Checked this diner out, this past Sunday, well in town visiting my late adopted grandma Ann, daughter in law. She suggested we stop there as the food was excellent. The atmosphere and vive were your retro, back in time that diners bring. The service was fast, and food was excellent. Their was even metal artwork on the wall, red & white checkered pattern, and menu items, had the 60s theme. Highly recommend this local business, if your looking for some place different, and I look forward next time, I'm in town getting one of their milkshakes. I ventured out to Hermitage, PA for another one of my food road trips. I've known Donna for well over 17 years, but I never ordered a dish at her little pride and joy before. I paid a visit to enjoy one of her classic Donna Burgers. The Avocado turned the patty sinful with the creamy filling it boasted, and the chips were about as crispy as they come. The ambience acts as a functioning time machine, except the prices were stuck in present day. I was disappointed after receiving such great service, because I had to return to reality immediately. I'll be back after I share my ideas with Doc so we can finally pay 1950s prices for real. The bathroom was freezing. read more

I stopped here for lunch after dress shopping at The Winner. From the outside, this place looks so retro! When you step inside, it's like stepping into the 50's (I'm totally guessing here because I wasn't born then! Lol) we were greeted and seated right away. There were a few people in the restaurant but not many. Their menu is extensive- they have something for everyone.. it is diner type food. They all had unique names for the meals. I decided on the BLT and it came with housemade chips with their signature ranch dust. The table next to me ordered extra ranch dust and I should have done the same! Those chips were so good!! My BLT was pretty standard but it hit the spot. If I was in the area again, I would most definitely stop in again! read more

50s diner's, they are few and far between in my travels. Driving around in Sharon PA, Dad, Mom, and I stumbled upon Donna's diner. It's in full 50's style. Aluminum shining through on a dreary day. Rock and roll on the juke. Like a time machine, with amazing food. The menu is ridiculous. Ridiculous. Let me say it one more time for the people in the back; ridiculous. They have so much food!! Burgers, sandwiches, salads, macaroni and cheese, and that's just the lunch menu. The breakfast menu was completely separate, and equally as large. Dad and I both got burgers, I had Donna's burger, cheddar cheese, avocado, onions, and lettuce. The burger was perfect. It also came with a side of chips, that had ranch dust on them. They were amazing. Anytime you take Mom anywhere, she gets mac & cheese. She ordered the Elmer Fudd, and loved it. It was cheddar cheese with bacon, does it get any better than that? Service was quick, they weren't too busy for lunch rush. Our server was nice, unfortunately she didn't mention her name. I'd be back if it wasn't over an hour drive! We love Donnas! It is located on the river which is beautiful! It is just like taking a step back into the 50s from the moment you walk in! Everyone is very friendly. The food is fast and delicious! My wife and I joined another couple here for a random Friday night visit. We had heard great things about the diner and decided to give their milkshakes a try. The inside is a classic diner taking you right back to the 70s. The milkshake were served in an old fashioned glass and we were given the metal container of leftover milkshake with our order as well. My wife and I split a dark chocolate turtle and I had an additional order of a side of fries. The milkshake was fantastic! Really rich and creamy and very aesthetic to look at. Fries were solid as well and satisfied my savory side. Overall a very cool trip. Would definitely go back just to try more milkshakes! read more

My daughter and I stood there for 15 minutes waiting to be seated. We were excited about the place and wanted to get their cute mugs to bring home. The waitress avoided eye contact with us and the cooks looked through the serving window and laughed that we were still there. We drove to Sharon for a double date evening with our friends. Our first stop was Donna's Diner. I came across an article about this local diner on the website "Only in your State" and it was enough to convince me that we had to make a trip strictly for milkshakes! When we arrived the place was practically empty. We asked if we could sit outside and they accommodated us by seating us by the river running through the town. It was a nice warm evening but with the shade of the umbrella it was a perfect temperature. My husband and I shared the Dark Turtle Milkshake - chocolate ice cream with chocolate syrup, chopped pecans and caramel (I ordered salted caramel instead of regular). When the milkshake came out we were pleased that we decided to share based on its size. Then the next time the waitress came out, she had all of our leftover shakes in 3 metal cups that they were made in that did not fit in the glass! We pretty much got 2 1/2 milkshakes for the price of one!! Now the prices are higher but they were definitely worth it! They were creamy, delicious, and full of flavor and the items that were listed on the menu. One of our friends had the smores and the marshmellow shined through. Our other friend had a create your own with vanilla ice cream, reeses cups, and graham cracker. His was my favorite! Loaded with reeses! That will be my next shake when we return. My husband had an order of fries that looked really nice and crisp. This was a winner and will be worth another trip, or added to our normal route when we head up north some other weekend. read more

