I ordered the chicken swarma platter to go with one baked bread and two garlic sauces. The chicken and rice were tasty. The salad and hummus were good but portions were very small. But the platter was economical and gave a taste of everything. Next time I'll try the meat pie, fattosh salad and side of hummous. The food we ordered (chicken a bear a platter) tasted good. It did not come with pita bread, which was disappointing. We were told by the server that we had a choice of salads for the $12.99 platter. But we were up-charged $2 for choosing a salad other than the house. We were also charged $1 for a glass of tap water, which was never refilled. One woman served as hostess, waitress, phone answerer, and bus. She was either unwilling or unable to change our bill for the salads The ambiance was poor. The carpet had a black track worn in it and the women's bathroom wasn't working (1 clogged toilet and the other stall was taped shut and flooded.) read more

This is the best middle eastern food I have ever had. The hummus and pita are life changing, you will be mad at every other pita you have ever eaten. Warm and fluffy and so much flavor in the hummus. I could eat this every day. I think they moved into a larger location in the strip mall. They have booths to eat in at now. It doesn't look great from the outside but it is clean and insanely good. I can't believe I am only the third person to review Siraj Bakery! Don't let their name fool you... they have amazing Middle Eastern food! We picked up lunch today and it was delicious. I had the shish tawook and my significant other had the shawarma platter. Both came with salad and hummus. The shawarma platter came with garlic sauce and the shish tawook came with some extra vegetables. We also tried the arayes and loved it. The pita bread was probably some of the best I have ever had, and the falafel with hummus was to die for. Definitely a hidden gem worth checking out! read more

Siraj Bakery was a small business in a strip mall. It is tough to see but not hard to find. I enjoyed my experience. I was greeted as I walked into the little store and they gave me a free sample of their falafel, which was delicious. Also a sweet dessert. I ordered the chicken shawarma which is what I usually get at Mediterranean restaurants because it never disappoints, but also because I find there are not a lot of other choices. Although, at Siraj Bakery they have many unique vegetarian options that when I go back I will only try the vegetarian dishes! I would highly recommend this place to people who want authentic non-westernized food! Next time I go I would like to try their desserts, sambusa, and like I said other vegetarian dishes. read more

A bit hard to find but we'll worth the effort. We'd never had manakish but ordered two different stuffed pies thinking they'd be snack size. We also ordered ful Medamas and a felafel dinner to go. The place seems to be a one man shop with a counter, three chairs and a refrigerator case of sodas and water. The man took our order and disappeared into the kitchen. He returned ten minutes in with two phenomenal fresh felafel with hummus. It took about five more minutes for him to return with two styrofoam containers and a lunch bag with our spinach and cheese and spiced potato manikishes poking out of the top! It was a lot more food than we expected but that's on us. We drove back to our hotel and tucked in. The manikishes were both delicious, the ful was yummy and the dozen felafel with hummus and pickles were fantastic. If this place was close at hand I'd get the pies and felafel weekly. It's truly authentic and the owner is super friendly and always gives me a falafel ball while I wait for my food. Although it's in a sketchy strip mall on Waverly rd. Don't be fooled by Bakery in the title - they serve a full menu, with great entrees including Chicken Shwarma (w a wonderfully flavored rice) and Falafel sandwiches. Khaled and his family were also very hospitable; when I first placed the order, I was given some of the dishes to sample. This is the best new restaurant I have found in a long time. The staff made me feel like I was being invited into his home. We ordered a selection of the pies and loved every one of them. We were given the most fantastic falafel I have ever had while we waited for our order. The falafel was so creamy on the inside with a delicate crunchy outside. The most amazing part was the price, I went in with the plan of spending $20 trying out a new place and after all the food including a large tray if baklava I was only able to spend $12.
