The girls at Camp Hill were such a delight to deal with, and I really wanted to try a little bit of everything in the front cabinet... and the bread racks. My order was all ready to go, and I had to struggle to choose just two breads from the shelves as part of the voucher. I ended up getting a spelt loaf and a pumpkin & blue vein loaf. You did not misread. Yum! I got them both in freezer bags, but if you're going to eat them fresh, Rock 'n' Roll put them in a paper bag instead (it's better for the bread). I got so excited about the breads, I almost forgot about the other parts of the order - a family-size lamb & rosemary pie, and a gluten free orange & almond cake. The cake is moist and full of flavour (I do admit to Cheesecake Regret when I saw the beautiful lime cheesecakes in the cabinet, despite not having that as an option with my voucher). The lamb & rosemary pie? Absolutely delicious. Big chunks of tender lamb in a creamy sauce. I'm not going to lie to you - I've had it for four of my six meals of the last two days, and I might cry when it's gone. I was craving their chocolate flourless raspberry hazelnut cake today which prompted me to come back and write this review, and see if they have any locations in the US :D All the desserts are absolutely gorgeous and delicate with rich flavor and texture. I'd had my heart set on the raspberry one (I'll do anything for raspberry) but alas had to settle for plain cinnamon and a salted caramel option. There was nothing wrong with the quality of the cronut - it was flaky and fluffy in equal parts. I just don't think this food trend is for me. Still, the figures don't lie and these babies are literally walking out the door for Flour & Chocolate. I'm yet to sample their equally famous donuts (give a girl time!) but their mini bar cakes always go down a treat for a simple morning tea when the parents visit or you just want to eat a small slice of heaven without the guilt of a whole cake still staring back at you.

Bumbleebee Bakery at Eight Mile Plains is the exception to the rule. As a bakery, it does a mean trade on meat pies, sausage rolls and those nasty, artery blocking jam and cream buns. There are also some scrumptious cakes and macaroons available. The macaroons are $2.20 each or six for $13. They come in an assortment of flavours and the fillings are more buttery than creamy. There is also a small Chinese baked goods section with sweet breads filled with red bean paste, BBQ pork buns and coconut buns. It's sort of like a sampler selection from Breadtop. To top it off, the staff are always friendly and cheerful. Usually they're out the back whipping up fresh new cakes but will immediately bustle out as soon as you ring the bell. What more can one ask from a neighbourhood bakery? Bumblebee gets five out of five from me for being the first decent bakery on Brisbane's far South side.

Love this little bakery! It's about the size of a postage stamp out front, but spills into the mall…read morearea of its home in the Manly 7 Day Markets shopping centre. On the tables out front there's always a good selection of bun loaves and savoury bread loaves, scones and cakes, but that's not all... inside the counters, not only is the bread good, but it's a great place to buy a huge, stacked, salad roll or sandwich. In winter the pies are hard to resist too after a walk along the windy harbour.
