We ordered Paneer Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken with extra chicken (a paid upcharge), with a few rotis/naans. The prices are high and the portions are on the smaller side (compared to Vancouver/Surrey). They missed the extra chicken in the Butter Chicken. The rice was old. The Paneer Tikka came with chicken. When I called to rectify, they told me the next time I come, they will fix it. That didn't work for us as we had a vegetarian with us so they did replace the dish. This is the best Indian food in Ladner but I think it's better to eat in. read more

A quant, casual restaurant with really good, affordable Indian food! We went for the lunch buffet ($16) and it was amazing. There were plenty of options to choose from and food was all great. I read previous reviews before I ordered food from here. I chose takeout this time. They do have a buffet lunch for what I believe is a reasonable price. I ordered 6 dishes. Samosas chicken and veggi. I found the chicken ones a bit dry but stuffed fully. The usual butter chicken was ordered and the gave us a second one for free over a certain amount. The sauce was creamy and tasty. We ordered everything mild. A bit disappointed with the amount of chicken in it. We had a a mutter paneer, galub jamun, lamb vindaloo and a veggi korma. Everything tasted great. Can't say anything about the service as we ordered out. It was there when we arrived at our pickup time. After a 10 minute drive the food was still hot so I can say it was just done when picked up. The inside looks nice but not very authentic. The lunch buffet was off to one side but that can't be helped. This is the second place in Ladner and tsawwassen that Indian food is very good. By far the best Indian food in the Tsawwassen/Ladner area. It's definitely got more of a fast casual vibe to it and at this current time they're only offering take out. After looking at their menu online, I gave them a call and placed my order. The lady on the phone was so friendly and told me my food would be ready within 15-20 minutes. When I got there, my food was ready and waiting to go. I ordered the aloo gobi, butter sauce, veggie pakora, regular naan, and stuffed naan with spinach and cheese. Everything was fantastic! From the flavour to the quality, I was loving every single bite. The aloo gobi was by far my favourite. The seasoning and spices they used in the cauliflower and potatoes had me almost licking the whole container clean. The butter sauce is also some of the best butter sauce I've tasted in the Lower Mainland. I saved some for my mom and even she agreed (her butter sauce standards are set high). The veggie pakora was the perfect blend of crispy and soft. And the naan, oh my gosh, the naan. So fluffy and yummy. The stuffed naan was the best stuffed naan I've tried so far. Writing about all the food from Doon's has me drooling right now. I can't wait to come back to try more dishes! How lucky am I to have this delicious spot in my backyard? Awesome food. Everything I tried was fantastic. Not usually a huge paneer fan, but theirs was plump and creamy in a seriously rich and spicy sauce. Chickpeas such a great depth of flavour, really layered and full of roasted spices. Absolutely returning again and again. The prices are killer too. Returned and had shahi paneer ($10), chicken curry ($12), bhatura, naan ($1.50 a piece), and pakora ($6)- serious feast for around $30, especially since they include a generous portion of really good basmati rice with mains. Shahi paneer was so rich and perfectly spiced. Curry chicken had a ton of tender, dark meat chicken with an incredibly flavourful gravy. Generous portions and great quality. Friendly family service. This place has some of the best sauces I have ever tasted. The butter chicken is very good. The lamb vindaloo is even better, that said there is simply not enough meat in either. Also lamb is most likely mutton. That does not bother me as I spent a lot of time in South Asia. This take away could rock if they fixed the lack of protein. Best Naan ever! read more

Food was fantastic and our entire take out order (as a walk in) was ready in 15 minutes. Just enough time to walk over to Save On and get our groceries. All very delicious. We had Butter Chicken and a Curry Kamb combo. Plenary of food for two of us. If they had a little more ambience in the restaurant we would go there and eat in. A little music and some soft furnishings would make the world of difference to people wanting to eat in. Definitely will be back though..! read more

I'm glad we have this in Ladner. With the ownership change and then closing of Bombay Joe's, we need a decent stop for Indian food, and luckily we got better than that in Doon Express. It looks like a clean and make-shift cafeteria when you arrive, and does give the initial impression of a stripped-down, non-chain fast-food joint (hence 'Express' is an apt moniker). The space is somewhat cramped for the tables on the right, as they're jammed into a tight area where the buffet line starts and ends (a problem with people bumping and pushing past consistently every time I've gone there for lunch, which is the only reason why this is four, rather than five stars, to be up front), although the larger tables on the left are more spread out and comfortable as seating. And that is the ONLY complaint I have about this place. Let's talk lunch: $14 buffet and that comes with unlimited free naan (including garlic and other specialties of the bread)! And yet this buffet is anything but cheap! Each time I've gone they switch up about half of the dishes in their lineup, with everything cooked fresh and with a uniqueness to each offering that made for a cornucopia of flavour on your plate by the time you sampled a handful of them. The chef here really puts his own personal flair to each offering. Good mix of both meat and vegetarian dishes, and a side spread of salad fixings as well. I've yet to go for dinner, but I can't see this place disappointing me ever. The sheer variety of dishes and styles means we in Ladner are not going to lose out for want of options. Service is attentive and prompt. They have delivery too, so come winter this will be on my speed-dial. read more

This restaurant chooses to include rice with all takeout orders, but you must pay if you want it for dine in. It is a weird policy but set the tone for the meal unfortunately. The food was decent. It didn't feel like $40 went very far though. All four of us were still hungry. read more
