Toured Childtime in Penfield recently to find a place for our children. We were greeted by the…read moreDirector who was pleasant. Another woman was walking around with a clipboard. She wasn't very friendly and after observing awhile snapping at the Staff and actually rude to one. The way you treat staff also indicates how children are treated. The two school age classrooms Nursery and Pre-K were not really engaged in learning, It is important to play but also be learning as young minds develop quickly. There were a few older staff which was reassuring as nurturing is so important especially with babies. We continue to look, but this center needs some more experienced staff who are teachers and not just playing. We have a Pre-K child and want him to learn. My husband forgot something inside and when returned overheard the one woman commenting on our visit and didn't care if we came as we were to picky-Wow-I wouldn't recommend this place and my friends that have children there I will mention the unprofessionalism this blonde woman had.

We signed up today, worked out for 30 minutes, then picked up our son to find out on our own once we checked his bag, that he was fed a bottle that was not his. He consumed someone else's breast milk and or formula. We're still waiting on their staff to resolve this issue. If you're a parent, I don't have to explain the concern, frustration and worry that comes along with this. Needless to say this was SO not what we expected from the YMCA. We will not be back. Be careful who you decide to leave your children with.

The Eastside Family YMCA has been a service which provides our family hours of entertainment. The…read morefacilities are clean and easily accessible. The staff is very helpful when we have questions about schedules and activities. We take advantage of the child drop off which allows us to workout and gives our kids something to do. They have daily drop off times which is helpful. We also enjoy the pool and hot tub, as well as the ability to go to any other YMCA in the area and use their facilities. It is a great value for our family of 5 and while we have only been members for a month, we look forward to our weekly visits and it has become part of our routine.

However hearing the guns go off at the nearby shooting range always had me on edge in case a stray bullet came by. There was also the issue of working part time at another job, I most of the time never got out on time. The communication between some staff members were great while others there was complete lack of. If you're fine that there's a shooting range nearby, then that would be the place to go to.

I was initially very excited about enrolling my son here and had waited quite a long time for a…read morespot to open. Unfortunately, our experience ended up being deeply disappointing. During our time at the daycare, I felt that both my son and I were treated differently, and not in a positive way. At the time, my son was not yet fully adopted, and I couldn't help but feel that this may have influenced how we were perceived and treated. As a parent, that was incredibly disheartening. The transition to Jennifer Mehlenleacher & Christine Belykh was also a major factor in our experience. There seemed to be a noticeable decline in overall organization and communication, along with significant staff turnover and ongoing staffing shortages. This created an environment that felt unstable and, at times, concerning. I personally witnessed Jennifer numerous times talked down to her staff humiliating them in front of guests. Which was not uncomfortable for the guests, but it was extremely humiliating for her staff. I chose to wait before writing this review so I could reflect and compare our experience with another daycare. Having now seen what a supportive, well-run environment looks like, I can confidently say that this experience did not meet reasonable expectations. I truly hoped for a much more positive experience, and it's unfortunate that it didn't turn out that way.