Burgers are really overrated. The three times we have been there it's never been anything to write home about. The service the last two times was subpar, but the overall atmosphere was nice with the nice diner feel. Milkshakes weren't as good as advertised, but were the strong suites of the meals. This is a place I really wanted to like more, but each time just hasn't been that good. It was bad, but I would only recommend for the nostalgic feel, not the food. read more

Food was ok. Not great. 14.99 for the heartbreak burger and I asked for onion rings for a $2 upcharge. I got 5 from the freezer rings. .40 cents an onion ring. The grilled cheese buns on the burger were just white bread and government cheese. For $15 I expected something better.The same thing I could have got anywhere else for less money. My wife got the chicken tenders with fries and got about 10 fries and 3 premade tenders. I think hers was about $12. This place is absolutely a rip off. Go to the Sharon hot dog shop down the street. Great atmosphere and decor, and outstanding shakes, though if I'd spent the $1000+ on those drink mixers, I would not be happy with my employees jamming spoons in them while running, running the aerators up against the mixing tins, and twisting the tins around while the mixer is running, often in the opposite direction that the spindle is turning. Thank god they're not using a vintage Hamilton Beach to trash it! Just set the shake on the cup holder and let it run. Food is "eh". Burgers tasted good but were both underdone and mine was almost cold, fries where just battered ones out of the freezer, fountain soda was gross and I wouldn't have guessed it was a Coke product. Service was horrible. Waitresses seemed more interested in talking to each other than working, and our's never came back to check on us after delivering our food. Heard one waitress use the word "fuck" when speaking to the busboy about another workers bread cutting skills. Jeepers creepers! Finding a place like this is exactly why Yelp rules. We never would have found Donna's Diner since it's about 10 minutes off I-80 but it was worth every second of extra drive time. Burgers were great (almost overshadowed by the buns they were on). My wife ordered avocado for hers and received an entire half. Where do you see that? And then there was my chocolate shake. Plain chocolate is what I ordered. Delicious artwork is what I received. "What is with the blue swirls?" I asked. "Chaos" was our waitress's response (she soon thereafter pulled back the curtain and said it was marshmallow fluff). And our waitress. If you are fortunate enough to have Amanda D walk up to your table do not be put off by her seemingly abrupt personality. Seconds later she was helpful, friendly, witty, and gave me extra tatertots. Amanda also gave us some excellent info on the Winner family (diner owners and then some). Plus she knows that mayo belongs on a burger. Our waitress was less than cordial but the milk shakes and the burgers were phenomenal. We were in town looking for a new Harley-Davidson.

I came in today for some breakfast. I stood there for few minutes and waited to be greeted by the employees at the bar and waitresses - nothing!!! So I look around and decide to go sit myself - so I sat on the front bar. Sat there again for 2-3 mins still no greetings so I got up and grab a regular menu to start looking to order Now I'm ready to get my food TO GO instead! As I looked at the menu and look around to see if I can at least get an Eye Contact. NOTHING!!! 2 mins now went by group of older people came in BAM - they got greeted and was even had small talked. I've had my eye on Donna's Diner for awhile now but it is a half hour drive from Poland so if we do venture up to the Sharon area we usually go a bit farther to Tiffany's. We ended up in the area two weeks in a row so this weekend we went to Donna's. Very cute 50's style diner like you would see on the East Coast. We were given both breakfast and lunch menus and it was a tough choice which one to pick from. We ended up with breakfast that was very good. I had a pierogi omelette that was very good - I had it with a side of sausage but if I ordered again I think I would get bacon instead. My husband got a bacon, tomato cheddar omelette that looked really good too. Homefries were great - much better than what usually passes for homefries in this area. The table next to us got burgers that also looked tasty - will have to come back for lunch sometime soon. I'm surprised to see complaints about service, we were greeted promptly, had coffee within minutes and food within a reasonable time. The only glitch was she gave us the wrong check (which we didn't realize) but came back and corrected it once she realized her mistake. read more

