You will find something tol fulfill your every craving, from a passionfruit tart to lamb & rosemary pie to their candied walnuts. Thankfully their price tags prevent me from making decisions my metabolism will regret, though it means I haven't tried much of their offerings. On a special occasion, I called in to order a small flourless chocolate cake (34) - an easy choice when choosing for a chocolate lover. I was rather excited, as I'd never been able to justify going to Jocelyn's Provisions "just because." The flourless chocolate cake is a dense chocolate cake with chocolate nuts, and toffee and praline bits. Not having looked at the pictures too closely previously, we were all impressed with the sugar lattice on the cake. Although a bit of a strange combination to have paired chocolate with a sugar lattice (flavour-wise), it was a lovely touch to the cake. It says online that the small cake is for 6 people, but we managed to make eight pieces, with all of us being satisfied (and even having some difficulty finishing the cake after dinner at Siam Samrarn). Needless to say, that was one delicious rich and dense chocolate cake! Even though I tend to not be a fan of chocolate cakes - or just cakes in general - if you want a scrumptious and impressive looking cake, this is the place to go!

Breakfast, get in me NOW! I'm one of those people who spazzes out because they've got two things to…read morebuy from Coles for work and must get up early to get it otherwise someone else might've stolen it off the shelf before me.... Woah. Hold on, take a break. Food first, chill, lose some of the crazy. Ok, moving on. This Brumby's used to be accompanied by it's hardbaked counterpart across the walkway, however now it's the meal selling variety with those hard working (review writing while at work) desk jockeys buying last minute breakfasts or pre-emptive desk lunches. It's located on level A of the Myer Centre, a hop skip and jump down the escalators from the Queen St Mall, or a shuffle up from the chemist on the Elizabeth St side. Ambience *** If you've got time on your side, you could eat at the store in one of their couples tables to the side, of which there are roughly six. Otherwise, don't look for that wood and burgundy style decor you might have come to expect, look for lime green, white and burgundy plastic, shiny surfaces. It's pretty hard to miss. Somehow the back of the store always looks like its about to get stocked, or has just been stocked, with piles of boxes, baking tray holders, etc, visible from the front; it looks like a calamity waiting to happen, to be honest, but the staff don't seem to pay it any mind; maybe they just need a bit more interior fitout done? Service **** I rarely get to run here without finding a crowd of people hovering at the chin high (ok, I'm short!) counter, waiting to be served. The line goes quickly though, as they usually have four or more servers on at peak times. As this is a heavy traffic, high turnover food outlet, it pays to have the right money or not to have to pay EFTPOS. I always make sure I have $4 in my purse for a quiche Lorraine, but more on that later. The servers are always polite, I've ordered food for me, food for the office, catering for meetings any number of times. They do deliver if you're getting catering, however I find it's just as easy to jump downstairs myself, to pick it up. Sometimes I find the servers are a bit rushed, but I've always gotten a 'hello' and a smile. Food **** Expect the full range of Brumby's baked goods on offer here, plus wraps, sandwiches, toasted sandwiches, slices, frittatas, quiches, more and more - hell's bells if I know whether they're all made onsite or whether they come from another Brumby's bakery, though. I've opted to switch between Coles and Brumby's for staff birthday cakes to keep my office co-inhabitants on their toes, but I will always prefer to get to Brumby's if I can for them. They die for the lamingtons and banana bread, and I die for the quiche Lorraine. Seriously, I'd swear they've cut something illegal into them to make them that more-ish. Cheesy, oniony, bacony goodness in a little square; perfect for an express nom before going back to work. I prefer mine cold, but they are happy to heat up a quiche or frittata if you're eating and running. Additional notes I have noticed a coffee machine here, though I've no idea what it's like as I usually retreat to the safety of work as quickly as possible.

