I recently went to Dona's Tailoring to have a pair of jeans hemmed. Although she was very pleasant and quick to process the request, I did not receive the service she planned to process. At the time the order was placed it was planned for an original hem, as this lengthens the time usage of the jeans. When I went to pick up my jeans I was greeted with an apology that she made a mistake and did an alternative hem instead despite or earlier discussion and her making a specific note on the order slip. Although she did not charge and was genuinely apologetic, I am now left with a pair of jeans that can't be fixed. I personally would not trust her with any of my clothing in the future as a result. read more

Donna does a fantastic job on everything she works on. It's quality work with a quick turnaround. I've had a variety of clothing altered, such as: pants, jeans, a trenchcoat, dresses, and even snowboard pants. She even does same day if you absolutely need it. I'm short -- 5 feet. I brought my prom dress to have it hemmed and two seams in the back to be restitched (it was used and two seams were torn) and am very happy with the results! My dress was a little more complicated than most for hemming because it has a two layer skirt, a very sheer outer layer and the actual fabric underneath. The total came to $55, which I thought was reasonable for the quality work that Dona did. It was also done very fast- she assured me that it would be 1 week at the most since I brought mine earlier than the other girls and wanted to have it done before the rush. I think it was 6 days? Dona is terrific, before my Mom passed she always would bring in her clothes for tailoring and she was never disappointed. I too have always gone to Dona when I need tailoring and so have my daughters, she is always so nice and welcoming, you tell her when you need it and its done. Dona has done beautiful work for me and my family over the years! I can tell you this....she has definitely saved me in a pinch on numerous occasions! Today she has once again!! I took a very expensive dress to be hemmed. Very unhappy with the workmanship. The lining is uneven and is longer in the front then the dress, and overall the hem looks uneven. read more

Dona is very efficient and does EXCELLENT work! She saved my sanity recently, when I was in a panic because my wedding dress was too big two days before the big day. I gave her my bridesmaids dresses and my wedding dress. End result was that I had to buy new dresses 8 weeks prior to my big day because one of them was ruined and didn't even fit my bridesmaid (it did fit prior to the alterations). Also the stitching on my bodice was coming loose days after I got it back from her as well as the tulle hem being cut completely uneven with tulle hanging off in uneven chunks. When I called to get some of the money refunded to me I was told that I was not charged for the work on the bridesmaids dresses or the bodice and it was implied that she did me a favor. After using three different tailors in the area, I have finally found someone who does excellent work. I most often need the waist taken in on any clothing item I purchase and quite often need pants hemmed. The work is always exactly as Dona measures it, and is neatly finished as well. The other tailors left me with uneven seams, finished work considerably bigger or smaller than originally measured, or created problems in other areas of a clothing item that resulted from the work the tailor had done. Dona is very pleasant and professional. I have referred others to Dona and they have been very pleased with her work. I won't go to any other tailor in the area. Dona is the best. read more
