I have gone with Don's Carpet Cleaning several times over the years. Recently my parents just had their carpets cleaned in their house 3 bedroom 2 bath and a set of stairs. The price was $568.00, they have went with them as well for many times but they said no more. The person that came over there was young and completed the whole job in 2 hours. There is no way you can do that in 2 hours, I don't care who you are that is not quality. There were still spots and the young man said it would be $20 additional for each spot, they declined because they never heard this before. I am very weary going with them again as this was just very recent and do not want that same individual. read more

Full disclosure, we have dogs. Dons carpet cleaners came out to clean our carpets and stain treated a few areas. We were expecting to have difficulty with some stained spots (and we did). What we didn't expect was the discovery of a bunch of other spots/stains that only came up as the carpet dried. We called them and were told that it was probably because we walked on the carpets before they were dried. This was not the case since we cordoned off the areas and no one had walked on them. They said they would come back to take care of the new spots... for which we thanked them. The technician showed up, did the work and then charged us. It would have been nice to know that they were going to charge before they did the work. A couple of weeks after they had come back, my dog had an upset stomach and made a mess on the carpet. I immediately cleaned it up, did not use chemicals, and the. used our carpet cleaner to get the last of the liquids out of the carpet. The carpet dried and the stain reappeared. I repeated this 4 times to try to get rid of the stain. I have had dogs for most of my life and I have never had a fresh stain reappear like that. I can only assume that it is something that they put on my carpet. I called them and they gave me a lot of excuses; and basically told me I was out of luck. They did offer to come back again (at my cost). I can't say I would recommend this company. read more

Don't know if good value but did what I wanted and seems like good job. Had them do hallway carpet because of pet urine that happened during home remodel. Only complaint would be spillage during cleanup on wood floor and stairs. read more

Short version: They called two and a half hours before my appointment window and told me that either they come now or not at all and I should have predicted that would happen and planned for the abrupt schedule change. Long version: Scheduled me for an arrival between 2:30-3:30pm. The office manager called me at 11:15am the day of to let me know they'd be there around 12... 2.5 hours before the window start time I was told and with a 45 minute notice! I scheduled my carpet clean as the last thing to do before I moved completely out, as recommended by the lady I initially booked the appointment with. Since I was following their advice and finishing up last minute tasks, I couldn't be ready for them so early on such short notice. I told them as much and that I could be ready by 2 instead. She said the tech could be there at 12 and be ready to clean by 1... better I guess, but still 1.5 hours before the given window and still too soon. They refused to honor the time frame or even work with me past that, and said "well... you were told on the phone that it could be before or after, and we'd call you if it was. Honestly... our schedule is subject to change. If the new time doesn't work then you'll need to reschedule. I know you were told this on the phone." I was not told that, by the way. Nor was she the person I initially talked to, and it was incredibly rude of her to accuse me of lying about what I was actually told. I even wrote down the information I received so I could be sure I did not get it wrong. I also don't appreciate the minimal effort to be helpful. Her priority was to shift blame onto me instead of come to a resolution. The response was totally immature, unprofessional, and just plain unnecessary. The professional response would have been to apologize for the miscommunication and figure out a path forward, but that wasn't what was important to her. If by giving a time frame, they meant it was possible they'd show up at any point in the day, then that's what they should have said. Again, they did NOT say that in the least. I guess I made a mistake in expecting them to give an accurate window and not realizing they'd shift it by two and a half hours on a moment's notice. I let them know that I couldn't do another day, as I was leaving the state, and again that I could have everything moved off of the carpet and vacuumed to be ready at 2 for them. The office manager said that wouldn't work and asked if I wanted to cancel. I told her no, I needed to keep the appointment, and that I'd be ready at 2 and they could do what they needed to do if they couldn't make the given time frame work. I guess she cancelled my appointment because nobody ever showed. I had told her that by not fulfilling their commitments, they were leaving me in a bind to fulfill my lease obligations before move out. She let me know she was sorry I felt that way. No, that's not just how I feel, that's what happened. They left me in a bind. Not that it was a genuine response anyway, that phrase is and was meant condescendingly. That's how the office manager was from the start though- not polite, helpful, or understanding at all, just patronizing with snarky, backhanded responses. Anyway, I don't think she did care about me, as one customer, as she said that "they're bringing in plenty of money and have a long cancellations list". ....um, okay. Thanks for letting me know? She did offer to recommend other companies to me though... If you want a company that cares about their customers and upholds commitments, or a company that can provide an accurate arrival window, I would go somewhere else. Or book the 8 o'clock appointment as I was told "that is the only appointment they can guarantee". This company is unreliable, and with such disappointing customer service to boot. Anyway, Chubby Chubby Carpet Cleaners saved the day. They showed up in the time frame they told me, were reasonably priced, were so so so kind and professional, and did a fantastic job! I was in a bind because the original carpet cleaner I had scheduled never showed or called and I was placing my house on the market the next day - In comes Don's Carpet Cleaning to save the day! Early the next morning (same day my house went on the market), Ben (from Don's) showed up on time, professionally dressed, cleaned my carpet (to include the stairs), and then gave me detailed instructions to help the carpet dry faster (which was mostly dry immediately after cleaning).  The machine he used stayed in the van, all he brought in was the cleaning hose that reached every inch of the house. No machine = No dents or scratches on walls and doors of a house that is going on the market. And the cleaning products he used smelled really good. They are PROFESSIONAL, proficient, work quickly, and on top of all that - they are family owned. We are new to the area and are so pleased that Don's Carpet Cleaning was referred to us. We recently moved to Bainbridge Island and contacted Don's Carpet Cleaning to see if they could salvage our off-white sofa which was badly stained during transit with the moving company. Our sofa arrived off the moving truck with multiple dark stains and water stains along the back and sides. Luckily we did not attempt to clean the upholstery ourselves.....It is better left for professionals! Don's Carpet Cleaning was very responsive from our initial call and scheduled us for their next available appointment on the island. We received a timely e-mail reminder of our upcoming appointment and were pleased when they were able to get out a little earlier in the day (with adequate notification). This is a family-owned business and we couldn't have been more pleased with the service that Ben provided. He was very pleasant, professional, kind and well-groomed. He explained what he was going to do and took the time to do his best on removing the stains. We are extremely pleased with the results! Lastly, I shared a little personal info with Ben regarding our move to Washington State. I told him that we had moved out here to seek Integrative Cancer Treatment for my wife. As Ben was packing up the truck, my wife returned home. Ben went out of his way to politely ask my wife if she would be open to him saying a prayer for her.
