Thanks to Bruce Aleo's knowledge, decades of hands on experience, wise and creative design ideas, Done Right Landscape gave curb appeal in a huge way to a house going on the market. After renovation contractors left a sea of shattered glass all over the back yard from construction debris, Done Right Landscape cleaned it up! During my walkthrough with Bruce Aleo after the glass cleanup, he spotted 3 minuscule pieces of glass, and picked them up by hand. He is a perfectionist and he goes above and beyond to make sure that every aspect of the work done by his team is done to his high standards. His attention to detail is a marvel and his work ethic ( which extends to his team) is unmatched. He suggested putting in a new stone path to the front door, and his team removed the old, cracked asphalt. The new, beautiful stone path and curved planting beds in the front of the house turned a nice house into a fairytale home that has style and elegance. There had been a large pipe sticking out of the ground on the property that used to support a satellite dish. Done Right cut it off beneath the ground and pounded down its rough edges before covering it over with turf. Looking now, I can't even tell where that pipe had been. They did not charge me anything to remove that pipe. They also put extra soil in some uneven areas in the backyard, and tamped it down. Oh, and they did such a great job limbing up the trees in the yard to bring more light and space to the property. Bruce pointed out some branches that were rubbing against the roof, and those branches were promptly removed. There was an old galvanized fence leading to the back yard and I really didn't know what to do with it. Bruce suggested painting it black and the difference is amazing-- it looks like a new fence! The yard looks so much better! The name of the company-- Done Right Landscape--suits perfectly, because they will do the job right the first time. They are absolutely dependable. I needed this work done quickly, and from start to finish, Done Right landscaping had everything done in 4 days! Making out a check to another contractor in the past left me with a sick feeling, because they did not do as they promised. It was the opposite with Done Right Landscape! They did as promised --and then some! The check I made out to Done Right Landscape was the easiest check to write-- and I am so grateful for the work they've done to help me get the home ready to sell. After meeting with a few contractors in the Medford, MA area we found Done Right Landscape & Construction. The owner, Bruce Aleo came out and provided a "vision" for our front yard that we wanted to use as a new and safe area for our new puppy; to train her, let her play and exercise and for us to enjoy. They removed an irrigation system zone as requested and installed a beautiful new artificial turf lawn, a Nico Lock Patio and a beautiful stone border that included secured cobblestone accents. The quality of work, professionalism, and responsiveness is significantly better than your average landscaping company. They are far from average. It was expensive when compared to other estimates, but was more aligned with exactly what we wanted for our home. Wow, I can't say enough good things about Bruce Aleo and his company, Done Right Landscape. I loathe yard work, and my kids are now grown and no longer around to help with the outside upkeep, so my yard has been pretty much neglected over the last few years. Plus, the heavy snows over the past couple of winters, and marauding ravenous deer, and tree disease have all taken their toll. Getting my property back into shape was a daunting proposition. Through Angie's List I contacted several highly rated landscaping firms, had them look at my property, and entertained bids. They all commented that this was a huge multi-day job, and one company even refused to bid. Bruce came out twice to diligently go over all the details before finalizing his bid, which was in the ballpark with the others I had received. I chose Bruce's company, and a start date was set. Sure enough, Bruce and his crew of six workers showed up as scheduled and wasted no time "digging in". Dead bushes were removed, dozens of arborvitae trees were trimmed, extensive undergrowth was cleared out, a tall diseased blue spruce was pulled out roots and all (leaving no stump), and a dilapidated shed was demolished and carted away, all within the time span that we had agreed to. But Bruce then went above and beyond the work that I had expected -- edging all the sidewalks, removing invading growth from the cracks in my driveway and sidewalks, and painstakingly extracting layers of thatch that had built up in my lawn. All cuttings and yard waste were hauled away, sidewalks were blown clean, and the place was left immaculate. And the final cost was exactly what we had agreed upon at the outset. One of my kids, who visited the following weekend, was astounded at the "makeover". I'm a totally satisfied customer. I have plans for additional landscaping in the next year or two, and I'll definitely go with Bruce and Done Right Landscape again. read more

After making the initial call, we set up a time for Bruce to swing by for an estimate. Bruce was on time and very professional. He had all the right equipment and was able to measure and assess the work to be done while he was there. He knew what he was talking about and gave us various options to achieve our desired result. He then sent us an estimate via email in a couple days. That was great because that gave us a written estimate and the privacy to talk about it - unlike when they give you an estimate right away and expect a prompt decision. Let me start by saying that every company should conduct business they way Bruce Aleo does; there would be many many happy customers if they did. I found Done Right Landscape on the Better Business Bureau website and was completely amazed at the outstanding reviews and amazing pictures of Bruce's work. Boy, was it difficult to find someone to do a spring cleanup in May. But, Bruce responded quickly. Received an email the day after I contacted him and came by that day (Sunday) to see what needed to be done and give me a quote. Thought it would take a week or so for work to begin but he and his crew showed up the next day! My backyard needed so much more that a spring cleanup. Nothing had been done out there for a year. Bruce and his team took out of every weed and leaf which was quite a task as I have garden space around the whole perimeter of the back yard - as well as edge the whole area and mow the lawn. With the black mulch the back yard has gone from ugly overgrowth to a beautiful showcase. As a bonus they also cleaned up my front yard and along the side of the house. I asked Bruce if anything could be done with my old arborvitaes which were hanging and damaged by the winter. I can't believe how great they look after they trimmed and tied them up. Bruce Aleo's team cleaned out a lot of overgrown thickets and brush from my large rock garden and along the side of my house. Due to rain delays the yard had grown back and had to be re cleaned at no additional charge They re contoured my yard to take care of a drainage problem. Four ornamental trees were trimmed. New mulch beds were power edged around the trees Yards and yards of mulch and sod were trucked in. An old vegetable garden with railroad ties was taken out. It was replaced with contoured washed stone to curb a drainage problem. A small retaining wall was replaced by the front steps where the soil was eroding every time it rained. Washed stone was also put around the front of the house for drainage. A new sod front lawn was installed. The old pink patio brick was taken out and repurposed as a storage place behind my shed. A new larger 21 x 21 nic loc patio was installed with a beautiful mulch boarder. Bruce and his team were very professional. They worked tirelessly and made sure my yard was cleaned up when they left. They hauled away all the derbies. Bruce went out of his way to make sure that I was very satisfied with the end result of his landscape design. read more

The owner was present and available during most of the work and was able to address all our concerns, often making suggestions and giving us clear examples to help us make decisions. My yard was overgrown for over three years. Trees from the woods had established roots across my property and the growth was approximately 4 feet of weeds, trees, vines, and just about everything you can imagine. Bruce and his crew did an amazing job of removing all of the growth and pulled out the trees by their roots. They pulled, cut, trimmed and weeded the entire lot. They shaped the shrubbery that had been over grown and trimmed bushes into aesthetically professional works of art. They went beyond the contract and did an amazing job.
