My husband and his coworkers stumbled upon this bar, and it ended up being one of the coolest experiences we had in Amsterdam. The setting perfectly embodies the city; filled with historical photos, themed rooms that resemble the Red Light District, and a bar area that reminded me of one of Amsterdam's famous parks. While the drinks are on the pricier side, they are absolutely worth it. I ordered the Cosmo from the menu, and my husband and others had Old Fashioned's and whiskey sours. The presentation was incredible, the Old Fashioned arrived in a smoking treasure chest, which was such a fun and memorable touch. This place strikes the perfect balance between fun and classy. It's an awesome spot for a date night or a night out with friends, and I would definitely go back.

Great service. Wonderful atmosphere. Interesting drinks. Like all speakeasies it's not cheap but that's to be expected

Definitely a secret door. Kinda fun to figure it out!! You'll ring the doorbell, and someone will eventually come answer. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. We were at a table shared with other people. This might be common throughout. It didn't seem too crowded though. We were quickly given menus and water. We tried two different drinks each. I felt that both of mine were very sweet. I think I ordered poorly perhaps? I tried asking the waiter about the drinks before ordering but didn't get clarity. I maybe should've asked to create something off menu for me. They do offer this! Neither drink I got are ones I'll be wanting again. We saw other people have snacking nuts at their table, so we requested those as well. This helped with the overbearing sweetness. The prices were high, which is what we expected. The ambiance inside is very nice and intimate. A cool experience but okay to pass on it if you don't have the time or don't want to spend the money.

The bar manager at The Tailor suggested we check out this speakeasy bar. It was easy enough to find but I was worried they won't have room for us. Turns out, it's much easier to get into a popular bar in Amsterdam than in New York or Berlin. The interior is dimly lit with a few leather banquettes across the bar and some high tables in the far end. I loved their menu book - very creative. We ordered a couple rounds of drinks and enjoyed them tremendously!

I heard about this place online and love the idea of speakeasies so I had to check it out. The door was a little hard to find, which added to the excitement. There are some intimate tables around as well as a long bar area and a shareable table. The employees were very nice and the bartenders made delicious drinks and made good conversation. The menu is very creative, giving the story of Amsterdam and drinks that pair with the atmosphere of the story. Great change of pace from the overstimulation of the Amsterdam public.

Kinda difficult to find the entrance as it's a secret door but that was part of the appeal. Drink were delicious and bartenders were happy to suggest drinks as the night went. It was a vibe in there. Would recommend.

If you're in Amsterdam you should absolutely visit this speakeasy. It's a fun one to find and they have great drinks , music, and awesome bartenders. We went twice during our trip and loved both experiences. Highly recommend.

    Great drinks and atmosphere!

An endearing spot for those who love a quality drink. This speak easy boasts a low lit relaxed ambiance that's unmatched and is a great place to stop by on a mellow night out. Warm conversations and cold drinks flow throughout this corridor style lounge.

A lovely speakeasy bar hidden behind a non descript door. You ring the bell and they let you in. Don't come here without a reservation as it can get quite busy and it's a small bar with about 20 seats. Good list of cocktails and super friendly and nice bar tender who was quick to modify to your tastes. Cocktails were good and we'll presented but for me it was missing the wow factor. I have been to many speakeasy bars around the world and for me the thing I love is the creativity of these places. I enjoyed my cocktails but not enough to rush back here :-) I will come back here again.

