Well, I tried to order from this location one night on DoorDash, only to have them cancel my dinner order after an hour of waiting, which was pretty miserable. Canceling immediately would have been fine! But then when we tried to find food the next day, kept thinking about the arepas... so came straight here. I love a bakery with savory items! The display counters were pretty empty for a bakery, and there were barely any employees on a busy Sunday morning during season, so my takeout order took forever. I am glad I went in rather than ordered online. It was impossible to figure out how big the empanadas were online. They were actually quite large, though in a not-that-appealing 'shell.' My kids liked the chicken and beef ones, mostly, though the cheese ones - just plain white cheese inside that was congealed pretty soon after receiving. I ordered a tuna salad something and it was good. I had a migraine so many things got lost that day. The items came in paper bags that were stained with grease. I forgot about the arepas by the time I finished ordering. Would have loved to see pictures and descriptions on the menu when ordering. I want to return to try their arepas and some of the non-empanada baked items that I didn't order. The inside cafe part was pretty bland. read more

Came here due to all the high praise! Usually it is spot on for Yelp... our interaction how ever we as not the 4-5 star review type.... When I ordered, I specifically stated the omelet with only ham, bacon, cheese...as you can see by the picture ... that is not what came out of the kitchen... when delivered to the table I stated that this what was not I ordered... but apparently the person that delivered it did not understand english. Needless to say I spent the next few minutes picking out mushrooms... which I absolutely loathe!!!!! Glad I was not allergic to them... I gave them the opportunity to make it right, but apparently either did not care... or just don't allow changes in an order.... Which to me shows a lack of customer service.... Also side note.. they like most other places down here automatically add 18% to the check.... And then have a tip jar.. which I did not know and left them a 10 dollar tip on top... read more

We came here to try some empanadas. The restaurant is located by 67th st in a small shopping center next to Rita's and Lil' Ceasers. When we walked in it wasn't to busy, so we grabbed a menu and sat down. The restaurant was clean with a few tables to sit at. They had cuban and latin foods. Columbian and Venezuelan empanadas, chicken and rice, plantains, arepas, croquetas, baked goods, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and more. The staff was friendly but busy. I ordered a ham and cheese, shredded beef, and ground beef empanada, and ham croqueta which came to $16. The ground beef and shredded beef were good with the green sauce. The sauce was delicious by itself. The ham and cheese was really good to but it was mostly dough, not enough ham and cheese. The ham croqueta had good flavor. I ate them at room temperature, but i know they'd be even better hot!! If i visit Miami again I'd try more foods from here. Check them out. read more

Today, we stopped by Don Pan bakery in Miami Beach. We have driven by many times on our way to other places. This time, we stopped in and are so glad we did! This is such a cute bakery, well designed, and decorated. It is family owned for 25 years. You can dine in or take out. They have breakfast items, lunch, and parties. We chose to take home. The prices are reasonable also. We ordered a Ham and Cheese empanada, which was delicious! These are larger than the small ones given out by other bakeries. My daughter got the Beef empanada and enjoyed hers. We also got strawberry tarts and guava pastelitos for the weekend. There are so many items that look delicious. Parking is right in front of the bakery. It is located in a small strip mall on the north side. The owner was so pleasant and friendly. We will definitely go back again soon! read more

Counter service for breakfast. We didn't have any trouble ordering at the counter. They have lots of cookies and pastries to try as well. My breakfast consists of eggs, beans, pulled pork, rice, avocado, and some potato cakes. The wait was long for our food and when it finally arrived, it was less than hot. The only thing hot were the beans. I would have enjoyed it more if my food had been hot. The meat was actually cold. I tried the sausage that someone else had ordered and it was good. My husband had asked for an omelet with just bacon and ham, no vegetables. Of course, it came out with the vegetables. He tried to tell the guy from the kitchen that he asked for no vegetables but he just didn't understand so my husband had to pick out what he didn't want. Unfortunately, I do have to say that the service at this location was subpar - the staff was not very friendly and extremely slow. The line just kept growing behind us and the staff just kept moving at the same pace. We waited a very very long time for our items and several people that ordered after us got their items before us. Fortunately, it was worth the wait. I ordered an arepa pabellon which was delicious and stayed hot until we walked across the street to sit on the beach and eat. My husband got an egg dish which he said was very tasty. Then we split a guava pastelito which was probably the best I've had to date. The perfect amount of crisp and flakiness, the perfect amount of rock sugar on top, just the right amount of gooey guava inside....it was delicious. The food is ok but BE CAREFUL WITH the service charges, if you add tips they will also add table service fee RIP OFF I asked the attendant why there were 2 TIP sections on my receipt, she said it was the table service PLUS the 15% I tipped, I tipped because I understand these jobs get paid mostly on tips, but they ALREADY ADD ANOTHER 15% for table service, that means they got 30% tip, you don't even give that much on a fancy seat down full service restaurant, and they trick you to do that here, absolutely disgusting. If i could give decimal rating this place would be about a 3.7/5 stars. It's a Venezuelan bakery, and my brother has lived in Miami for years and it's one of his favorite spots so he took me. I got the machada and chicken empanada with a large cafe con leche. I do LOVE that they completely stuff the empanada with meat unlike some other places that seem to skimp and you're biting straight bread. The meat was also very moist and flavorful. Only reason i say 3.7/5 is because Miami has a surplus of other spots to where this could get lost in the fold. It didn't knock my socks off but yes still very good and if I'm in the area and hungry i would return. read more

The food quality has gone down tremendously. The service is horrible considering their prices. 1 cachito and a juice 11 dollars but it was stale and empty inside and tasteless. As a Venezuelan this is embarrassing because I love their other locations but this one needs a new cook and a change in management. I also did a catering order so we will see how that is. Don Pan on Collins Ave is an excellent place. Great food, super friendly service, very good prices, nice atmosphere, clean and safe. Indoor/outdoor, free parking. I LOVE their cachitos. If you are not familiar with Queso Paisa (cheese) treat yourself. Their omelettes are amazing. Huge. My favorite has ham, bacon, onion, mushroom, and more. They have veggie options and egg white options too. Best breakfast on the block. Great selection of pastries, all made in-house, reasonably priced too. Neighbors have told me the Rib Soup is very good, but I have not tried it yet. Stay tuned. read more
