The Carne Asada seasoning/marinade is completely gross. They need to marinate it in lime and onions and cilantro. The Beef Short ribs with the marinade is the worst thing I've ever put in my mouth and it smelled like sour cream coming out of the package. It has a gross really red marinade so you'd think they taste good. Your best bet is to buy the meat not marinated and marinate it yourself in lime and onions and cilantro but not the short ribs because they're gross and not good quality beef. Also it gets very oily, takes multiple paper towels to get the oil off each piece of meat. I had high expectations for the beef short ribs but they tasted like dog and old and gross. Wasted $20 bucks on them, next time I'm buying meat that's not marinated. Hey some people may like this and some people may find it gross as hell, I'm one who finds it gross as hell. Don Panchos has been on my list to try for some time now and we finally got around to it this weekend! We grabbed some tacos a la carte to split and they were amazing! I liked the chorizo and the barbacoa best, but the chicken and pastor were pretty good, too. We prefer Mexican style (with cilantro, onions, and lime) tacos over American style (with lettuce tomato and cheese) they were a little inconsistent in how much cilantro and how much onion ended up on each one, but that didn't stop us from devouring them all. We ordered a small side of rice and a small side of beans and both were actually pretty big for the price. The rice didn't have a ton of flavor but it was cooked perfectly and the spicy green salsa was delicious on it. The beans were a thin in texture and had good flavor. You can call ahead to place your order or walk-in and place it at the front counter, and they have quite a large selection of grocery items if you need to do some shopping while you wait for your food. They have the best tongue tacos. You get a lot of meat in each tacos. They remind me Of the street tacos I got in California and man are they so good. It's now a weekly tradition in our house to get tacos. Love Don Panchos read more

This is a little place near by! Within walking distance actually. They have quite a bit of selection. My room mate walks there quite frequently. Ive only tried a few things from there but I am excited there is a store near by! I am actually wanting to try new foods and this is the perfect opportunity!! read more

Excellent Mexican style tacos cilantro lime and onion. My favorite was the asada and canitas. Try their baked goods too so good! Tip for new people when you go to the back to the right of the meat counter is a table with order slips write your order down and give it to them. Best Mexican tacos I've had in a while. read more

I mostly came here to rave about their tacos. The tacos here are phenomenal! This store is small, but packed with all those little things I can never find at the big name stores. So glad I finally stopped in. They are now my go to place if I am making tamales. They have a huge variety of chilies, big bags, and great prices. But the tacos are amazing! Tacos were awesome, very authentic in an unexpected location. It's a grocery store with everything authentic Mexican from candy to Masa. Tacos are cheap and meat is heated up on the grill, made to order. I tried the al pastor corn taco and it was incredibly flavorful. They also sell homemade salsa in the fridge. 2.79 a pound, salsa roja is tomatoey with some heat at the end. Even better, they have authentic Mexican popsicles in the store and an ice cream shop next door with homemade de leche cakes, rice pudding and more. They had elotes on the cob and in a cup that I want to try next time as well, I'm sure it will be good. read more

We got barbacoa and lengua tacos. Both were generous portions of meat served in double corn tortillas with chopped onions and cilantro. The lengua was delicious and the barbacoa was pretty good. The store has a well stocked meat section with many choices of meat cut for Mexican cooking as well as traditional American cooking. Otherwise, the store seems well stocked with Mexican grocery store items. read more

I tend to forget this place since, oddly, it doesn't show up if you google Mexican groceries in Lansing and thus I found a lot of other places first. Honestly though, it's closer, has better prices, and better hours. On top of all of that, they make take out food and the lengua tacos are GREAT: lots of juicy delicious meat in a double tortilla with salsa verde and lime on the side. Unfortunately I didn't see the sign for menudo until after I ordered, but I'll definitely be back soon to try that and some of the other menu options. read more