They were super friendly and let you enjoy the space and your company. They serve you water as soon as you are seated and then ask you what you'd like. I had the Lucy while my friend had the Coffee Ale. The sizes come in Pony, Mare, or Stallion! My friend loved the coffee ale. I'm not the biggest beer fan but the Lucy was light. We started to chit-chat with the bartenders and they showed us this chili vodka! He had me at "Chili..." My friend had the Bloody Mary and she kept raving how it was tomato soup for adults. She loved it! The bartender was great and nervous about creating a drink for me. We went with a pineapple chili vodka with a touch of mint. Yum! It needs some fine tuning but the foundation is set. We were having a great time and as if beer to vodka wasn't enough, we moved right along to tequila! Yes, some quality tequila and verdita. I'm a huge fan and they explained to us how quality tequila is for sipping. We didn't want to leave but the time had come. Thankfully, I know I'll be coming back very soon. Thanks for a great Introduction.

I once called in just to get a quiche which is ridiculous because that's probably the last thing this business is known for (it was amazing for your information), and walked out with 3 slices of cake, 3 Banoffe pies and 4 tarts. I took half of them home and the other half to Uni with me and before I could even explain to everyone what they were, they were gone. The Welsh Lady is a deceptive temptress who lures you in with her unassuming shop front, tucked away in Rosalie and STEALS YOUR WALLET AND YOUR WAISTLINE! Eventually returning both, one thinner, the other thicker (I'll let you guess which is which). Everything they bake here makes you want to quit life and die from a decadent, gluttonous overdose of sugary wonderment. Specializing in cakes to order they have everything you can imagine and more. Words can't do this place justice, so if you are wanting the perfect wedding or birthday cake, or simply just something sweet for any type of celebration The Welsh Lady should be your first port of call. P.S The Banoffe pies are out of this world, go now and get yourself one before they are deemed illegal.

Personally, I fall into the vanilla cake category but the Welsh Lady is the only cake shop that has the ability to make me question my allegiance to Team Vanilla. If you're a fan of chocolate cake, the muddier, richer, and more decadent the better, then the Welsh Lady is your holy grail. Her deep, dark mud cakes are so moist and dense that it's almost like she's mixed dark chocolate mousse into the batter. Most of my friends fall into Team Chocolate and I've become very used to being served a piece of chocolate birthday cake at parties and leaving it on the plate half finished. A couple of years ago at a dear friend's 21st I watched the cake be presented with a flourish. Chocolate again, I thought. I had to admit that it was a beautiful looking cake, covered in huge, elaborate chocolate curls and sprouting sparkly butterflies and stars on silver stems but I didn't expect my tastebuds to enjoy it as much as my eyes were. After one bite of the cake I knew there'd be no half-eaten leftovers on my plate this time. Through a mouthful of mud cake I demanded to know where my friend had gotten such a cake. 'MULSH NADY' she replied, her mouth was just as full as mine. 'Huh?'. She swallowed her chocolate-y mouthful and said 'Welsh Lady'. I nodded, swallowed, and went back for seconds.

I left it a little late to try to book my deal goodies in, but a short and friendly phone call later, I was assured a next-day pick-up would be absolutely fine. The girls at Camp Hill were such a delight to deal with, and I really wanted to try a little bit of everything in the front cabinet... and the bread racks. My order was all ready to go, and I had to struggle to choose just two breads from the shelves as part of the voucher. I ended up getting a spelt loaf and a pumpkin & blue vein loaf. You did not misread. Yum! I got them both in freezer bags, but if you're going to eat them fresh, Rock 'n' Roll put them in a paper bag instead (it's better for the bread). I got so excited about the breads, I almost forgot about the other parts of the order - a family-size lamb & rosemary pie, and a gluten free orange & almond cake. The cake is moist and full of flavour (I do admit to Cheesecake Regret when I saw the beautiful lime cheesecakes in the cabinet, despite not having that as an option with my voucher). The lamb & rosemary pie? Absolutely delicious. Big chunks of tender lamb in a creamy sauce. I'm not going to lie to you - I've had it for four of my six meals of the last two days, and I might cry when it's gone. Or I might just go buy another one... and one of those sweet potato & onion loaves, while I'm there.
