Definitely my new favorite go-to taco place near Camarillo! Don Taco is an awesome food truck that's technically in Somis and one of the few places that serves delicious late-night Mexican food (past 8 pm in the sleepy town of Camarillo, haha). The service was fast and friendly and prices were reasonable for a street taco (in this economy). There is a table and some stools next to the truck, but I typically take it to go. I was happy to see that they had many of the staple meats here like asada, pastor, pollo, chorizo, carnitas, and cabeza, and was even more surprised that they had birria and tripas! However, I wish they had lengua which is my absolute favorite! We ordered the asada, pastor, carnitas, and birria street tacos and they were all so delicious. The meats were perfectly cooked and seasoned so well. We also ordered the shrimp and asada taco and WOW that one was amazing. The flavors of this taco melded so well together and there was even an avocado slice! I love a good verde sauce and Don Taco's is up there. I've been on a quest and I'm so happy I found a great spot to fulfill my taco needs. Some of my favorite taco spots are in LA and Don Taco is definitely comparable. I've driven past this taco truck so many times and there's always a line. Finally, I put my foot down and tried this taco truck and boy am I glad I did. We ordered Birria mulitas and pastor and tripa tacos. The mulitas had a nice crunch and the meat had a good flavor. We tried both salsas. The red is like a habanero type sauce so it's got a kick. The green salsa is absolutely delicious and not too spicy. We really enjoyed the al pastor tacos, they had great flavor. Everything was really fresh and well worth every penny. We've finally found our spot...and it's not too far from our place. The truck is located next to a Nursery on the corner of Lewis and LA Avenue. Was hard finding a Mexican restaurant open late on a Sunday evening and luckily we stumbled upon this food truck! The guys were super friendly and made our order within 10 minutes or so. We knew it would be good when we noticed cars pulling off the side of the road while we waited for our food. There is a table set up right outside but seating is limited so taking it to go would be your best option. We ordered the Carne Asada and Pastor Burritos and topped it off with a Birria Mulita. The Carne Asada and Pastor was cooked to perfection! So many times I've been to places and the Carne Asada seems to never have any flavor and the Pastor is always too runny with too much cinnamon. But this truck definitely puts flavor to another level! Will definitely be back and work through their menu! Next up to try is their huaraches! Great job guys! read more

Awesome street tacos! I might be addicted and given how close I live, in trouble lol. Our first trip to Don Taco! We ordered 6 street tacos (3 beef and 3 chicken). Perfect flavor and the green salsa took it to the next level. Red salsa was super hot, but also delish. Can't wait to return and explore the menu. Burritos looked sooo good. OMG! I cannot begin to describe how wonderful my experience was upon arrival. The truck itself had such a vibrant atmosphere that was also very hospitable. You don't see much of that in food trucks anymore! The service was outstanding and I didn't feel like a costumer, I felt like a member of the family. This food truck is always great. They are also one of the only Mexican places to grab food after 8pm in Camarillo. The California burrito and tacos are our go to. Make sure to try both salsas. The hot one is hot but the flavor is to die for! Special hint...you can call your order in a head of time so you don't have to wait. This truck can get pretty busy! Nestled near the corner of the 118 and the 34 in Somis, this ever-busy taco truck provides quality authentic Mexican fare. All of the staple foods including the Molita which is a must try for those unfamiliar and is essentially the equivalent to a Mexican hamburger with tortillas and taco goodness at heart. The quality and the variety of the meats truly makes this one of the most authentic taco trucks I have had the pleasure of trying. Definitely a newfound favorite. read more

First a little housekeeping. This place is at the intersection of the 118 and the 34 in Somis. I've tried to correct it 4 times already. I'm afraid that evil robots have taken over at Yelp HQ and there's no hope that corrections will ever be made. Absolutely awesome. I stopped on a whim hoping that they knew what they were doing and I was oh so delightfully satisfied. The al pastor was crispy and deliciously complex. The carne asada was smokey and wonderfully beefy. The service was friendly. The salsas were delicious. They had a table out for customers but there were so many of us that I opted for the car. I happily gobbled up my tacos and then cursed myself for not having more money in my pocket. If I'm heading out to Oxnard again I'm taking this route! read more

