If I could give ZERO STARS. TRUST ME I WOULD. I came on Saturday and ordered 2 tortas. I get home and my chicken torta bread is burnt. Who the heck wants to eat burnt bread?? To top it off the meat on both of the tortas were cold. I live 5 mins from here so no way in 5 mins my food can get cold. I come back a couple minutes before closing and ask for them to remake it or refund me. The lady at the window there said they are closed and couldn't do either and to come back the next day. I said the least you could do is give my money back so I can get food elsewhere. She starts being super rude and refuses to do either. After going back and forth on her calling the manager or owners she finally says she'll hand over my money back and I told her that the food stands on the street give better service and food. She snaps and tells me to leave now and I responded sure after my money so I can buy something else. The cook comes out and starts going off on how customers are never satisfied and I told him who would want to eat a cold burnt torta. She hands me $25 and says to give her back change since it was $22. I told her to give me back the tip I had left then and she rolled her eyes and told me to just keep the $25 and slammed the window on me. The food is decent. We ordered a sausage breakfast burrito, a bacon/chorizo breakfast burrito, a Mexican cheese quesadilla, carne asada nachos, and a large horchata. Their red sauce is amazing. The ladies working the drive-thru were nice. I'm giving 3 stars because the driveway for the drive-thru was nasty. Trash that looked like it had been sitting there for a week or so; the workers need to take a few minutes before they open to make the outside somewhat presentable. Scrub the walls and concrete along with some fresh paint. Doesn't the owners want a clean establishment inside and out? It would definitely help generate more business to come through. The breakfast burritos are AaAaAaAamazing!! The tortilla is soft and warm and the filling is plentiful. Tons of meat; warm, cheesy eggs; perfectly crisp hash brown pieces. We ordered 3 types over 2 days lol the bacon-sausage is my absolute favorite; the bacon-ham is my partners favorite; the sausage was really good to but I think it needed bacon lol. It is a hefty portion, and they serve it with an incredibly flavorful verse sauce. I wish they sold it, I would totally buy a big ole jar! I have been here a couple of times and cannot get enough of the Caldo de Res (basically a soup). This is pretty much how my dad used to make it. What I have learned is that although there are different Don Pedros, they are not the same owners. You can tell by the food. This location has such a great flavor. Seriously, the meat was so tender. Yum! The guacamole is fresh (yum!) and the flower tortillas are actually a large burrito tortilla cut in 4. My brother ordered the Birria and he said it was great. I think it's Res also but not really sure. It had a red sauce over it and looked so great. The location is not modern, by no means, but sometimes these are the best places. It was like it wasn't toasted up at all, Hastily thrown together in a dirty kitchen... and Carne asada? Shameful... Mi familia an me went here late Thursday evening. My wife got the cheese enchilada plate, my daughter had the burria plate, and I had the pozole soup with a carnitas taco. Let me start by saying that there are at least 4 taco houses within 1/4 mile of each other on 99, so the competition is tight. Some of them are in buildings that clearly were an A&W, a Pizza Hut etc from back in the day. I'll start with the cheese enchilada plate. An honest and well presented plate and another with rice and beans and cream etc. Nice and straight forward. The Burria plate was generous, and tasty. My taco.. ok it was the end of the night and the hot line was depleted and I got jerky. But the pozole, maybe the star of this show. It was spicy, but didn't kill me, and I enjoyed every bit of this. I have ordered this from 4-5 places. Usually, there is a side of little veggies that get put in like pho, aromatics and cabbage,etc. This had lettuce. A head scratch, but ok. I dumped everything else in along with 2 squeezed limes. The spicy carrots were just right. Refills on the horchata were great. In summary, I'll never go to Muchos Gracias again. I believe this is a small chain franchise based in the Portland area because they share the same logo but the menus at each location are different. I go to the Camas location all the time for menudo and love it but it has gotten so busy during the lunch hour, I have been going elsewhere. I got the menudo here and it was good. They serve it 7 days a week which is not common. Not as good as the Camas location, but good enough. It's more authentic than Muchas Gracias and most of the locations have a drive through. I have been a fan of Don Pedro's for more than 16 years now. I loved them in Portland and was happy to see them here in Vancouver when I moved here over 12 years ago. I WILL NOT eat at Americanized Muchas Gracias; this place- DP is authentic, simple and very reasonably priced. I love their tacos and their fish plate (fried whole). I'm not a regular burrito fan so I can't comment on them, but for YEARS- HANDS DOWN they've had the best BREAKFAST burrito, I craved them all the time. But lately they've been EXTREMELY greasy. I don't know if it's a new cook or new ownership but they are messing up one of my favorites! (In the past, I absolutely wouldn't go anywhere for the bacon breakfast burrito.) The place may not look like much from the outside or inside, but your pockets and taste buds will thank you later. There is also a drive thru which is pretty cool. They have plethora of authentic Mexican food that you can imagine. Their tacos are awesome for an average price. Meat is tender and tacos taste fresh. Side bar full of toppings such as cilantro, onions, and limes. Protein and tortilla ration is pretty equal and get a mouthful of flavor with every bite. Tacos are really the only good thing here. I rarely find myself exploring places that look like an old abandoned bombed out fast food burger Joint, however Don Pedro's is worth it. They have a great menu and will make pretty much anything you order exactly like you want it. Don Pedro's is the place for the best breakfast burrito I know of. I love this place. The service is always top notch, and frankly I have never had a bad meal here at all. I find it very difficult to believe that they won't just give the building a little paint and some cleaning, they would get so much more business and make this place 5-star acceptable. If you can get past the facade, give them a try and I don't think your going to be disappointed. Pepsi is on tap, and the prices can't be beat. This location has a drive through, and really this is the worst looking building I think they have in the fleet. Some of the locations in Portland are in a lot better buildings, like old Burger Kings and Wendy's. This is one of my favorite places to eat I sometimes come here a few times a week. I come here for mostly the Carne asada tacos. I've tried the tortas too and they are really good, The Caldo De Res is a hit or miss and the red sauce is my favorite. My only little problem: I ask for no onions just cilantro. Every time they give them to me with NOTHING on them I always have to check them before I leave so I can ask for the cilantro. Last time I asked for the cilantro and it was a mix with tons of onions and few leaves. NO ONIONS PLEASE. Still one of my favorite places for tacos besides some of food trucks. Stopped by at 11:45pm (they close at 12am) pulled up to the sign and somebody said something but we couldnt understand them so we tried getting their attention but that didnt work so we pulled up to the window and the lady said "we're closed" i told her it says online and on their front door that they close at midnight. The lady didnt know what to say so she shut the window and asked somebody. She opened the window and saud "we close at 11:50pm" she then slammed the window and started laughing with all the other employees. She did the same to the next 3 cars in line.
