear view to there tower. Not all DCB fault but disappointing. read more

We were experiencing erratic service after a big wind. I called their tech experts and they checked their tower and our equipment, had me do some adjustments with no significant improvement. I talked to another tech person and he had me run through the same steps, once again out someone to check the direction of the antenna relative to the tower. He also noted our equipment needed an upgrade. When he checked the tower with the new antenna it still didn't work well although it DID work which was an improvement over the last couple of days. He promptly replaced the antenna with a more current model aimed toward a different tower and we had our internet service back. The first two techies were pleasant enough but it was only when the onsite guy arrived that we got success and our service was not only back but better than ever. The onsite guy was a 5 but the others were threes primarily because it was only when I suggested the antenna issue a second time they sent out the onsite guy who was pleasant and knowledgeable and promptly did his job on the roof on a cold 20 degrees windy day.
