Another hidden gem. Can't believer there are 2 AYCE sushi places in Chino. Dono Sushi in a welcoming spot for fresh sushi and Japanese comfort food. The menu features a great mix of traditional nigiri, sashimi, and creative specialty rolls, along with hot dishes like ramen and teriyaki. They are similar to Sake 2 Me sushi in that they ahve a discount on their rolls and sushi. However, the best part is that you can order a half roll and still get it 50% price. That's a better way to try many different flavors for a great deal! Top menu highlights include the Rainbow Roll, Tiger Roll, and Dragon Roll, which are not only flavorful but also beautifully presented. All are delicious. The sashimi is fresh and generously cut and the sushi tastes so frech. We got our order to go but can see how busy and popular it is here. The restaurant is clean and inviting, and the staff is attentive without being rushed. Portion sizes are satisfying, and prices are reasonable for the quality. Overall, Dono Sushi in Chino is a reliable spot for both casual sushi nights and a sit-down Japanese meal with friends or family. They also have ice cream that you can order. I got some to go and ate it on the drive home.

Just driving by this place and looking for a place to have dinner. I saw the all day happy hour for 50% off. Almost sounds too good to be true. But it's true! Many things on the menu is really half off. (Maybe overpriced to start, but still 1/2 off). Every sushi roll is half off and it's basically 8 piece. It came with a bowl of miso soup. I have the salmon roll and the yellow tail roll. Since the price is so good I ordered another set of salmon roll to go. Place is not that big but enough to fit many customers. I applaud the one server girl who works so hard spinning between tables to serve everyone. I know they're probably understaff. I compliment her that she's doing a good job! Because they're understaff they closed on takeout. Understandable. The sushi roll itself was wrapped not tight. If anything it's the chef's fault. For the price I would come back again.

My grandson and I are trying out all the sushi spots in the area. Dono is in an easy location with plenty of parking. The vibe is worn down and boring. The gal serving us was nice. Sushi was fresh but nothing overly exciting. We got a rainbow role and eel roll and crunchy scallops. Miso soup was on the house. No drinks, bill was just under $40.

We stopped by Dono Sushi while at the plaza after seeing their 50% off deal on all sushi and rolls, plus all-day happy hour. It sounded like a great deal, so we decided to give it a try. It was around 2 PM on a Saturday, and the place was pretty quiet, with just a few tables taken. We ordered: Volcano Baked Roll - The roll was pretty small, even with the 50% discount. Unfortunately, the portion didn't feel like much, and the taste was just okay--not bad, but not memorable. I definitely wouldn't order it at full price. Kids Dinner Set - We got the teriyaki chicken, which came with French fries and nicely cut orange. The portion was decent, and my kid liked the teriyaki sauce so much that he ate a bowl of rice with it. However, the chicken itself was super dry and hard to eat. The fries and orange were fine, but the dry chicken was disappointing. Combo (2 Items) - We went with California rolls and mixed tempura. Both were very standard--nothing special, but nothing to complain about either. Overall, the 50% discount made the price reasonable for what we got, but I wouldn't pay full price given the taste and portion sizes. The food was okay, but not enough to make us want to come back anytime soon.

    Energy Roll. Awesome.

Damn. I've been going here the better part of 20 years and this might've been my last time eating here. The food has lost all flavor and taste. This includes everything we ate. From the knock of sriracha hot sauce to the garlic edamame to the 4 rolls my gf and I ordered. There was no flavor to anything! I liken it to convalescent home sushi... where all the food is tasteless as to not upset the elderly folks' stomachs. I don't know if it's the prep, the chef or if the owners are buying cheaper versions of what they used to buy. Either way, it doesn't matter. I probably won't be going back. My gf said the same thing. The sushi and all that we ordered had no flavor. It's a shame. ** UPDATE** The Day After... Well, me and my girlfriend have been ill overnight and into this morning. We've both had CONSTANT diarrhea with lots of fish oil involved. (Sorry for the semi-graphic description.) The stomach cramps are intense. Looks like my 17 year love affair with Dono Sushi has come to an end. They have great servers and Albert is a good guy and great chef. He always took care of me. I'll miss them.

Dono sushi is genuinely the best sushi place i've ever had! I've grown up coming here since 2010 and it still is just as tasteful!! The service is amazing and the staff are so friendly! The parking is easy to find and the restaurant has as great atmosphere and the chefs are great and sweet! 10/10

    Had to send this back.