Speakeasy with extremely creative cocktails. The service and attention from the staff was excellent. In terms of ambiance it was quite chill and cozy

Amazing drinks, great service, cozy ambiance. The music is not too loud which I loved and the drinks are strong but taste great. Need reservations

Door 74 is a really well done speakeasy. So well done, that I was convinced this place had gone out of business. Passing by, you would never know this bar existed. We had heard of Door 74 when researching nightlife in Amsterdam prior to our trip, but we did not realize how difficult it would be to find. The effort proved well worth it, as this bar is truly special. I'm glad we didn't give up and kept looking for it. Once inside, you'll be greeted by a dark interior and impeccable service. The atmosphere does feel a bit exclusive, and undoubtedly high end. We did not have reservations, but luckily they had availability at the bar the night we came. The cocktail menu will have your tastebuds watering. This isn't the cheapest bar in town, but the quality far exceeds any of its neighbors. I didn't take any pictures inside, but trust me when I say this bar is worth visiting. It was certainly a unique stand out from our stay in Amsterdam. The bartender was very friendly.

Their drinks, bartenders and the vibes are so good. They do transport you. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Basically was like um yea it just has spices in it. Spices may not be gluten free and could be of concern for a celiac. I asked him if any drinks were gluten free and he said all but 2. I wasn't confident that the drinks would be made separately from the non- gluten drinks so I opted not to get one. My friend got the bees knees and said it was really tasty. I got the Beeswax Old Fashioned(17 Euros). It was very good and a nice twist on an old fashioned. My second drink was the Paradiso Manhattan(17 Euros) and it was a tasty cocktail with something extra. It came with a piece of chocolate that was made with mushroom powder. They paired well together. I can't give it five stars for one reason. The drinks were very good, but they were a little weak. I felt very little to nothing after my second drink. I'm not a big drinker and I have a low tolerance for alcohol. The drinks need to be a little stronger. More of a kick to them. I would still recommend Super Lyan to anyone that has the pleasure of visiting Amsterdam on holiday.

We were going on a boat tour that afternoon, to see all the light installations, so we made sure the timing was right to get to Pulitzer's on time! We had a 6:00 reservation, and got there promptly and found the door that we were to enter. The door was locked, but there was a sign that said 'please wait, someone will be with you soon'. Our wait was very short, and someone promptly came, greeted us and took us to our seats at the bar. Because a reservation, I believe is required, (not 200% about that), we were wondering if it would be a bit stuffy. It was not at all, everyone that we spoke to was very friendly, and great service at the bar. There were other couch settings and a few different set ups, but as usual, we love the bar. Our drinks were fabulous and we tried three of their menu items- only have appetizers, but they were very good. In talking to my sister and her husband, after we returned home, who had just been to Amsterdam, I realized that they stayed at the Pulitzer hotel, which we did not know when we were there. They loved the hotel - so I can give a recommendation for that as well. They said all the rooms are different and they really loved their room. I think everyone would really enjoy a stay at the Pulitzer hotel and definitely get a reservation to Pulitzer's bar- you won't be disappointed.

Iago was super fun to talk to. He'd lived in Amsterdam for 7 years and It was only his first week here at NJoy. The rooms read like a cabinet of curiosities: intimate, storyful, quietly romantic. The team centers Dutch spirits, especially genever, and treats the menu as a narrative rather than a list of brands. Seasonal themes frame the drinks by flavor profile and history, and even the snacks stay in character, with simple Dutch-leaning bites that support what's in the glass instead of competing with it. The craft is serious. Most of the cocktails look disarmingly plain in the glass. No umbrellas, no edible terrariums, no theatrics for their own sake. Then you take a sip and the bouquet opens in layers, and the mid palate carries on a long arc that rewards attention. It is the rare bar where you keep drinking more slowly because the drink keeps revealing itself. The menu is a pleasure to read on its own, the kind you can happily peruse between sips as you decide whether to follow the thread of genever, lean into a vermouth frame, or chase something herbal and saline. Service is warm and informed without hovering, which suits the room's scale and keeps the experience personal. Practicalities shape the vibe in a good way. It is small and seating-only, which preserves the hush. Entry skews first-come, and the crowd trends grown-up and conversation-forward rather than boisterous. Taken together, it adds up to a bar with a clear voice and a point of view: unassuming appearances, rigorous composition, deep roots in Dutch tradition.
