Bruselas Taco!!

Every Sunday night we go here, and every Sunday night we have a great experience. The Bruselas Taco is my favorite, but it's not available often enough! Service is great! Beaumer is a ROCKSTAR!

Hit Don't Look Back for some late night tacos and margs, and the tacos didn't disappoint! I ordered the Tofu Taco and Shrimp Taco with no dairy. Unfortunately, they still put sour cream on the taco so had to flag someone down to help get the tacos remade. Once fixed, the tacos were fantastic and way bigger than expected! One of our party said the Carnitas taco was one of the best she'd ever had! Service was good even though the bar was absolutely packed. Still had to wait a little bit to place an order but that's to be expected.

Really fun Mexican joint with dive bar vibes. The service is phenomenal. Every staff member greeted up with kindness and promptness. Also noticed that they make an effort to be a more sustainable / environmentally friendly business. Most restaurants will tear thru single use plastic containers without batting an eye, but DLB is different. Now about the food. Amazing traditional Mexican style tacos is their specialty. I've never tried a taco of theirs that I didn't like. But my favorites are the carnitas and the shrimp tacos, highly recommend trying those ones. You do have to pay for chips and salsa, but they give you a lot of bang for your buck. We went here for an event so we had huge servings of everything, for about 15 people. They had a nice big section of the restaurant prepared for us. We reserved a pool table as well. And for anyone who doesn't know, this building used to be an old pool spot called Triple, they've kept the Triple sign as an homage to them. And continued to have pool tables. And I'll let you in on a little known treasure of DLB. The key lime pie. Omg it is to die for. I don't even like key lime pie that much, but *this* one? Yes!! More please.

We were staying down the street, so we HAD to stop in here and grab a drink and some tacos. Loved the vibe. It was busy, fairly loud with fast, friendly service. Their jalapeno infused margarita was a thing of beauty and only $9. So refreshing and had some kick! Loved every sip. Had the potato tacos (shredded style), plus chips and guacamole and everything was super fresh and reasonably priced. We were in an out in less than an hour and could have stayed longer if we were up to more drinks. A real gem. Don't trust the review and see for yourself.

DLB has been one of my go-to spots for over a decade. I will say a few years back, the food wasn't as consistent (I'm sure covid related, supply & demand of items, etc) but they're BACK and better than ever pictured below are the nachos with carnitas and they were truly delish perfectly seasoned, crispy yet moist, and just all around damn good. go check them out!!

THE best taco spot in Richmond, no questions asked. The food options are all phenomenal - my favorites are the carnitas tacos and chicken quesadilla. The drinks are very reasonably priced and always yummy. Of course, the added entertainment through pool tables are a plus as well. The service isn't the always the friendliest, but I think that's because this is a cool guy bar and the employees try to keep that cool guy persona. All of this to say, this is my absolute favorite Richmond spot. Do yourself favor and go here.

Nachos with chicken

I've been here before in a big group but I came here today with my sister and a friend. The place gave off good vibes. I ordered nachos with chicken. They were a little dry. I'll probably order them again with extra cheese and crema. I also order the house margarita. My margarita almost tasted like water...couldn't taste the lime or tequila. My sister ordered the classic margarita and hers didn't taste great either; too much lime and was thick.

The ambiance can be described as eclectic and casual. It's great for big groups and relaxed lunches. There's a variety of menu options for food and drink. Our server was nice, but she didn't really answer our questions about the menu or substitutions, which was a little inconvenient. Also, we kept having to ask for utensils and napkins, which made our food get a bit cold. The pineapple habanero margarita tasted like spicy pineapple juice and was pretty expensive. It was pretty, but not worth the money. The food also was really average, but the portion sizes were good for sharing. The huitlacoche tacos were a little bland and soggy, the chicken chipotle tacos had a good sauce but were also soggy and the fajitas did not have enough seasoning. Not a restaurant that I would come back to, but I liked it's proximity to other dessert places nearby.

We arrived on Thursday night around 8 pm, and the parking was hit or miss. I had to circle the…read moreblock to find a spot, but it was pretty close once I did. I noticed the ice cream/yogurt spot nearby was hopping. There was a person asking for change outside the front door. We were greeted by an enthusiastic host and seated immediately at a booth up front. The server came by within seconds and brought us water and place settings. We decided to get the chips and salsa for an appetizer and a pair of melting chimichangas for entrees. I can't resist some chorizo and steak. My partner got the chimichanga without chorizo and with chicken. The ambiance was colorful with beautifully painted murals on each wall, and the atmosphere was undeniably loud. There were lots of patrons. The place was packed, even at the bar, so your mileage may vary. We received our orders within minutes of each other, so there wasn't much of a wait time. The chips and salsa were homemade, fresh, warm, and delicious (muy rico). Same for the entrees; exactly what I want in a Mexican food restaurant. The chorizo and steak were well-cooked, seasoned, and chopped finely, but not ground. I was in heaven with that chimichanga. We had to take home leftovers. The next night, heated in the oven at 325 for 30 minutes, they were similarly excellent. The night ended without dessert, sadly (too full). However, the server was quick and efficient, and he was always around to fill water and bring anything we needed throughout the meal. Great experience overall. We will definitely return here whenever we have a hankering for some good Mexican food at reasonable prices. I can recommend this place to anyone who appreciates hearty and filling Mexican food.