Went in 25 mins before closing. Our server was extremely friendly, she immediately let us know that last call would be coming up shortly. Which was not a problem at all. The restaurant was clean, and would have been inviting if not for the sushi chef who was noticeably upset to see us walk in. The menu was inexpensive, and had lots of options to pick from. Since it was late we kept our order simple. We did get miso soup along with our rolls. Unfortunately after receiving my simple salmon roll, I had to immediately send it back. The way that this role was made was just insane. It was not only falling apart but just completely mushed. As to not further annoy the chef, I declined to order anything else or a replacement. I'm sad I didn't like this place. I would not recommend.

There's always a first for everything, right? Tonight I had my first experience where I got charged $2 extra for asking to change my spicy salmon roll to NON spicy salmon roll. They said because they put more salmon in it. Hmmm, okay. It's very bizarre to me, also they didn't notice me in advance. It's not about the $2, it's about the notification if you need to charge your customer extra. That's not cool at all. The food is mediocre, and took a while for our food to come, and there were only us and another table at the restaurant. Overall experience 3 out of 5. Definitely not my favorite sushi place in Chino Hills. DONO sushi. Sure, I will DO NO(more) sushi with you.

WILL NOT BE RETURNING. poor food quality and service, but on top of that, terrible management.

Ozeki Sushi Review -- AYCE Sushi for $37.95? Say less…read more I'm always looking for a sushi spot that delivers on quality, flavor, and value, and Ozeki Sushi definitely impressed! From the moment we arrived, the service was excellent. Our server Gisel was amazing -- friendly, attentive, and made sure our experience was great from start to finish. Great service always makes a meal even better. We tried their all-you-can-eat sushi menu for only $37.95 per person, and it was absolutely worth it. The menu had a great variety, and the sushi came out fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Standout dishes: Lemon Sauce Salmon -- 10/10 (the star of the meal!)This was not your typical salmon roll. The fresh salmon was topped with their delicious lemon sauce and finished with a fresh lemon wedge right on top. The combination of the creamy, tangy lemon sauce with the brightness of fresh lemon added such a refreshing flavor that made this my favorite dish of the night. Salmon Hand Roll -- 10/10 Fresh, balanced, and packed with flavor. The perfect hand roll with a great salmon-to-rice ratio. Baked Lobster -- 10/10 Rich, savory, and full of flavor. Definitely one I'd order again. Chicken Teriyaki Bowl -- A pleasant surprise! The chicken was tender, flavorful, and the sauce was delicious. The drink specials were another win! Their buy one, get one free soju for only $12.50 is such a great deal. My personal favorite was the blueberry soju -- sweet, refreshing, and the perfect pairing with sushi. Ending the meal with the strawberry mochi was the perfect finishing touch. A light, sweet dessert to wrap up an amazing sushi experience. Overall, Ozeki Sushi checks all the boxes: great value, fresh food, friendly service, and delicious flavors. The wait staff is usually pretty attentive but the last time it was kinda slow, but we had to flag a waitress down to get refills and the check. We were seated right away by the manager, Joyce, who walked us through the menu & explained how the ordering process worked. She made everything so easy! They were both absolutely delicious & served in the cutest little glasses! The restaurant itself has such a fun atmosphere. They have a beautiful cherry blossom tree that's perfect for photos, Sapporo lanterns hanging throughout the restaurant, & sushi banners against the brick walls that really tie everything together. We decided to go with the Premium All You Can Eat menu, & the food just kept getting better with every round. We started with the spicy edamame, which had the perfect amount of heat, & the calamari, which was crispy & so flavorful. Would definitely order that again & again!(: The jalapeño bombs were so spicy & yummy! Next came the rolls, we ordered a couple of salmon rolls that were both incredible. The one topped with crunchy flakes was easily my favorite. I'm still thinking about that roll! Of course, we had to order plenty of nigiri. We tried the seared salmon, seared tuna, salmon, tuna, red shrimp, halibut, otoro, beef, & snow crab. Everything was fresh & delicious, but I have to give a special shoutout to a few favorites. The snow crab literally melted in my mouth, the halibut was buttery & amazing, the beef nigiri completely surprised me with how flavorful it was. Choosing the Premium AYCE was definitely the right decision. (: We ended up doing two rounds & left completely full, happy, & so satisfied. I also have to mention the outstanding customer service. Joyce truly went above & beyond. She constantly checked in on us while somehow managing both the front & back of the restaurant. She was seating guests, helping the staff, clearing/ cleaning tables, sweeping the floors, & still making sure every customer felt taken care of.