I've eaten at Donna's Diners several times. It's located in downtown Sharon and presents itself as a light, cool and retro restaurant from the building itself, the colors, the lettering, to the décor. The menu is straight-forward American food with some nice healthy choices. I have been pleased with the taste, presentation and freshness of the food and yes, their shakes are that good. The service was fine and staff was knowledgeable about the food, and the different choices of alternatives since I'm not a big carb eater. Its prices are reasonable and it's a fun place to take the family and kids- like tradition. I will eat more often here - you should give it a try. read more

We were heading to Kraynaks and heard about this diner and decided to try it out. We were VERY disappointed. I had the grilled ham and cheese sandwich and there was more bread than hame or cheese. The sweet potato fries were ok. Mom had a chicken sandwich and fries. Her fries were horrible! They tasted like they were reheated several times. Blabbing about he said she said stuff and complaining about co workers behind their back was wayyyyy too much and made me and my guests feel way too uncomfortable...not to mention the burgers are slapped together and they fall apart. After being on the road alone for several hours & finding out my hotel room was not ready, I decided to pass the time at a local restaurant. It's Sunday & apparently 50 percent of the restaurants are closed so my options were limited. Despite the bad reviews I decided to check this place out because the photos weren't too bad. I expected a busy place but it was maybe at 30 percent capacity (bad sign). I waited to be greeted but was ignored for several minutes. Servers walking by refused eye contact. Finally I was asked in a curt, rude tone if I wanted a seat at the bar but I was really aching from a long drive & wanted a table. She acted so put out & mad. They had so many tables open so not sure why. At that point I knew it would not be an enjoyable experience so I turned & left. I actually really enjoy coming to these small town diners & leaving a big tip because I know how hard it can be but based on the many bad reviews, the staff has an attitude problem & need to learn common decency. First time here in many years. Should be 4.5 stars instead of 4. Don't know how to do .5. Lol Breakfast. Mushroom Swiss omelette. Cooked perfectly. Fresh mushrooms grilled perfectly. I added onions. Perfect size onions cooked perfectly. Sausage patties were good. Not the worst and not the best but I would order again. Cooked just right. Home fries had traces of green peppers cooked in. Home fries were excellent. Weakest link would be the toast. Wasn't toasted well and was cold but I overlooked this due to the quality of the rest of the meal. Coffee... Hot and fresh! Best part is that it's also O'Neil's coffee which is a local coffee that is very good. Was not watered down. Just right. Sounds like 5 stars. Debatable but giving 4.5 is very good coming from me. The service... Excellent. Katelyn was the waitress and she was the ideal employee. She kept everything moving smoothly. Donna Winner should really appreciate this young girl. She was wiping and cleaning the entire time I was there. Cleaning the tiniest little nooks everywhere. 5 stars. CLEANLINESS... this diner was absolutely spotless. It's a way's away from the closest major highway... but it was a great break away from the seemingly never-ending i-80. There wasn't any available off-street parking, but there was a no-fee public parking lot we were able to utilize. I enjoyed the all-day breakfast menu while my sister and husband enjoyed items off the lunch menu. Excuse my lack of their fancy terms... I ordered the chocolate chip pancakes with ham and a side of home fries. The chocolate chip pancakes were served with chocolate sauce and whipped cream- YUM! However, the ham and potatoes left SO much more to be desired. My H ordered a triple decker BLT and he was underwhelmed. My sister ordered the soup & salad combo (don't remember which), but she was satisfied. My 9 month old daughter was especially rambunctious after being on the road for 10 hours, so I'm glad the waitress seated us in the corner. My daughter made all the noise she wanted (to the dismay of my H and I who were trying to keep her noise to a minimum), but the all the waitresses were kind and understanding.
