Our dryer wouldn't start last night, and I found SimpleFix via all the great Yelp reviews…read more Submitted a request online and within minutes received a reply and said they would come out today between 12-2. At 12:10 Mahmoud arrived at my door. Very presentable and professional. Basically spent over an hour with our dryer examining everything, taking it apart, and determined that the drive motor was at fault (8 yr old unit). It's too bad these "modern" units don't last decades like the ones we grew up with, but that's a different issue. Mahmoud informed us of the estimate to fix, and basically it's about as much as a new unit. So I went onto Costco.com and bought a new dryer. Mahmoud charged the $65 inspection fee, and I believe it was worth every bit, especially since he spent probably 90 minutes of his time here. It's good to know that these professionals exist and if we ever have issues with our other appliances, I'll know who to call first. Thanks!

Mahmud was knowledgeable, polite, and efficient. I would definitely recommend SimpleFix Appliance Repair.

The Repair: Alex came quickly and diagnosed the problem as a malfunctioning circuit board. He gave an upfront quote of $355 for parts and labor, ordered the replacement part, and returned a few days later to install it. He replaced the circuit board, tested the dishwasher functions, and had everything working again in under an hour. The final bill was exactly the quoted $355--no surprises. Our 9-year-old dishwasher has a new lease on life! Overall: The whole process, from the initial response to the completed repair, was easy and professional. Alex was courteous, knowledgeable, thorough, and efficient, and he kept the work area extremely clean. We'll definitely save Alex's contact info for future appliance repairs. I had a really strong experience working with North Breeze on a full HVAC replacement and zoning…read moresetup, and what stood out most was how different their approach was from other companies we spoke with. Several competitors leaned heavily on sales-driven recommendations and were quick to dismiss questions or concerns. North Breeze was the opposite. They approached the project from an engineering perspective -- thinking through system design, airflow, zoning behavior, and real-world use instead of just quoting equipment. That made a huge difference in both the decisions we made and the final result. Their communication throughout the process was excellent. They were responsive, clear, and willing to engage thoughtfully with detailed questions, even when we were trying to understand more nuanced behavior of the system. I never felt brushed off or pressured into a quick decision. After installation, we had a specific question about how one of the zones was behaving. Rather than dismissing it, they came out, spent several hours diagnosing the system, and made adjustments to ensure it was working as intended. That level of follow-through and willingness to dig into the details really stood out. Four months later, the system is now working well, and we feel confident in both the install and the support behind it. If you're looking for a team that treats HVAC as a system to be designed and tuned -- not just sold -- North Breeze is a great choice.

However, the pricing was extremely disappointing. The issue turned out to be worn drum rollers -- a relatively inexpensive part (around $30) and the repair took roughly 30-40 minutes. Despite that, the total charge was very high and far out of proportion to the parts and labor involved. For only a few hundred dollars more, I could have replaced the entire dryer. I felt taken advantage of due to my lack of technical knowledge about appliance repairs. Because of this, I would not use his service again and recommend others ask for a detailed quote and parts breakdown beforehand, better yet, find someone more reasonable.
