I highly recommend Donna. I am staying in Gold Beach and wanted to get my hair cut and colored...my hair is not easy...sorta curly in some parts...not so much in others...and takes dye so easily. It's easy for me to end up with a puppy eared haircut with Adams Family color. Donna did a great job on both cut and color. She truly listened to me...and did what I asked. I thank God for Donna. She has come to my rescue time and time again....from a bad DIY hair color to a bad hair cut. I have had difficulty finding a good hair stylist and have been to many from Southern California to Coos Bay Oregon. I have found no one better than Donna. She will give you exactly what you want. I have long hair and when I go to get it trimmed, she is very careful not to cut too much...she knows that keeping the length is very important to me. Im sorry to see this awful review by Crystal C, what is even more awful is that the review is completely false and over dramatic ! I was next in line to have my haircut that afternoon and was sitting in the styling chair when this took place !! The young (teenage) lady who had received the haircut and color seemed pleased with it and the haircut was done precisely how she had described ! The girl seemed happy and walked out just fine, that is when her older sister came rushing in the door , cursing and accusing Donna of giving her sister a bad cut/color !! 1. Do you think it is possible the teenage girl did not communicate thoroughly with the stylist ? 2. Is it plausible that after having nearly 1ft. of hair cut off that she may have been a bit shocked at her new look ? The new look in which she had asked for? After all young women can be a bit dramatic when it comes to their hair 3. Charging in the door to a salon , swearing and putting the stylist down would evoke defense from anyone ! I think Donna handled the situation very professionally! And it was only when Crystal threatened not to pay the nearly $70 bill , that Donna said she had the right to call the police! NOT THAT SHE WAS CALLING THE POLICE! I am sorry but everyone has received a haircut or color that they just weren't satisfied with. Just because a hairstyle looks good on a model in a magazine, doesn't mean it will look the same on you. This was a fine cut and color and this review by Crystal is an obviously biased slight at Donna and is unfair ! The only person left in tears was Donna, she felt awful that the girl was unsatisfied ! I have been having my haircut by Donna since I moved to Gold Beach in 1999. She is the only stylist in town I go to and she stands by her work and so do I. We were stuck in Gold Beach for the day waiting for our car to be repaired when my son decided he wanted to get a haircut. Donna's got us right in and entertained us with lots of local tales. Sweet person but more a barber for men, not a stylist per say, does not listen and has a standard method that is automatic and lacks nuance or form for female. Despite my requests she proceeded to do her fast and uninspired cut that I have to grow out and then go to another stylist to repair and fit correctly ,, again!!! read more

My sister went in to Donna to get her hair dyed and cut. She asked for a shoulder length bob and ended up with hair that hit just above her chin. The cut appears to be uneven and there seem to be chunks of hair that weren't cut the same level as the rest. She talked my sister into a reverse frost (which wasn't explained properly and my sis expected a different result). The color is a weird grey color and ages my sister several years. Just like the cut the color is not even. There are places where the frost covers only an inch or two of the hair. My sister left in tears. When I told Donna my sister did not like it she was very rude about. she acted like she didn't care someone was dissatisfied and said it was the best dye job she's seen....if THAT was the best she's ever done, I would hate to be her other customers. I told her we should not have to pay for such a bad outcome (since it was NOT what was asked for and was done poorly). She threatened to call the cops and have us arrested for theft of services. In her defense, she offered to fix it for free but first how can you fix something when you don't see what you did wrong or how messed up it was, and second why would we want the person who messed up in the first place (and wont admit it) to touch it again? read more
