If I could give a negative I would. Driver did not know what he was doing and another driver had to show him what to do. Damaged the vehicle while loading it. Then the price almost doubled and the driver would not give me a receipt. Don't use this company. So unprofessional. There needs to be some sort of laws regulating tow businesses. read more

They will take advantage of you at your weakest moment. In fairness I haven't dealt with other tow companies, but this can't POSSIBLY be the standard for doing business. I had an accident where my car was destroyed, undrivable, scrap metal. Don's Towing was assigned and what a mistake! They towed my car and within 24 hours my usless car remnants cost me $570 to retrieve. $70 for 2 days (but somehow less than 24 hours there) $25 to type in my car's info to their computer $225 For the accident tow $80 to let another company through the gate to retrieve $125 clean up - arguably much was already done by fire department before any tow truck arrived $45 battery disconnect - already done by fire department They "generously" offered to charge me $375 for them to keep my car for themselves AND then sell it to a scrap yard for more profit. Funny, the scrap yard is paying me $350 plus they picked it up from this place. Obviously this all still cost money but I got a way better deal by having another towing company finish the transaction. In short, while you're disoriented from an accident that almost takes your family, be sure the first thing you do is say no to Don's Towing. read more

Left the lights on and battery died, called our insurance company and they had Don's Towing come out. After checking there Yelp reviews i was worried, all for nothing. They were here in less than 10 minutes no joke. Would highly recommend these guys to anybody. read more

Called AAA for a motorcycle tow from the dairy queen in Ft. GRATIOT. Watched them go by twice & called the shop. Asked why they didn't stop and she said he had to go back to get raps. Omg how stupid! Waited 2 hours. Next time I will ask AAA to send someone else read more

My daughter locked her keys on her car. She called AAA and they sent a message to Don's via computer. 2 hours later, still noone was there. AAA neglected to actually call, it was 11:40p.m. and AAA did not follow protocol and call via telephone (because nobody is at work getting emails afyer 5p.m.). I personally called Don's & decided to drive up to Kroger myself and wait with my daughter until someone arrived. Don's already had a tow truck driver on site, unlocking my daughters car by the time I made the 10-minute drive to kroger. AAA tried to blame this on Don's but honestly, Don's had INCREDIBLE customer service...once they knew a customer needed to be serviced!!! They went above and beyond to get to my daughter ASAP even though it wasn't their fault that she had to wait so long! Thank you Don's! read more

Two separate occasions I have had a dead battery and the insurance company called this place both times after waiting more then a half hour after they were supposed to be here (this time almost 2hrs after I called) I had to get someone else to give me a Jump, because they were a no call no show. If there was a negative star, they'd get it. Sent by AAA to change a flat tire. The driver couldn't figure out how to change it (apparently never did it before on a 2017 dodge caravan). I then asked him if he could just fill it with air to which he responded he had an air tank but it didn't have any air in it. So since he didn't know how to change the tire, he just said he would tow it for me.... en route to belle tire, a woman called and said she needed $24.00 for the mileage overage that wasn't covered by AAA. I told her I refused to pay for anything when her driver simply didn't know how to change a tire and to send someone that could. She was rude, nasty and told me they'd just turn around and bring the vehicle back if I wasn't going to pay. I will never recommend dons towing to anyone- their customer service and the lack of knowledge to change a flat tire is ridiculous. read more

DO NOT CALL!! Waited 3 1/2 hours for them to show up. call at 930pm said they will be there at 1030pm no show, called back said they are behind and will be 11pm no show called still behind said 1130pm no show called still behind said 1215am no show called again said on the way, finally showed up at 1247am. come to find out they keep bumping me down the List due to the local police department has Priority service no matter when they need them or how many paying customers are waiting. Very disappointed and poor customer service will never call again. I even canceled my AAA road side service after 25 year because Don's towing is the only authorized company in the area of Port Huron. read more

On Wednesday, 4/25/18, our son had a single car accident in Marysville. The vehicle was off road. We tried to pull it out ourselves without success. The officer called Don's Towing. They pulled the vehicle out. There was undercarriage damage. We had Don's Towing impound the vehicle till Progressive could estimate damages. A three way call (my wife, progressive, and Don's Towing) was made on Friday and it was agreed upon that Don's Towing would tow the vehicle to a Marine City collision place, with the driver dropping the keys in the drop box that day. Don's Towing did not get the vehicle there till Monday 4/30/18. We then saw a copy of the bill. They charged us for 6 days of storage. When my wife called to complain about the storage fees, the owner then began screaming at my wife about how he's tired about people like her calling and complaining everyday. Everytime my wife tried to ask a question, the owner would cut her off and screamed at her with hostility, asking "what's the difference, the insurance company pays it". The owner then started acting like a 5th grade playground bully, ordeing her to come down and "say that to my face". I am a law enforcement officer and have dealt with tow companies for 22 years. I have never seen a company owner act like this. I called to speak to the owner yesterday and I was told that he was out. I explained the issue I had with the owner speaking to my wife and the employee apologized for the owner, he took down my phone number and promised to have the owner call me back between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm today. That didn't happen. I called back and the owner can't be found. I was billed $710 for this transaction. It was $225 alone for the police calling them as opposed to if I had called them myself with my cellphone. It cost $240 alone to tow the vehicle from the tow yard to Marine City. This is a racket and more people need to speak up against this. These people scam and lie and are making lots of money, billing our insurance companies with bogus fees, which in turn raises our rates. read more

I am very disappointed with Don's towing's service. I called and was told that a truck would be right over. I waited for 2 1/2 hours then, finally I called back and they told me they got busy and would now send a truck. It took them an additional 30 minutes to reach me. Their location was only 1/2 mile away. They could have atleast called me and informed me that they were running behind. I would never recomend anyone to use their services. The tow truck driver was a complete jerk. He refused to drop my 75 year old father off at home which was on route to the dealer his truck was being towed to. "He's not a taxi service" he says on the phone. Once he arrived the problem was clear. He was mad his dinner was ruined because he to make this run. So he took it out on the customer. It was unbelievable and so unprofessional this grown man acted like a 3 year old. read more
