A variety of donuts that make it hard to choose which one to take, so grab a dozen. You definitely won't be disappointed. A family owned shop that is clean with friendly customer service.
Got some donuts from Donut Star this morning on my way to work. I've been here a few times and what makes me keep coming back is that the donuts are really good and freshly made. They have a variety of donuts, croissants, breakfast sandwiches, drinks. The place is small but has plenty to offer. I think this is easily a hidden gem. The people are always so friendly so that's a plus.
Fantastic donuts! They were hot and fresh out the fryer... some flavors I had never seent before, like an apple fritter wrapped in a bear claw! The coffee was great, and the service was cheerful and nice. They have specials on posters posted around the shop with pictures of the hits! A lot of retirees in the parking lot on Sunday's for the "cars and coffee", check out their hot rods while you nibble on an English muffin breakfast sando.
Honestly I saw their post in the instagram and was hoping their donuts were good. They weren't. The apple fritter was extremely dry and was not even close to being sweet. It was almost vegan-like. Also if you're like 98% of the world and don't carry cash, be prepared to pay a 75 cent convenience fee to use your card.
We love the service and options at this don't shop. Donuts are fresh and delicious. Our kids pick something different each time and love every donut they have tried. I tried the maple bacon cronut and it did not disappoint! This donut shop is located in the bowling alley plaza and there is a shipping store next door which is pretty convenient.
Right when entering we were welcomed by the friendly owners and they also helped guide us through their selections. They have a lot to choose from, between the donuts and croissants so you'll probably find something for everyone. We got the chocolate with sprinkles, cream filled, maple bacon cronut, and ham & jalapeño croissant. Everything was good, although the maple bacon was too sweet for me. It's a small shop, so really more of a grab and go experience. We came on a Sunday morning and there was a car meet taking place right outside. I'm guessing this is a recurring thing after looking at some other photos that were posted.
I've been on a donut crave lately, and this happened to be the closest one. I love supporting local mom n pop shops, so I had to stop by! Upon walking in, I could smell the coffee and donuts, bringing me back to my childhood of visiting donut shops with my mom. It's a small place, so it's mainly grab n go. The gentleman behind the display greeted me with such a bright smile and was so friendly throughout the entire interaction. There were so many options to pick from but I knew exactly what I wanted lol : simple chocolate glazed donut. I also picked up a maple bar for my bf and some donut holes since they looked really good hehe + a half a dozen of donut holes was only $1! He was also just such a sweet man that he offered me a free glazed donut :') Everything came out to just a little under $6, which is so good! I didn't have cash, so I did pay with my card, so there is an extra 0.50 charge for fees which is fine for the convenience. The donuts were so yummy! They were soft, not too dense, and not too sweet. It definitely hit the spot. Will come back for sure!!! read more

Amazing service! Alan is so nice and welcoming! They have donuts all day long as of now (I just know that after writing this review, I already know it's going to be sold out) the best donut shop I've ever been to. It just gives like nostalgic vibes. I truly recommend you'll love this donut shop! read more

So, I used to live in Chino Hills and this was my donut shop go-to! Three years ago I moved to Georgia and the donuts here are nothing close to California donuts! I crave them all the time! So recently I came back for a visit and Donut Star was one of my first stops!! Linda was working and she is the sweetest lady! I bought several donuts, including apple fritters, my favorite! She even threw in a free cinnamon roll. The day before my flight home I stopped by to order a bunch of apple fritters for my kids in Georgia. They were so excited when I gave them the fritters!! We all miss the donuts from Donut Star so much. Please come to Georgia!! Haha. read more

Alan and his wife are so genuine and kind! Generous couple! The donuts here are so delicious as well. The best of both worlds. Wasn't going to write a post because then everyone will buy all the donuts. But that's ok. They deserve a post! You gotta give credit where credit is due! Amazing customer service! Great place to relax and welcome the morning, every Sunday in Chino Hills. Come get some breakfast, coffee, donuts and take a stroll around the parking lot for some cool cars. The staff in Donut Star are hospitable, freindly, and make some good breakfast. I recommend the Croissant with Eggs and Bacon, early morning favorite. I also look at the donuts and they smell delicious... But don't have the courage to eat one! LOL. Too much sugar for me. read more

My favorite neighborhood donut place and the owners are super friendly. Their donuts are always fresh, my favorites are the chocolate cake donuts and the fluffy glazed yeasts donuts. Come support this neighborhood donut shop, you won't regret it. read more
My husband and I came for the classic car gathering and decided to try the donut shop. There was a small line that went fairly quick. I got 2 Ham and cheese croissants with egg. The ham and cheese croissant is already made so they cook the egg and then heat everything together. It was really big and very good. I also got an assortment of 3 donuts and one chocolate custard cronut. The Cronut and Chocolate filled/chocolate topped donut were our favorites. Everything was good, service was friendly and the prices fair. We will definitely be back for the donuts and the Sunday classic car gathering! read more

Amazing service. Workers are extremely hospitable and nice. If you like bacon donuts, come here and get the bacon maple cronut, it is literal heaven in your mouth. Atmospheres is very welcoming. read more
