Appliance Masters, is a great company. I rent a home in Santa Clara and had my landlord refer me to them. I called to have Appliance Masters help me with a Maytag oven that wasn't heating up. They were able to get me an appointment the same day and the tech had my oven working within 1 hour of his arrival. This was only a month or two ago. Then, today I had my commercial Whirlpool clothes washer stop during it's cycle. I looked up youtube videos and tried everything I could think of to get the washer to allow me to open the lid so I could retrieve my clothes. Through the guidance of Appliance Masters, I was able to diagnose and fix the issue without even having them come out. (The electrical outlet lost power, breaker wasn't flipped so it wasn't immediately noticeable). The gentleman there at Appliance Masters answered my several calls as I went through the steps to figure out the problem and was cordial and very helpful. Lorenzo was terrific! The cooling fan on our oven suddenly changed to "always running" and wouldn't shut off. This required removing the oven from casework and disassembly of various covers and multiple pieces. There were several possible things to check and Lorenzo was systematic and thorough until he found the non-functioning part which was replaced promptly. We are now back to normal cooking. While the oven was fully exposed, a broken door spring was discovered and repaired. It's a joy to have the door open and close as it should. Can't recommend Lorenzo highly enough! My dishwasher broke right before the holidays and I was really stressed out about it and didn't know who to call. Through a recommendation I received, Lorenzo came out the next day and took time figuring out what the issue was. The new part came in within days and 5 days later Lorenzo came back to replace the broken part and my dishwasher is as good as new again! And with a week to spare before Thanksgiving! Lorenzo was recommended by another 5-star Yelp refrigerator repair person who wasn't able to come out. Lorenzo gave a reasonable, same-day timeframe, texted me when he was on his way, and was professional through every step. He took time to analyze my problem, not speculating despite my early eagerness to know what was wrong. It turned out my 6-year-old Samsung refrigerator (Don't buy them! Seriously!) has multiple issues as I suspected because the fridge wasn't cooling well (temperature at about 44 degrees) for weeks, then suddenly the freezer stopped cooling. Lorenzo took time to calculate what would be needed to repair it, and how much it would cost. (Some repair people would likely just skip ahead and say it's not worth fixing.) He also took time to write a detailed report on the invoice about his findings: Unit not cooling in both compartments. Checked compressor and inverter not sending enough power. Resistance for compressor 13 ohms which was slightly higher than specs. Need to replace inverter board to further test compressor. Finally, his rate for the service visit was $25 less than the one-star Yelp business (seriously, it has 12 one-star reviews) that Samsung's customer service had contact me. Oh, and the person from Samsung suggested that, before I have a service person come out, I should first unplug the refrigerator for 5 minutes and plug it back in to restart it "like a smartphone." Anyway, I'm very happy with Lorenzo's professionalism and would call him again. read more

My fridge wasn't cooling and I could barely find anyone who was able or willing to work on fridges. Several calls later, I was finally directed towards Appliance Masters. I could not have had better service with Lorenzo. He was responsive (clearly communicating the contact information he needed from me and his rates, which were very reasonable), punctual (texting when he was on his way and showed up on time), courteous (I felt so comfortable talking to him and asking him appliance questions), and extremely knowledgeable (my fridge was tricky but he knew exactly what needed to be checked and tested). The repairs ended up costing more than the fridge was worth, and he was honest and direct about it. That was hard information for me to hear (ugh fridge shopping), but Lorenzo knows fridges and recommended some sturdy brands and models that best fit my needs. Since that visit, he has also taken a lot of time out of his own schedule to answer my questions and calls. I have a 60 year old vintage GE refrigerator that just stopped cooling. I couldn't find anyone in the bay area that said they worked on these guys - but, on a recommendation, I got connected with Lorenzo at Appliance Masters. Though he didn't know how to work with these when he started - he did the research and eventually got it working. Lorenzo was extremely courteous, diligent and, ultimately, very competent. Fri 2/3/17 Lorenzo Dominguez of Appliance Masters (Appliance & Refrigeration Repair) repaired our gas top stove igniter and electric element switch for the grill in the center of the four gas burners. He called and arrived exactly when he said he would and did a perfect job at a very reasonable price.