Not good. I ordered the California burrito for get this... $11.20. Half the burrito was just the tortilla folded over itself. Skimped me on salsa too, they put one in the bag and you have to ask for more which took 5 mins because no one came to the window. Bad service, bad food, outrageous prices. Don't go here. read more

I want more! Been to this truck plenty of times and it's always great, so consistent. Tacos, mulitas, burritos, the California burrito is my favorite. The meats are amazing. Chorizo, pastor, carnitas are my favorite. Tonight we have a 1 pastor taco & Mulita, and 1 carnitas taco & mulita. Christine got 3 chorizo tacos. Hands-down my favorite taco truck to go to in Ventura county I promise you will not be disappointed it's not really a downside but be prepared sometimes for a long line because they're starting to become more and more popular they're the nicest guys in the world and they make the best tacos and nachos are usually go with the Asada but their sauce is well-made and they have a pretty extensive menu as well as Horchata I'm very glad that they're close to my place and I don't have to drive to LA or Oxnard to find a good taco truck.... thanks guys!! read more

Located near the corner of Somis Road & 118/East Los Angeles Ave. outside the closed nursery. This is the best taco truck in the county! Oh, if only Hillary had won so we could have had these on every corner! Really good tacos and other things made with cheese and meat. Condiments out front are good and fresh. There are always cars parked in front and back, and it's located outside a nursery, so take care in pulling off the road and parking. They have lengua, tripas, buche, pollo, asada, carnitas, al pastor, chorizo. $2 tacos...You will wish you had doubled your order. Burritos and quesadillas too. There are servers in the dining room that will bring you ice water and sauces and otherwise take care of you, but because we didn't get drinks from the market cashier like we were supposed to or not, thankfully we brought cash to leave a tip on the table for the server because there was no receipt for the ice water or sauces we got from her to otherwise prompt a tip. I saw guys getting beers from the market refrigerators to go with their food, but I'm still not sure how it works to order other drinks, like a soda with ice. UPDATE - went back for early Sunday breakfast. My two tacos were good, but their breakfast burrito blew my socks off. Hub got the one with bacon and it's huge. I had room, so I finished it and can't wait to go back and get my own. The salsa and like red enchilada sauce brought to the table were good, but not needed as it seemed they added flavor ahead of time with some clear not heavy salsa or something. I hate breakfast burritos because of the soft squishy tasteless parts inside a hard tasteless tortilla, but this wasn't like that. Tortilla was soft and fresh and the inside was full of flavor even though it was just eggs and cheese by the time I got it. Hub had taken out all the bacon because it was how he likes it, not burnt, which is how I like it. When I get mine, I'll ask for the bacon on the side and deep fried, so it's dry and crisp :)

I figured we would get something that I could tolerate and it would be okay - generic dining. I did not expect to actually have something to write about. But I was wrong. The grilled chicken they serve with the Chaufa is very nicely seasoned. It is bits of breast meat, grilled with a little char and adds depth to the otherwise mild flavor of the rice dish. My husband had Chaufa with shrimp, which I didn't sample but he ate the entire meal without complaint. We ordered the pork belly bites to start. They were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I enjoyed this appetizer so much that I know I will order it again. If I have the chaufa again, I would definitely have it with the pork belly. I ordered the lemonade and was puckering in a good way. Honestly, it tasted more like limeade than lemon. I was happy it wasn't too sweet because I could really enjoy the refreshing citrus flavors. I would go there just for a lemonade. They serve it icy cold in mug style, mason jar glass. Our friend ordered the iced tea and when it arrived. I was pleasantly surprised by the look of the fresh fruit in the clear glass, frosted over from the cold and ice. So nice. He said the herbs and fruit were a good combination. The wife of the owner waited on us. She is understated, friendly and efficient. We didn't have much of a wait as it looked as though we might have just missed the breakfast/brunch rush. I was impressed with how quickly we received our food. If we hadn't just eaten there a couple days ago, I would have gone to Azafran for dinner tonight. I look forward to making it a favorite local place where I can introduce our visitors to a good neighborhood restaurant.
