Didn't catch the young man's name who served us, but he provided good table service and answered questions about their menu. I ordered the Shoyu Ramen bowl with chicken and it was pretty good. Came with four pieces of chicken strips, sliced bamboo, half an egg, green onion, and noodles. The broth was pretty yummy and hit the spot. Good things first....Taste of the food was great, on par with the food we had at the Irvine location which is why we wanted to come here. We have come by this location a few times and wondered why the crowds were thin compared to when we were at the Irvine Spectrum, so we gave it a try this past Saturday. Not sure if they were short staffed, but I felt the service was a bit off. Anything we wanted, water, napkins, etc, we had to ask for or flag someone down. Same thing when getting the bill. The ramen was just as good as Irvine, but the Spicy Tuna Roll was notably much smaller. Came here on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy. We got seated right away as a party of 5. Service was very quick, they took our order right away and got us water with a water pitcher. We had kids and they didn't have anymore cups with lids so we had a few spills.. we were celebrating my daughter's bday and we asked if they did anything for bdays. They said yes so we waited. Then our first server came to check us out. We also said it was our birthday and he told us that they don't really do anything but he comped us out sushi. Came here on a Saturday night for take out. Was told it was a 20 min wait for the food so came back exactly in 20 min, but by the time I got back to the in-laws place who lives 5 min away, the bun dishes were already cold!! It wasn't like cooled down cold, you can tell the buns were not heated and the meat was cold as well. I don't know if they just make their buns that way (majority of places I go to heat their buns) but for comparison, I also got the chicken Karaage and that was somewhat still warm, so it was odd that the meat was just straight up cold. Chicken Karaage - didn't have that punch of saltiness or umami that other Japanese restaurants have and was not crispy enough either -overall pretty bland and I think they forgot to give me the sauce since I saw it on the picture, but didn't realize until I was home Pork bun - this was the only decent item that I tried - the pickled onions paired well with this dish Spicy chicken bun -not worth the almost $6 price tag for 1 bun and small chicken inside. Ramen is good, prices are reasonable, bathrooms are clean, and our server was nice. Overall no complaints. The only thing I recommend is adding some kid meal options to the menu. I came with my young son and he can't eat a full size ramen by himself. There were also tons of families in the restaurant so it seems like it would be well received. I ended up ordering a side of noodles and just giving him some of my soup. Also tacked on some chicken karaage for a combo and also a side of broccolini. Our waitress were amazing at accommodating all our extra needs as we had our littles with us. She provided us with all the extra spoons and bowls for them. The ambiance is casual. Came on a Friday night around 8pm. The place had around 3-4 other parties seated inside. ==FOOD== I got the Cajun Mazemen. I wanted to try it since it stood out to me the most. Maybe that was my first mistake. The Cajun sauce was not that spicy, but it was super salty. It came with 2 shrimp, and 4 pieces of sausages. It also had corn, green onions, and a lime. The menu said to squeeze the lime juice on the noodles and mix with the cajun sauce. The biggest reason I deducted stars is because the noodles were not cooked all the way??? The noodles were still hard and clumped together at the bottom of my bowl. ==SERVICE== Girl at the front desk was very nice and answered all the questions I had about the ramen and appetizers. ==AMBIANCE== Interior is pretty nice and the wall art is pretty. We came here on a whim due to our other ramen spot being temporally closed and it wasn't too bad. When we first arrived we had to sign in and wait for a table, the guy in front explained it was going to be "a pretty long wait" . Honestly I think he was just trying to get rid of us because we only ended up waiting 5 minutes for a table and the dining area cleared out pretty swiftly after that. We ordered the fried gyozas (you can get them fried or grilled but our server recommended fried), they weren't terrible but the sauce that came with it wasn't the best. We opted to use the complementary soy sauce to dip our gyozas in. The ramen was pretty good, I ordered the classic with chicken ( not pictured unfortunately) and it was excellent , the broth was good and the noodles weren't brittle. My wife ordered the Blaze with chicken ( pictured) and she was thoroughly enjoying it up until she tried to eat her egg and it had an eggshell still on it. Unfortunately she wasn't able to finish after that, but says if you go no egg it's good. The ambiance is quaint and cozy, not too loud or too quiet. All the components were good and expected. I liked the thick slices of the pork that made it taste heartier than other ramen bowls with thinner slices or a smaller portion. I also liked the texture of the noodles. My pickup order was prepped quickly and ready on time so I give the service 4 stars. I have been wanting to try this place ever since they opened. Not a huge ramen fan so when we had guests in town, I took them here. I was beyond disappointed. We went on New Year's Day at 5pm. Server was great. Ordering was great. Then came with the food. The ramen came out fast but that was it. I ordered the Shoyu and had only 3 small pieces of chicken. I ordered the combo and the appetizer never came. When asked, they said they ran out and will take it off of our bill. But when I asked for a to-go box, suddenly they can give me the appetizer in a to-go box. My 2 out of town guests ordered rice bowls. One came out as a kiddie bowl. The other was told several items were missing/out of stock. Are they kidding me?! This was at 5pm and they are out of this and that already? Should had just close for the day! They did take the rice bowls out of our bill. I was going to order take-out for a family member that didn't join us. It was painful as it is with their weird out of stock and then back in stock items. I can't wait another 30 mins for a new order that may or may not happen. I didn't order the take out and end up getting it from Formosa Bento. Should had took my entire party to Formosa Bento in the first place! I will not be returning. Never had a meal this painful. When we ordered Karaage Chicken, lady server did not give us extra plates we had to use napkin.We will file a complaint to BBB it was cold rainy day, I arrived with my family ( husband plus two sons ages 13 and 19) and there were two customers ahead of us. They said we have to wait 10 minutes. We are willing to wait and it is normal to wait in a restaurant especially on a busy day. Two customer ahead of us got seated right away. We noticed there were tables available but we were wondering why we had to wait... We patiently waited and it was over 10 minutes, my husband asked guy server and he gave us a menu and said \" since you will wait 10 minutes here\'s the menu\" But I was thinking another 10 minutes?. We were waiting in the waiting area by the glass door when it is very cold, While waiting, we saw lady server (mid length hair, wearing glasses, same server we get every time we visit) used bare hands when she grabbed the seaweeds. We felt he is racists!! Lady server came and told us that they dont have manager on duty so why Matthew lied. Same thing this lady server did not even apologize but instead she said in a rude way "are you still going to dine in or not" she sounded like she wants to kicked us out.. Located in a huge outdoor shopping center with a great amount of parking and well known stores. It was a good choice to go for our lunch. They have indoor/outdoor dining with heating lamps to keep you warm. Good selection of choices to choose from as well their drink menu. I like my ramen piping hot, especially since it was a cold, rainy day. 2) $17.50 seems a bit on the high end, especially since it wasn't hot. Also, for that price, I felt it needed more noodles and more than 1 slice of pork belly. The garlic flavor was good, but I couldn't detect truffle. 3) My husband got the Mabo Tofu.
