Tasty food and nice staff. They are just very unprepared for a busy time. We ordered online on a Saturday, Valentine's Day. The email confirmation said the order will be ready for pickup in 30 minutes. We arrive 30 minutes later with a bunch of others who are waiting for their orders and 2 tables dining in. The lady tells me it will be 5-10 more minutes. Ok fine. I sit there for 30 more minutes before asking about my order that was ordered 1 hour ago. She apologized for the wait and that they were so busy. But their email system should not say 30 minutes if it will be one hour. She said she couldn't change the email. Well she could have emailed or called to tell me it will be 60 minutes so that way I'm not waiting at the restaurant for 30 additional minutes. Also, don't lie and tell me 5-10 minutes to give me false hope. Tell me the truth so I can at least go sit in my car or get my phone or do errands instead of wasting my time. It is a Saturday and Valentine's Day. That means women won't be cooking so hire more staff or fix your email system to be honest about how long it will take. Had the unfortunate experience of trying take away from this run down Indian restaurant. From the moment I walked in I was scared of how filthy dirty the whole place feels and smells. The rude young woman who took my order seems to not have any personality or idea of how to deal with customers. The aloo Gobi was so overcooked and had no spicy taste to it. Daal was so watered down you'd think it was just something that was served to prisoners! Only gave me 1/2 of a garlic naan ( I ordered 2) And the Chai was so hot that I was unable to carry it all the way to my car across the street and it fell out of my hands to the ground! Was driving by super hungry decided to stop by for their lunch special $11.50 gets you rice salad 2 vegetarian items and 3 pieces Of NAAN bread Staff is very friendly it's kind of a hole in the wall place wasn't expecting much NAAN bread was a 9 out of 10 came fresh hot and not burnt and lightly buttered could have used the pinch assault the rice perfectly done it's just rice the salad is where everything felt a little bit short the sound was not very fresh it could have used a little bit of salad dressing on it the butter panera was a 9 out of 10 I think that they make their own panera it was very tasty very fresh and very soft The DAL wasn't bad it was lacking a little bit of flavor all in all I'd give this place an 8 out of 10 pretty good value and the food was very tasty and everything was made fresh and hot read more

Skip the Dish order: Best Bites has been on my list for a bit and wasn't disappointed. We order Vegetable Lakota, Daal Bowl, Lamb Vindaloo and Tandoori Naan and Roti The Pakoras were really good, still had crunch after delivery. They came with about 10 good sized bites each loaded with flavor..definite re-order. The Daal Bowl was good, a little spice to it, good with the naan and roti. The lentils were nicely cooked. I would probably order something else next time. The Lamb Vindaloo by far was the best of the 3 dishes. Cannot deny the spice, tanginess, richness of the sauce. Big chunks of lamb and was so good. It had the perfect amount of heat where it adds to the flavor without leaving your mouth on fire. Add in the naan to scoop up and wow...highly recommend a try. The naan and roti were good and I was expecting it to be the same texture as eating at the restaurant. I wished that they packed it in parchment paper bags rather than tin foil where it made a few slices a bit soggy. Don't get me wrong, they were still good. Ordered a big takeout meal for 18 people from here, and it was fantastic. I walked in to order, asking how much food I'd need, and they were super helpful with gauging the right amount for each dish. Plus they offered complimentary rice for everything. Before tip, the total cost of the meal was less than $15 per person. Lamb Rohan josh has a delicious tomato sauce but the lamb can be stewed a bit more tender. Chicken masala is the best. Rich and delicious. Wish there were more sauce. 3.5 stars This small no frills restaurant has recently opened in Steveston and adds to the already diverse food options in the village. It is the first restaurant for the husband and wife team, him venturing out on his own after previously cooking at local establishments Embers and Ginger. Eating solo I was only able to try one dish. I ordered the lunch special, butter chicken, for around 12 bucks. It came with rice, lentils and salad and naan. The portions were not large, but this is the norm for Indian food and it was just the lunch special. Chicken wasn't quite melt in your mouth but tender enough. The rich gravy hit enough notes to play in the band but not the symphony. Butter chicken is not really a dish to explore the wonderful complexity of Indian cuisine, it's more of a gateway plate like the California roll is to sushi. With this in mind, next time I hope to be able try more plates to see if this chef's talents can really sing! The salad was fresh but lacked dressing. Lentils not really my thing so I will leave that up to others to review Naan bread was middle of the road. Food came fast and service was attentive and courteous. This is a really great Indian place. They are located in an inconspicuous corner of Moncton street without any fanfare. The food is excellent and the portion sizes during these times better than most. We always get our Indian fill from here. Our favourites are the veg pakora, channa masala, fish pakoras, any veg or non-veg curries. Pickup orders are always ready on time and service wonderful. A must try. read more

We have always wanted to try this place. It took over a chinese restaurant which took over my favourite pizza place years ago. We also heard about it from other locals so when we got the chance to try it. We did. Today in fact . This place is busy with takeouts! People were coming and going and it is the only place that sells Indian food in this town. We got the butter chicken which had a nice and spicy tomato flavour to it. The Palak Paneer is one of my fave dishes next to Bhindi masala. Both dishes come with rice or Naan. And each are $14.95.. For the butter chicken you can change it to lamb or prawns for $15.95. So did we like it? Yes. Will we be back ? For sure! I can't wait to try the other dishes. During these crazy times I'm glad that they're open for business. It's sad that many of our favourite places have closed, but it seems certain places have that calling for takeout. read more

I have to explicitly call out the papdi chaat we had it both times and they really do it well. I really like the veggie korma as well. Ordered on Uber Eats (prices are more expensive than on their website). I ordered the naan bread, chicken korma, and chicken masala. Portion was quite generous and flavour was good. I enjoyed the flavour of the korma though I liked that the masala had other ingredients like peppers and onions. I used to order 3x a week because they were my favorite taste and good quality, but the last few times I ordered there is barely any meat inside the order. (Like 2-4 small pieces of lamb only). I called to complain and they said they would take care of me next time. I said no problem, thanks for understanding. So I ordered again and reminded them what happened when I arrived. The girl went in the back to ask someone what they could do for me -but then came back and said "nothing we can do- just sorry". So I went home to eat and the meat was pretty skimpy once again. We've been meaning to give Best Bite a try for the last few months and finally tried it last night. The menu is quite varied with lots to choose from. The online ordering was simple and straight forward. The order was ready on-time and best yet, they actually called me to let me know my order was ready. I don't like these other places that keep you guessing so you end up having to go inside to check to see if your order is ready and invariably it's not ready so you have to wait around. Customer service was friendly, payment was quick and easy and was out of there in under a minute. We had the butter chicken, tandoori platter, garlic naan and regular naan. The butter chicken was perfect, not too spicy and very creamy. The tandoori platter had a great selection of tandoori chicken and kebabs. Their naan bread ranks right up there with the best. Went there based on the recommendations of wife's coworker who is Indian. The tiny, simple restaurant did not disappoint. We ordered 2 versions of paneer, tandoori platter, naan, papadum and samosa. The palak paneer was knock your socks off amazing. The tandoori chicken was flavorful and smoky. The kabobs were richly spiced but not spicy. Chicken tikka was also very richly flavored though I'd prefer if they used thigh meant, not breast. Real butter ( or ghee more likely) was used on the naan. SO DELICIOUS! The perfect place to go to and take your friends who are not familiar with Indian food to try a wide selection of their appies,curries,mains and desserts. Chicken dishes are fabulous.
