I'm pleasantly surprised and really glad to stumble upon this amazingly good sushi place. Top notch quality of sushi with fresh ingredients using top grade certified seafood, similar to the what you'll find at upscale sushi places. For best experience, sit at the bar and the super talented chef Jeff will treat you to an omakase experience that you will remember for a long time. This is a good place to take out of town guest who appreciates good sushi and a lively conversation with the chef as he expertly prepares your food. Let the chef work his magic and you'll leave happy and satisfied.

We decided to come here for dinner on a Sunday night and have been looking for a good sushi spot to try out. I am from the South Bay and feel like I have pretty high standards when it comes to sushi. We got sat at the bar, right in front of sushi Chef Jeff, our favorite place to sit when at a sushi restaurant. Personally, I love watching my food be prepared. I was blown away by how fresh the sushi was and how hospitable our server and Chef Jeff were. Jeff asked what we liked and provided some recommendations. He was very funny and personable and I really enjoyed talking with him. We started with the Happy Time Roll which was wonderful! Salmon is my favorite so I loved that this roll had shrimp tempura, salmon and tuna. It was decorous! I also ordered salmon toro nigiri which was nice and fatty, just the way I liked it. My bf had the chirashi bowl which was amazing! We will definitely be back! Thank you Chef Jeff for the amazing experience!

If you are looking for sushi that is not going to give you just a full belly for being ayce, just come here please. The owner is a man that truly knows about his field, a great man, and even more a sushi chef. I have been to some world class omakases at the price of a limb, so come now, because one day it will be mega famous and you will be begging for a seat. I will not even comment on the culinary adventure I had here, come find out for yourself.

I ordered the chirashi bowl and the server was pushing me to try their omakase instead. I almost caved before realizing that I didn't have the stomach space for it, and was glad I stood my ground. The chirashi came and instantly the fishy smell hit me in the face. I was hoping maybe the taste would be better, but it was not. Only the salmon was tasty. All the other fishes were too fishy for me. Even the sushi rice itself was more al dente and hard than nice soft pillows. I was hungry and had to eat what I could as I didn't want to waste the food. We told the server the issue and the reply was an awkward, " I'll let the chef know." Needless to say, I won't be returning.

This place is getting slept on, are you kidding me? Came here on a random Saturday evening because my three year old wanted sushi. Just happened to be in the area, so popped in only to find we were the only group during prime dinner time. Y'all.... GTFO. We initially just wanted a few of our usual, not even anything fancy or big -- salmon, tuna, yellowtail, cali roll. Sushi so butter, we had to order more. Scallop, salmon toro, and ikura for round 2. Then I had to ask about a chef rec to keep it going. Breh. Lemme tell you about Chef Jeff's rec, the coveted seasonal AKAMUTSU. I thought I knew my nigiri's, but apparently not. This premium fish was crème de la crème. I know for a fact I'm coming back here for omakase. What was I thinking? Our server, Josh, was a G. Super attentive, conversational, and felt like we were long time buds. Chef Jeff oozes passion for the craft. Hooked it up with that kizami wasabi AND green tea ice cream to cap the night. He really made the atmosphere feel like family (and even had his family there in the restaurant with him -- love it). He took our photo to be put up on the wall at the end of our meal, so we really felt like the belle of the ball. Everything about Oyishi is top-notch. Selfishly, I'd love for this place to always be this low key so it's a hidden gem we can always go back to without having to wait a long line. Realistically, what are y'all doing?! How is there not a long line for this place already??? Wild.

My husband and I just had lunch here and we really enjoyed the omakase set. Very fresh and colorful sushi in a nice presentation. The chef and staff were so friendly and nice too. Plenty of parking in the lot also.

