DISGUSTING We went to Peppers for a Living Trust Seminar, and unfortunately, the condition of the restaurant was so bad that we left after about 20 minutes. I waited outside for my wife while she parked the car, and it was difficult to even stand there because of the stench coming from the fountain. The front door was patched with wood, and the outside of the building was extremely unkempt. That should have been our first warning not to go inside. Once inside, we were seated toward the back of the room. There was a large turnout for the seminar--probably 40+ people. We listened to the speaker for about 20 minutes before deciding we had enough. We did not eat or drink anything from this establishment. The restaurant appeared to be in serious disrepair and was not clean. Our table was extremely sticky. The overall condition of the place was so unpleasant that simply sitting inside made me feel like I needed to go home and take a shower. I've never felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant. And said said "yes, the kitchen is closed" he was obviously uncomfortable with the situation and apologized to us. This place is a hidden gem! We were staying at a nearby hotel and decided to give it a try for convenience. It had great reviews, but with only a handful of cars in the parking lot, I started to worry we'd made a mistake. Thankfully, I was completely wrong. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and friendly faces. No wait time at all. We started with the cheese dip appetizer, which was a hit. My husband and I took advantage of their 2-for-1 beer special--always a win. While it's not listed on the menu, they had plenty of kid-friendly options for the littles, which was a huge bonus. For our main course, my husband and I shared the chicken, shrimp, and steak fajitas for two--everything was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. My oldest daughter ordered the "Pick 2 for $12.99" and chose the shredded chicken tacos. They were so generously filled she could only finish one--and she's a taco fan! The littles had chicken tenders and a cheese quesadilla, both served with fries, and both devoured. The food was absolutely delicious across the board. Even the refried beans, which I usually skip, impressed my husband--they had the coveted "cheese pull." Price-wise, we were shocked--in the best way. We're from a small town in Georgia, and somehow, this place had better prices than home. 10/10 recommend if you're craving great Mexican cuisine at an even better price. Today I decided I wanted a chicken quesadilla and my friend and I found this place that was in town and boy am I glad we went! We got there perfect timing because not many other people were there at that moment so we got a table and chips and salsa right away. The salsa is to die for! We also ordered queso and it was so good as well. I got the chicken quesadilla without onions and tomato's and it was amazing. The quesadilla was huge and the chicken was so good. Our waitress was super nice and quick! Food came out in no time. The other food is my friends food and she loved everything too! Will definitely be coming here when I'm in need of a good quesadilla. I think this place has the best salsa in all of Ormond Beach. Their service is typically very good, and they are pretty consistent. It might be the most flavorful Mexican cuisine you will find in the Ormond Beach area. Their pricing can be a little strange at times. A large salsa to go is somehow over $12 after tax. I also wish they would season their fajitas better. More dry seasoning or marinade before it hits a hot pan, and it would really go to another level. However, Don Peppers Mexican Grill is rated at the top of my list and it doesn't disappoint every time I eat here. The staff are super friendly and the service was great. We started our meal with an order of Queso and Horchatas. The Queso was creamy, not too thick, and delicious with the right amount of spices. The horchatas were probably one of the best I've had in a very long time. Furthermore, we all ordered Enchiladas Rancheras which is cheese enchiladas topped with sautéed onions, peppers, and carnitas in a delicious sauce.
