Delicious seafood paella! We had it delivered rather than made on site for reasons of our own. It was for the family birthdays in January. We lovingly call it "La Fiesta de Los Viejos". The paella was extraordinary! We had the seafood one with lobster and it was chock full of delicious and prime quality seafood. Super rude people! I called to find out information about their catering service and I was treated so unprofessional. I would never want their business I have attached below a pic. According to Don Paella owner, call was 15 secs. It was actually 1 min!! I DID NOT CALL SAYING "I want information" I started my call saying, "Hi, I'm calling to find out information about your catering services that you offer." A few seconds into the phone call after going back and forth with him. I emphasized "it's for Saturday for 35ppl una paella" and he was still SUPER RUDE! & Now Don Paella is saying he thought it was a fake call?! Ridiculous.... People reading this, I wouldn't lie. I'm a business owner myself & customers are priority and should be treated with respect ! For me to spend time writing a review is because I was shocked! I was disgusted with the attitude. I ended the call telling him how rude he was and unprofessional and I didn't want his business anymore & he said "ok bye" like he didn't care. Excellent team work. A Chef and an assistant came at the established time. They brough dinner rolls and assembled a tasty & fruity green salad.T and plenty of maduros. They both served the meal. The paella came still hot, on two very large paella pots covered by foil paper. One was a seafood paella and the other, a meat paella. The seafood paella had plenty of shrimp, scallops, calamary, oysters, etc. The meat one, chorizo, chicken breast, pork chunks. Great presentation! Better was the seasoning and taste of both (I tasted a little of each). There was very little left over. It was a success! This was a Christmas gift to customers. read more

My experience was pretty bad with Don Paella's employee who came out to cook and serve the paella, she was rude to the children at the party when they were hungry and wanted to eat before the adults. This woman basically yelled at them and said they couldn't be served just yet because the paella wasn't done cooking. Once the paella was cooked and ready to be served we wanted to take a picture of the masterpiece but she hurried us so that she can serve. To top it off, this woman yelled at our party guests demanding them to make a line to be served and slapped a spoon full of rice on each plate with the worst attitude. Her attitude was rude and made our experience with Don Paella pretty horrible. The food tasted delicious but the attitude that was served with it made our experience bitter. So sad! read more

We hired this company for our Pool Party Paella. I would not recommend this company. Our event consisted of 40 people. We paid $800 plus a $100 travel surcharge. What we got was one person cooking the paella in a small pan that was not impressive at all. The paella valenciana was not well prepared and did not taste good at all. When I saw the size of the pan, I asked the cook, if it would be enough for 40 people. He assured me it would be. What each guest received was a small amount of paella, about the size of the palm of a women's hand, with 2 pieces of bread and a small amount of salad to take up the empty space on the plate. In my opinion, this was a robbery. Needless to say the guests all felt ripped off as well. This was the first time our guests complained about an event. What a huge disappointment. I sent word to the owner with the cook about this disaster and never received a response. read more

We had a great experience using Don Paella to cater my son's birthday party. We ordered a Paella Valencia for 40 people starting at 12 noon with food service at 1PM. For about $11 a person, the food, chef and an additional server were included. A lot of the other paella caterers I called were charging the same price for just the food with a chef being another $200 with no servers. We supplied the plates and silverware. I was initially worried that these guys would be at the party on time, but unbelievably they showed up EARLY. It was almost too early being 1 hour and 15 minutes before the start time. Hey whatever better early than late. Both chef and server changed into uniforms and set up a pretty professional catering station next to their large paella pan. These guys came with their own fuel and a cooler with the food. At 12 they started cooking. The food was ready at 1PM as promised and it was AWESOME. The paella was piping hot and absolutely stocked with shrimp, clams, calamari, sausage and chicken. I'm getting hungry thinking about it. The food was enough for 50 people! The chef and server stayed until 3 and then put the paella in serving platters for us before leaving. My only warning would be that neither the chef or server spoke a lick of English. Luckily my ass can speak Spanish... The entire night we had constant comments about how great the food was. For this price you definitely cannot beat it. They also provide Parillada catering, lechons, and BBQs as well. We will definitely use these guys again in the future. read more

Keep in mind all the guest were already in the house waiting to see the paella be made, which takes about 1 1/2 to make. We called him several times and he never called back. I catered Don Paella for my mom's 60th birthday party and all my guests left wondering when was the next one. Gladys and Augustine (the Don Paella chef and assistant) were outstanding. They arrived early and were incredibly nice. They even helped me set the tables. Without me having to tell them they decorated the paella with the number 60 on it so my mom and her friends could take pictures. We ate right on time and everyone raved about the food. Horrible service and very unprofessional!! I do not recommend hiring this company for any event that has significant meaning. My daughter was urged to hire the owner's wife as the day of event coordinator in order to make sure that we could spend time together getting ready and to be able to enjoy the special moments of her big day. We ended up having to set up and coordinate the flow of the events ourselves, as the evening progressed. After not completing her job, my daughter was haggled, while on the dance floor of her wedding, to pay the remaining portion of the bill (without even being able to review it). After writing an email about the evening, the response from the owner was filled with unprofessional argumentative comments- there was no resolution offered. Response: Thank you for the response to my review. I have pictures of my husband and myself moving the rented furniture in place and setting up the tables. The owner was not at the event to be able to comment on anything except hearsay. However, let me just clarify one simple fact....The day of coordinator according to Bride magazine (a very reliable source for Brides) Is, "A day-of wedding coordinator is a person responsible for making sure the wedding day or weekend is executed perfectly. Their roles include overseeing vendors, managing the timeline, and overcoming any last-minute challenges that arise during the festivities." If that was not a manageable, then we should have been made aware. Every event will have challenges and that is what the day of coordinator is supposed to handle. Therefore, we were delayed in getting dressed for the event because we did have to set up and move the furniture and take care of all the challenges ourselves. read more

Not only was the food fabulous and the service superb, but the staff went way above and beyond staying extra hours, providing a bartender at the last minute and helping stow all the rented chairs and tables for pickup. I'm throwing a nursing graduation party for my wife and I just called to get a quote for 35 people and whoever is picking up the phone has obviously no customer service skills. After being talk to like a child I let the attendant know that he was rude and taking my business elsewhere. The attendant promptly said "ok, bye" and hung up rather than helping me or trying to save a customer. Don Paella was a hit all around, she arrived on time....Ana....she immediately went to work setting up and soon after you could smell the delicious aroma emanating from her wonderful cooking, did I mentioned it was a wedding? I'm sure all the guest were thinking can we skip the ceremony and go straight for the food....ha ha ha, nah just kidding but it was killing me I tell you. She made an amazing paella, it smelled good it tasted like the food of the gods and yes I went back for seconds, a lovely salad and delicious rolls accompany this meal, it was worth every penny.
