Gross. This place used to have good donuts and breakfast sandwiches. Not anymore. They must have statrwd using lesser grade ingredients. They hardly had any donuts and the plain glazed was fluffy but honestly it tasted "off". The egg, bacon and cheese pastry looked okay but after I took 2 bites I realized it had a bad smell and it really did not taste good. The small Jalapeño and cheese kolache was overpriced at $1.90. It tasted good but very poor value. Won't be back again. Too bad. When you cut corners it degrades the product. Yuk. read more

I love the small town feels when we stop by and get a quick breakfast treat from Donut Shack. It is our local doughnut shop where everyone knows each other and the staff appreciate their frequent customers. Everything is fresh and very affordable. My fave is their donut holes (Half a dozen) and a small kolache, sausage and jalapeno with cheese. I don't always want a Big Earl's so the small one is perfect to go along my coffee. My kids love their glazed and chocolate glazed donuts, they are fluffy and soft. As many times as we have come here, they never disappoint! Overall, Great service, consistent, affordable, and fresh. If you need your donut fix, absolutely come here! It's located right next to the Staybridge suites so super convenient to just walk over and grab some breakfast. I came in and got a kolache and 3 donuts. You get to pick what filling you want in the fillable donuts as well and my kolache was warmed up. Everything tasted great and fluffy. The staff was extremely friendly and nice. Prices were very reasonable! Will come to this shop for now on when in the area :) read more

We have been buying donuts and kolaches from the Donut Shack for about 2 years. My Dad and Grandpa were both Bakers and they both owned and operated their own very popular bakeries in southern Illinois. I mention this because I feel like I'm qualified when it comes to rating bakeries. The Donut Shack is the best bakery that I have been to since my Dad retired many years ago. Everything that I've eaten from this bakery is always super fresh and super yummy. The glazed donuts literally melt in your mouth. They also have awesome cake donuts. The kolaches are 2nd to none. My family goes here a lot. The man working there that day was very welcoming. When I walked in he was cleaning the tables. Nice to see they care. I came in near closing time and he gave me extra donut holes. It's not too far from home so that's a plus, and I think they have a decent selection of donuts to choose from. My daughter and I have visited this donut shop several times. She usually only eats the top sprinkles and frosting but actually ate the whole donut (one time). She's three so that's kind of a big deal. I'm not from TX so kolaches are alien to me. I was forced to try a few when I first moved here and none of them had a flavor or texture I liked. Initially I stayed away from them at the Donut Shack but decided to try it one day. Pretty good, had a local brand of sausage I believe if you chose from the top shelf choices; this kolache was better than the previous ones I tried mainly from the place that sounds like it should fix boats. My real favorites are their old fashions and cake donuts. Always fresh and super airy, not crumbly and dry like most donuts of that style. Place is clean, bathrooms are clean, connected to a gas station at an intersection so easy to get in and out. The family that runs the place is extremely nice and personable. The only reason I don't go more often is because I don't like buying bigger pants. read more

By far the best doughnut shop around! Coming from Los Angeles, I'm used to a wide array of doughnuts, from the simple to the very creative, most being very delicious. Let me tell you, Donut Shack ranks up there with my old favorites! The shop is immaculately clean, and very well lit. Back home the shops tend to sometimes be a little grimy, so this is a welcome change! The bathroom is also SO CLEAN. The owners clearly take great pride in their business, and it shows not only in their upkeep of the shop, but the quality of the doughnuts they make. They make all their doughnuts and kolaches themselves from scratch! Everything is always fresh and delicious. They also have a great selection of cake doughnuts, which I've found to be rare here in TX. The doughnuts not only taste delicious, but have the perfect texture! The kolaches are also wonderful, perfect taste, perfect texture! The jalapeño Kopaches have just the right amount of kick, great way to wake you up in the morning! Lastly, the owners are just the most delightful people you could hope to meet. Go to this place to pick up donuts and kolaches for work. Have had a lot of donuts from a bunch of places in Tomball, but this one is the best. Dare I say it is better than Shipley's? Lots of varieties in donuts that are made fresh daily. You can actually see him making them fresh there. Best donut I think is the blueberry cake donut with a nice glaze. But the simple glazed donut is good as well. Jalapeno kolaches have a little kick to them so be warned. Definitely check this place out if you are in the area. Owners are really nice. Need to get them to make some cronuts now. read more
