So, the other day I got a speeding ticket.... My personal opinion is that the State uses the I-5 corridor as their own personal ATM machine and that the speeding enforcement is less about protecting the traveling public than it is about making money. But I digress, I'll get off my soapbox and get to the point. I did a little internet research and decided that I'd give Lisa Donaldson a call. She had great reviews and seemed like she'd get the job done with a minimal amount of fuss or headache. Personally, I've got better things to do than worry about this ticket - that was what I was paying Lisa to do. In short, I wasn't disappointed with my decision. I filled out a short form explaining the circumstances of the ticket, emailed her office a copy of the ticket, and sent my copy in to the state, disputing the ticket. I got a short email back from Lisa's office explaining what would happen next (basically that they'd handle it) and after that I just forgot about it. Now, there are no guarantees when you're dealing with the legal system but I was hopeful that Lisa would be able to get my ticket dismissed. I'm no stranger to traffic tickets in this town; Seattle drivers are slow and inattentive, so you're going to catch a few cops' eyes if you're moving through traffic anywhere close to the speed limit.
