Jack's drive-in, founded in 1961 in the small town of Spruce Grove by Larry Campbell and Jack…read moreClarke, is just a short drive west of Edmonton. It was originally a spot opened to prepare and serve ice cream and burgers to the locals and visiting folks. Throughout the years since the restaurant has been opened, it underwent many owners and renovations!! The restaurant is opened year round, but it is the perfect spot to go to during the summer month - on a nice summer day, my wife and I have gone there to eat and enjoy foods and nice weather. The restaurant has seating inside as well as outside, and of course the drive-thru. For the menu, you can except to find drive-in foods, such as burgers, hot dogs, delicious fries, fountain soda pops, ice cream and milkshakes. Jack's also serves breakfast!!! My favorite meal to eat there is either a cheeseburger or the Jack's Buffalo burger (buffalo pattie, BBQ sauce, Swiss cheese, tomato, lettuce, fried onions, bacon and mayo), a Pepsi, share a corn fritter with my wife and if I have space, a soft chocolate ice cream. If you don't feel like eating a burger, there are other options: hot dog, perogies, fish & chips, chicken fingers... just to name a few. Opened 7 days a week to serve you good foods!!

When the manager is hands on, it makes a big difference in the atmosphere of a restaurant, it''s smooth service and food quality. We love the nostalgic decor and music too. Then my car died, in a bit of an intrusive spot a bit shot of the parking stall I was aiming for. Two staff members at this Harvey's, who had just finished a shift and closed up, immediately came to my aid, helped push my vehicle into a stall, and even handed me a bag with some apple pies in it. This pretty much restored my faith in humanity at a time when I was questioning it. Thanks for everything.

I saw two tables where people sat and left and no clean up crew. No ones wiping down door handles or tables or surface areas including the many transaction in between. In fact it made me wonder where I sat down if they were wiped down. Because of this I will no longer eat at this facility. I felt they were Not taking Covid seriously enough for me. The women's bathroom was clean but the soap dispenser was disgusting. Tim Hortons at least places a mat on their tables and when the patron leaves they flip that mat to say needs sanitation. Pretty simple to me. More wiping on all services areas especially where people are coming in and out and the transaction machine. Pet Smart is really smart about they're pads. Disappointed by far.

Boardwalk Burgers is worth checking out…read more I found it's location to be very convenient, but somewhat hidden. Unless I have a reason to go to a hotel in the same city where I already have a house, I will never have a reason to drive by and see it. The building is clean and modern and looks like just about any other fast food burger joint should look. The biggest drawback is the lack of a drive-thru so getting takeout is going to take an extra step or two. The burgers themselves are pretty good. They ought to be since they cost $7+ per burger. While this is cheap compared to a restaurant, it's twice as much as your typical burger joint. Are the burgers better than what you would get at McDonalds, Wendy's, or A&W? Oh, definitely. Are they *twice* as good in order to justify twice the cost? I'm not entirely sure of that. They have a number of unique offerings (including the Hawaiian burger or the chipotle burger) and they have a unique bun that reminds me of a hot-cross bun. The spicy chicken burger was decent and so were the milkshakes (including the bizarre peanut butter milkshake). The fires were a little expensive, but they had quite a number of options to spice them up - including poutine. I had the regular fries and they were unsalted and bland - kind of like KFC fries. I recommend going a few times to explore the menu. I'm sure you'll find that they rank on the higher end of burger spectrum.

One of the best places to go in Spruce Grove if you're not into overly crowded bars (cough cough…read moreBrew House cough cough). The food is mediocre but luckily the service makes up for it. Drinks are reasonably priced for the most part. Every weekend it's busy with loud music and people. The good part is that it's not deafening like most places. They cater to the older crowd (mid 20s - 40s) which is amazing in my books. Amazing job Beer Hunter. Just get more parking and I'll be 100% happy!

The past experiences have all been fantastic and with a standard wait time for a large group. This evening was a completely different story. I am not sure the young woman's name, but I was with the group at the back of the restaurant. I got my ice tea with no ice in a timely manner; however another customer had to ask twice for his root beer, which in the end after an hour, I went up to the Bar and grabbed. As well, another customer had to ask twice for his beer that he ordered and when it didn't come out, he too had to go up to the bar to receive his beer. During this time, several other customers have arrived and been helped with drink orders and food orders being taken. My food order was taken shortly after 6pm, and at 720pm the waitress was told to come deal with our table as we were still waiting...... that was when we were informed, she hadn't put our orders in as the "page" was missed. I told her to cancel my order and that I wasn't paying for my drink at this point, and to bring the manager over. The manager was highly unprofessional and arrogant. I was pointing out that we had people order drinks twice and still not received them until we went up ourselves to get them. That is when the manager came back and said it's due to the fact that the large group was allowed here tonight, as the policy is to not allow large groups on Wing night. Which I find funny as I have been to three other event nights with this group on wing nights, one earlier this year. He then proceeded to laugh at myself when I said I was a server and was informed by him that he feels sorry for anyone who deals with my energy in person. Your server never once came to check on my table, we had to grab her each time. She was more focused on the larger tables around us, as they all were getting refills of their drinks, their food in a timely manner and their bills. I can understand large groups are harder on the staff, but when people who came in after yourself are getting drinks, and food..... when you ordered before them, and then you have to have someone else not from your table ask the waitress to do her job and take care of our table as others are noticing we are all just sitting there. That is horrible service and not only will I be sending this email, but I will be copying it and posting it on google and yelp, as well as Facebook. Not sure what happened, as like I stated before, the past times I have been there with this large group, everyone has been handled in a timely manner, but to have a full table forgotten and then the waitress to say she forgot to put the food orders in, as she "missed" the page but it took over an hour for her to even stop at the table plus she had to be asked to check on us by other customers, that's not right.

I appreciate that they have some decent vegetarian options and went for the Southwest Bowl (corn, feta, pico de gallo, black beans, mole, chipotle, avocado, coconut rice, crispy tortilla) with tofu in place of chicken. It was good, but next time I might ask for the pico on the side because it was distractingly onion-y for my liking. Lots of tasty sounding cocktails, but I opted for a NA passion fruit soda that caught my eye. Just the right amount of sweetness for me. Our server was friendly and attentive. We went to Browns Socialhouse in Spruce Grove for a special birthday celebration. We all ordered drinks including a bottle of wine, and we of course ordered entrees as well. We had an amazing time enjoying our meals, drinks, etc. and our server was AMAZING! This brings us to the finale, where a "Happy Birthday" dessert was brought to our table with sparklers, and we thought, "Wow! That is so nice!" However, Browns charged us full price for this dessert we never ordered. I'd actually made a special dessert to have later, so this was not necessary, especially since we didn't order it. I think if you're going to surprise your patron(s), they shouldn't be charged for said surprise. That is what took two stars off of this review because with the cost of everything nowadays, you shouldn't be allowed to do this. #poortaste