Me and my wife are new to the area looking for a great place for sushi that didn't focus on the variation of sushi rolls that many modern spots love to push. To our surprise we ended up finding this spot not too far from where we live. We walked in on a Friday night around 730pm, in a near empty restaurant. I was skeptical at first but the sushi chef had us sat at the bar. He offered us the 17-course omakase which we gladly obliged. We started with tempura vegetables and carpaccio, and then when onto the Nigiri, sashimi, grilled sushi and ended with scallops and Amaebi dishes. The quality was AMAZING, it was one of those moments where after the first few courses I asked "where do you get your fish from?" The chef replied passionately that he ships the fish from Japan, using 1-day shipping. It all made sense as I wouldn't expect the fish that we were eating to be domestically caught and frozen over long periods. The Chef and the manager made the experience amazing as well. Dishes bussed immediately in between courses, chef cracking jokes, drinks flowing. I was thoroughly impressed. Being that it was fairly empty I'm not sure how they would perform if they were booked, but I was satisfied with the service while I was there. This will be a regular sushi spot for me!

I ordered the premium chirashi don and it was fantastic -- fresh, generous portions of fish and beautifully presented. What really stood out was Chef Jeff, the owner. He came by to talk with us three different times, which made the whole experience feel so warm and personal. Great food, great service, and a place I'll definitely be coming back to!

Love this place! It's a hidden gem in the inland empire. We appreciate the freshness of each dish, along with exceptional flavor. Very reasonably priced considering the quality & quantity. The service is exceptional, warm & caring. Each dishes served is made with consideration. The vibe is awesome! Very soothing. Hope to see you guys soon with more friends and family

    The beautiful omakase

Chef Jeff!! Amazing and personable chef, he was definitely a highlight for us when we came to visit at the opening hour on a Saturday. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and modern. Plenty of surrounding parking in a quiet plaza. We were seated right away and ordered two omakases, the premium chirashi, a the fish collar meal, and one sashimi plate. I forgot to take photos of most of them because we were ready to dig in but look how beautiful the omakase was! You can tell Chef Jeff plated and dressed these gorgeous nigiri's with care. The fish quality for all dishes was really good! I loved the variety of the omakase and their yuzu and fresh wasabi seasonings were perfect pairings. We had a very interesting experience with their Ikura, it was the first time I've ever had Ikura that was not salty and did not pop in your mouth, it had a more chewy texture! My friend said she actually liked that more than the salty version but it was definitely different! Amaebi was great and we had plenty of tempura shrimp heads to go around. What I appreciated about Chef Jeff was his humbleness and his desire to obtain feedback, you can tell he's very interested in improving and making sure customers are enjoying themselves. Their shishito peppers were less blistered than I've seen in other places, it was more plump and chewy than I was used to but it was good with the sauce and Benito and the perfect amount of spicy! The edamame was also fresh and just the perfect amount of salt was placed on them, they were warm and didn't taste frozen at all like maybe some places do. Bento was nice and hearty, my aunt said she would've liked a little sauce on it but it did come with lemon wedges as most do! Staff was attentive and quick with serving food, I think we'd want to come back to try some of their rolls and this yuzu peach drink I was told about (I couldn't order it because I'm allergic to peaches but it sounded good!). Overall a pretty solid place for sushi. Thanks for a great experience Chef Jeff!

Spider Roll ( a little small compare to other spider rolls but it was good)

You can selct the spicy level. I got to try both levels 1 and 2. Level 2 is on the spicier side and just on the cusp of being too much. I think 3 would be too spicy to enjoy, imo. One thing to keep in mind is that the bowls don't automatically include the salted egg, so you'll have to shell out a few extra dollars if you want that classic topping. While the meal itself was a hit, the logistics of the meal were a bit more frustrating. The service was fairly lackluster and felt mostly absent; we waited quite a while for attention, and the overall pace was very slow. It's the kind of place where you have to be proactive if you need a refill or the check. Additionally, the cleanliness of the restaurant is a major concern. Everything felt "sticky" from the tables to the floors and the bathrooms were definitely not well-maintained. It's hard to fully enjoy a premium-priced meal when the environment feels a bit neglected. On a brighter note, the location is very convenient. Since it's tucked into a large strip mall, parking is incredibly easy and stress-free, which isn't always the case in Chino Hills. If you are a "food first" person who doesn't mind a bit of grit and slow service, the ramen is worth a try, but the management could definitely step up the cleaning
