    Tuxedo Donut on a stick

Hidden in the back left corner of the shopping center and just off the boardwalk is a souvenir shop and ice cream/donut shop. But this is no typical ice cream or donut shop! The delicious food options can easily overwhelm you as they have donut sundaes, donut ice cream sandwiches, milkshakes, and of course donuts and ice cream on their own. I got a donut ice cream sandwich with a maple bacon donut (50cent upcharge) and coconut chocolate almond ice cream. You will definitely need a fork or spoon and I strongly advise getting a stack of napkins. The portions are so large we made this treat our dinner. After 2 donuts and a scoop of ice cream I was full for the night with a smile on my face. One tip: parking for the shopping center is plentiful. You cannot see the shop from the road but follow your GPS to the shopping center, walk to the stairs at the back left corner, and enter at the Hot Donuts sign.

A hidden gem in one of the shopping plazas. As the name implies, they have donuts on a stick with some interesting flavors. They also sell some gifts inside, and ice cream. Ultimately I opted for the donut milkshake which has a donut blended into the shake giving it a unique texture. It also comes with a fresh donut on top as seen in the picture. Milkshake was very good, make sure to grab extra napkins depending on the donut you choose!

Stopped here on our way up to Corolla for a wild horse tour and loved the ice cream! Wish I tried their donuts too but maybe next time :) My family and I came at around mid-afternoon on a weekend and there was a small line but it moved decently fast. One side of the menu has all the different donut options and the other side has all the different ice cream options -- there's A LOT! We ended up just going with two scoops of ice cream: butter pecan and lil blue panda (which was like a twist on cookies & cream). Both were perfectly rich and creamy and exactly what we were looking for as an afternoon snack. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

    Well labeled container.

Ordered "lifestyle" vegan donuts and some gluten free (celiac) and vegan donuts. They had our correct order and the donuts were delicious! They took special care to separate the gluten free donuts and all were labeled. Will definitely visit again! Do call ahead because they only have so many gluten free and vegan available each day.

One word, Spectacular! Not only is this one of the friendliest ice cream shops I have been to, but it is also by far one of the best. No brand name ice cream here, this is homemade and delicious. One can become indecisive trying to pick something from the vast menu, I know I did and if it wasn't for Duck donuts earlier in the morning, I would have tried one of their signature ice cream and donut combinations. Cheers!

We wanted to get ice cream for our last sunset at the beach and decided to try donutz on a stick. It did not disappoint! The line was pretty long but it was worth the wait. I got a donut Sunday which included strawberry shortcake donuts and vanilla bean ice cream. My whole family enjoyed theres as well! Also love that it was right on the water so you could easily watch the sunset. Definitely will come back next year!

My family and I love this place! Second time stopping during our week stay. In my opinion, much better than the more popular donuts. Menu is straightforward and customer service is friendly. They have ice cream, coffee, donuts, candy, souvenirs, and probably other things I didn't see. For donuts, you can order two or four on a stick. When you order two, they must be the same flavor. For four on a stick, you can pick two different flavors. They have a variety of flavors to choose from. We were told the best sellers are cinnamon bun, funnel cake, and cookies and cream so we had to try. The donuts are absolutely delicious. Very flavorful. We went twice in one week and prefer it over the well known spot in town.

The original Duck Donut shop was closed. So we came here. We were so glad that this shop was open. Our girls tried Tuxedo and Milk n' Cookies with a small stick. The portion was perfect for small kids. The donuts were freshly made. The chocolate sauce was not too sweet. The service was very friendly. Overall, I really enjoyed it. They sell toys and mug cups. The place is very cluttered. When I entered the shop, I didn't get an inviting vibe. I would recommend this place if you are craving for sweets.

The ice cream is a 5/5, no doubt. The menu is well-priced! To save even more $, grab the Tim Buck II coupon book (you can find it in the parking garages and around Tim Buck II plaza), we were able to use 3 coupons (one per purchase) without any issue to get a free donut with any dessert purchase or a free kiddie scoop with purchase of a double scoop! The strawberry ice cream is to die for - rich, creamy, strong strawberry flavor, and strawberry chunks inside. I also had their mocha almond fudge (coffee flavor with almond bits and chocolate), which was also so good. The salty caramel truffle is also a favorite for us. Didn't try the donuts but people in my group did and liked it. Apparently the donut sandwich was amazing (but messy). The only negative was the looooong wait, but that's what happens when a place is good I guess. Also wish they were open later on Saturday! We got there only to find out it closed at 6pm. The store is connected to a boardwalk by the sound which is a plus. Would be nice if there were some high tables and chairs outside. In terms of COVID, I think pretty much no one was wearing masks and there was no social distancing. This was post-vaccine (July 2021) but during delta variant starting to rise.

Like duck doughnuts but better and on a stick. The dough is slightly lighter. Had the maple doughnut with peanuts added. Great folks!

It was a chilly afternoon on the Duck Boardwalk. I wanted something warm to drink. Since I didn't want caffeine and I don't like coffee/chocolate, my options were pretty much limited to warm apple cider. We came in here and found it on the menu. I saw a deal for $1 cider if you bought a marshmallow. So I did that. Little did I realize the marshmallow cost more than the cider. Oh well. There was no social distancing happening here. Everyone was on top of each other in line. The apple cider I was given was gross. It had to have been made from a powder but even so it was bad. We ended up throwing it out. I wouldn't go here again simply because they aren't encouraging social distancing at all.

They have a gluten free option, which is appreciated. Each GF donut is $4. They are also baked unlike the traditional donuts that are fried.

You know what goes pretty well on a stick? Donuts! Especially when they are hot and covered in Chocolate and Peanut Butter or cinnamon sugar and icing like a Cinnamon Roll. You don't think those choices sound good? How about Strawberry Shortcake or Maple Bacon. Now I've got your attention. Donutz On A Stick is the better of the Duck, NC donut options. The donuts remind me of something homemade and the toppings turn them into an almost decadent treat. Donuts aren't the only thing they have. Ice cream is served for those of you trying to cool off during a hot summer day and candy covers the shelves. When in Duck get some Donutz on a Stick. They are better than ones that quack.

Watched them make our fresh hot donuts for our Sunday! Ice cream honestly 3.5/5 but donut makes it 5/5.

Anyone know what, if any, COVID precautions this place is taking?

As of last week, customers had to wear masks inside and the groups were spaced out and social distanced while in the store (when it's busy the line goes out the door). All of the workers were wearing masks as well. Also, after you purchase the… Read more

What we got instead was a dessert disaster straight out of a Jimmy Buffett fever dream. My wife ordered ice cream that tasted like it had been cryogenically frozen since the Reagan administration. You ever had ice cream so freezer burnt it crunches? Yeah, it was like that. I figured I'd play it safe and go with a cotton candy snow cone. Big mistake. I don't know what kind of cotton candy they've been sniffing in Hawaii, but mine tasted like a urinal cake in a gas station bathroom--sweet, chemical-y, and weirdly minty in the worst possible way. To top it off, the woman behind the counter grabbed the ice cream bare-handed. No gloves. Just out here raw-dogging the frozen dairy like hygiene isn't a thing. Maybe that explains the "flavor." If you're in the mood for a science experiment gone wrong or want to know what disappointment tastes like, this is your place. Otherwise, steer clear.
